Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday apartment in Woluwe-Saint-Lambert

Apartment, 3 Bedrooms + Den, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 5-6)

You will love this comfortable apartment situated a convenient 10 minute Metro ride to the medieval center of Brussels, one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. It is located on the western side of the city, close to the European Union institutions and the beautiful Parc Cinquantenaire with its impressive art, history, military and automobile museums.

The apartment is comfortably furnished, and fully equipped, including broadband ADSL internet connection at no extra charge. It is in a quiet residential neighbourhood in walking distance to wonderful restaurants, a full range of local shops, including bakeries, and two convenient local parks. An ATM is available less than two minutes' walk away.

The apartment is in the Brussels borough of Woluwe St Lambert. The nearest Metro (subway) station is Tomberg and is only 50 metres away.

This is a spacious airy apartment, not a crowded studio, on two living levels. On entry to the apartment, there is large entrance hall/foyer with a closet for coats etc. On the same level there is a large master bedroom with an en-suite bathroom, and queen-sized (US) double bed. The second bedroom has a standard double bed, again with ample storage. There is a second full bathroom. The third room on this level is a fully equipped home-office with fax/photocopier, and both dial-up and ADSL broadband internet connection and includes a single bed and an extra mattress(supplied). The large master bedroom has a built in full bathroom (tub and shower). The other sleeping alternative is in the living area on the lengthy 3 seat sofa and there is a double air mattress and a fold up baby bed.

On the upper level there is a spacious living room and a full formal dining area with seating up to eight people.

The dining living area opens to a fully fitted and equipped kitchen with a separate breakfast area that comfortably seats four.

Brussels is on the European high-speed rail system, and is a mere one hour and twenty minutes train ride to Paris, two hours to Amsterdam, a similar journey time to Cologne etc. The world heritage city of Bruges with its medieval canals and famous lace making is 90 km / 60 miles away, again with frequent convenient train connections.

Last, bit not least, this apartment has a unique roof garden, a wonderful sunny oasis in which to relax after a day of sightseeing or sampling the world famous cuisine of Brussels.

Why The Owner chose Belgium

We lived in Brussels for many years and enjoy returning to visit friends. We love the urban life style and particularly the restaurants!

Guestbook comments from the owner

Your home was lovely; and was extremely convenient to the metro, which we took every day. Also, to and from the airport, we took the Express Airport Bus (#12) to Schuman station, and the metro to Tomberg, all for 3 euro. It was a snap and super inexpensive.

We travelled to Antwerp, Brugges, and Waterloo. In retrospect, because of the time involved with taking public transportation to Waterloo, it was not a good use of our time (metro to Gare Centraal, train to Waterloo, 15 minute walk to info booth, 15 minute local bus ride, 10 minute walk, and finally - the battle site; and then return!). However both Antwerp and Brugges were lovely and certainly I would recommend them to anyone.

We even found the farmer's market around Gare Midi (I think it was that one...). We always look for outdoor markets wherever we travel, as it's a good way to feel like a local!

On our first day, we did walk to your local park (out front door, left, left, right...) wandered the park, which was full of students... Easily found the GB grocery store. Your home is in a lovely neighborhood!

We have rented extensively through VRBO and have never been disappointed. Yours however was the largest and most modern (there's a lot to be said for modern bathrooms!).

Like being at home!

  • 4 of 5

After staying at a studio apartment in Paris, this apartment was spacious!! The bedrooms were on the first floor, with 2 bathrooms. The main floor had a spacious living room, as well as a dining room and large kitchen. The roof top terrace was on the third level - also very large. As everyone has stated, it was quiet, convenient, clean and comfortable. The only negative was that the WiFi was not available, and no TV. We were informed of us this by the owner prior to our arrival, and it was not within their control. It did make me realize how dependent we are on being able to communicate with others. All in all, we were very happy that we made this selection. We would definitely recommend it to others.

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your nice review - we were distraught to find out that our WiFi (internet and TV) had been disconnected and were able to get it reconnected quite quickly - we are assured that this will not happen again! The TV service has many channels from the different European Union countries and the U.S. (CNN, Bloomberg, CNBC).!

WONDERFUL Brussels Apartment!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this great 3bedroom flat for one week. It is less than 1/2 block away from one of the main subway/metro lines, and the Belgian subways are great.

The apartment is extremely well-stocked and comfortable. And it is remarkably quiet. There are nice restaurants nearby, and a very nice grocery store.

This apartment is very convenient for work at the European Union.

Also, there is a garage. We hope to return.

Other than the fact that an infirm visitor would have trouble with the stairs (there is an elevator to the apartment entrance), I recommend this rental highly. I have had 3 back surgeries, and I did fine!

Valerie, one of the owners, is a pleasure to deal with, and extremely helpful.

Great Rooftop Terrace (sans garden)

  • 5 of 5

Location, location, location. This 3/2 condo in the suburbs is next to a very quiet police station, around the corner from the metro station, and up the street from the "grocery" store. There are good restaurants within walking distance and the rooftop terrace is a wonderful place to sip a glass of wine at the end of a day of sightseeing. The owners live in Ohio and so the deposit is by US check to Ohio. So easy. Except for the lack of plants up stairs, the photos are true to what the unit looks like. Also, we washed clothes, used the rack overnight, and did a quick dry in the dryer the next morning. And Lolita, the housekeeper, is a gem. She is fluent in english and was able to assist us in finding the grocery store, the subway routes, and some restaurants. If we ever get back to Brussels, this is where we'll stay.

Amazing Stay - Incredible Appartment

  • 5 of 5

This appartment was wonderful and by far the best rental of my multi-city trip. It comes exactly as advertised in the pictures/profile, and is fully equipped with everything one would need (the kitchen in particular). It was also very convenient for the larger group of people that we were (6 people). The upstairs living area was so well lit and spacious, and the rooftop terrace is worth the rental alone!

The appartment is well located, it is just steps away from a metro station that takes you to the city center in 10-15mins.

Check in (and out) was a breeze. I really must thank the appartment owners, who were so kind and easy to communicate with, and the housekeepers who greeted us (they were also so very helpful and kind).

Great place!

  • 5 of 5

This apartment was just as it was advertised. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, although the winding stairway is challenging. This place is beautiful, and very convenient. If you come by train, you will want to spend the 17 euros on a taxi. Quite worth it. Brussels is full of some of the most friendly people in Europe. Although my French is good, everyone seems to speak English. This is a great place to take short train hops to many places. Bruge was fantastic! Quiet and beautiful. Don't miss it.
