We lived in Brussels for many years and enjoy returning to visit friends. We love the urban life style and particularly the restaurants!
Your home was lovely; and was extremely convenient to the metro, which we took every day. Also, to and from the airport, we took the Express Airport Bus (#12) to Schuman station, and the metro to Tomberg, all for 3 euro. It was a snap and super inexpensive.
We travelled to Antwerp, Brugges, and Waterloo. In retrospect, because of the time involved with taking public transportation to Waterloo, it was not a good use of our time (metro to Gare Centraal, train to Waterloo, 15 minute walk to info booth, 15 minute local bus ride, 10 minute walk, and finally - the battle site; and then return!). However both Antwerp and Brugges were lovely and certainly I would recommend them to anyone.
We even found the farmer's market around Gare Midi (I think it was that one...). We always look for outdoor markets wherever we travel, as it's a good way to feel like a local!
On our first day, we did walk to your local park (out front door, left, left, right...) wandered the park, which was full of students... Easily found the GB grocery store. Your home is in a lovely neighborhood!
We have rented extensively through VRBO and have never been disappointed. Yours however was the largest and most modern (there's a lot to be said for modern bathrooms!).
After staying at a studio apartment in Paris, this apartment was spacious!! The bedrooms were on the first floor, with 2 bathrooms. The main floor had a spacious living room, as well as a dining room and large kitchen. The roof top terrace was on the third level - also very large. As everyone has stated, it was quiet, convenient, clean and comfortable. The only negative was that the WiFi was not available, and no TV. We were informed of us this by the owner prior to our arrival, and it was not within their control. It did make me realize how dependent we are on being able to communicate with others. All in all, we were very happy that we made this selection. We would definitely recommend it to others.
We stayed in this great 3bedroom flat for one week. It is less than 1/2 block away from one of the main subway/metro lines, and the Belgian subways are great.
The apartment is extremely well-stocked and comfortable. And it is remarkably quiet. There are nice restaurants nearby, and a very nice grocery store.
This apartment is very convenient for work at the European Union.
Also, there is a garage. We hope to return.
Other than the fact that an infirm visitor would have trouble with the stairs (there is an elevator to the apartment entrance), I recommend this rental highly. I have had 3 back surgeries, and I did fine!
Valerie, one of the owners, is a pleasure to deal with, and extremely helpful.
Location, location, location. This 3/2 condo in the suburbs is next to a very quiet police station, around the corner from the metro station, and up the street from the "grocery" store. There are good restaurants within walking distance and the rooftop terrace is a wonderful place to sip a glass of wine at the end of a day of sightseeing. The owners live in Ohio and so the deposit is by US check to Ohio. So easy. Except for the lack of plants up stairs, the photos are true to what the unit looks like. Also, we washed clothes, used the rack overnight, and did a quick dry in the dryer the next morning. And Lolita, the housekeeper, is a gem. She is fluent in english and was able to assist us in finding the grocery store, the subway routes, and some restaurants. If we ever get back to Brussels, this is where we'll stay.
This appartment was wonderful and by far the best rental of my multi-city trip. It comes exactly as advertised in the pictures/profile, and is fully equipped with everything one would need (the kitchen in particular). It was also very convenient for the larger group of people that we were (6 people). The upstairs living area was so well lit and spacious, and the rooftop terrace is worth the rental alone!
The appartment is well located, it is just steps away from a metro station that takes you to the city center in 10-15mins.
Check in (and out) was a breeze. I really must thank the appartment owners, who were so kind and easy to communicate with, and the housekeepers who greeted us (they were also so very helpful and kind).
I spent a very enjoyable week at this apartment with my girlfriend. It has a super location, close to metro , shops and parks! The information we received from the owners was very thorough and very user friendly. I would definetly stay here and again and l have no trouble recommended this apt. to friends and family.
This apartment was just as it was advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, although the winding stairway is challenging. This place is beautiful, and very convenient. If you come by train, you will want to spend the 17 euros on a taxi. Quite worth it. Brussels is full of some of the most friendly people in Europe. Although my French is good, everyone seems to speak English. This is a great place to take short train hops to many places. Bruge was fantastic! Quiet and beautiful. Don't miss it.
