Why Adam & Amanda chose Marbella area

We purchased this property after visiting the Don Carlos Hotel and loving this area of Elviria. When we visited the Alanda, with the beach, restaurants and bars etc all within a couple of minutes walk we knew this would be the perfect place for us, being a family of five and to visit as a couple without the kids as well.

The apartment complex, being in a conservation area means they are a maximum of 4 stories high and are a great mix of traditional and contemporary styling. We visit a few times a year as a family and also visit as a couple and with friends as well. We love coming here and still have loads of places to see and things to do we have not had time do yet!

For us this is the ideal holiday location; when the weather is good you have the beach, pools and all you need for a relaxing beach holiday, or if you want to be active there are literally hundreds of things to do and places to see all within thirty minutes or less no matter what your age, plus a selection of restaurants / bars within minutes.

What makes this apartment unique

What makes our apartment unique are the facilities at the Alanda; if the weather is too hot or too cold there is the indoor air conditioned facilities of the Alanda Club; indoor heated pool, spa tub, snooker, kids games room, you can order room service, a baby sitter just by picking up the phone in the apartment. A ten minute cab gets you to the centre of Marbella or to Banus; great for the odd visit, but we genuinely prefer to be located at Elviria where there is plenty to do on your door step in a beautiful location that is a little bit exclusive but not pretentious.

Fantastic apartment

We were a family of 3 adults and 2 teenage children and knowing the area very well I wanted to book an apartment within the Alanda complex. The apartment was just what we wanted, it is very spacious even with the sofa bed left up all week, the bedrooms are both of a very good size with plenty of wardrobe space, both bathrooms are large and there's a third bathroom with a shower which we didn't have to make use of! The kitchen has everything you need and plenty of crockery and cutlery and a dishwasher and washing machine which we didn't actually have to use. The air conditioning worked brilliantly although we didn't have to use it that much as the apartment itself is so airy and cool especially with the patio doors open. The patio is a perfect size too with plenty of space for eating outside and a comfy sofa for evening drinks. Everything is within walking distance, the pool is a good size with plenty of beds and brollys and was very quiet so no panic over sunbeds, the beach is a 2 minute walk down the road and there's plenty of restaurants and shops within a 5 minute walk. I would definitely recommend this apartment, from booking to staying everything was perfect and the owners replied to any questions I had incredibly quickly. The staff at Alanda are also very helpful. Thank you Adam and Amanda for allowing us to stay in your apartment and I will be looking to book next year!!

Lovely apartment

My husband and two teenage children have recently returned from a week in this spacious apartment, the location is perfect for our needs as it it close to the beach, shops and good restaurants. The apartment was clean, however apartment towels are not changed during the week but I bought washing powder and washed them in the washing machine(I presume I overlooked this minor detail when booking), pool towels are changed every three days. There is a dish washer and tumble dryer too and ample crockery for use and the Alanda club welcome kitchen pack that included a dish cloth, scrub, one dishwasher tablet and two sachets of washing up liquid was a nice touch. We had one complementary single premium wifi however it was €20 for every other premium wifi so this added an extra €60 to our bill as we all wanted to have wifi. This apartment is not in the main complex but across the road, the pool is not as busy as that at the main complex and this suited us quite well, one minor issue was there is no coffee bar in this complex, I have stayed many times in Neighbouring apartments Jardines de las Golondrinas and really missed having the advantage of a poolside restaurant and wish I had a card to gain access to Golondrinas! Our stay was so enjoyable but too short. It is worth noting that I am very fussy when I stay somewhere and will be pleased to make a return to this apartment and many thanks to the owners for their assistance.

Great Apartment in nice complex and good location.

Our family group of ten year olds ( 2) and parents (2) and grandparents (2) had a great stay in this lovely clean apartment in Elviria near Marbella. The apartment has all mod cons and a large balcony off the living room. The beach is less than 5 minutes walk away and there are some nice restaurants / bars / supermarkets within walking distance. The outdoor and indoor pool in the complex was great fun for our 2 ten year olds..they had a ball !

We would definitely stay in this apartment again if it is available.

Great holiday and apartment - we will be back!

Elviria really is a lovely area in Marbella, so many nice restaurants, beaches and all within a few minutes walk. We even enjoyed the evening entertainment laid on by the Alanda Club which was a nice surprise to have included as well. The apartment itself was wonderful - well equipped and very well presented and perfect for our family break. Very spacious with lovely interior, better than we expected in a holiday rental - another nice surprise. Having found this place and apartment we will be back.

Great location but apartment looks tired.

Spent a week there end of December and the apartment is ideal for a family. Only 30 metres from the beach and same to the club house it is very well situated.

However, it looks like much of it has not been updated in the last 20 years. There are light fittings not covered where the front has dropped off and the washing machine and drier are in a right state and we could not use them as we thought the clothes would come out dirtier than when they went in. They have to be the original machines put in when Alanda was built in the early 90`s.

It is certainly not worth the premium you would pay in the peak season, but was acceptable at the price we paid in December.

Owner's Response: Thanks for the review its always good to have feedback, but a little disappointed almost half the review is on a washer/dryer, that are in a utility room that you did not even use! Both are AEG appliances that work perfectly so they have not been replaced, unlike all the rest of the kitchen appliances which are all new (oven, induction hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher etc), plus the Apartment was redecorated in the last 2 years. Also if any light fittings are damaged then if you’d have let us, or the Alanda know, then we’d have them fixed immediately – as you have let us know via this review the Alanda has now replaced the light fixing in question! Anyhow, on the positive; hope you had a good holiday.

This road is cul-de-sac so there's no through road access or little noise. On this beautiful beach you will find quality beach front restaurants plus various water-sport activities. Within walking distance there are a variety of shops and amenities with all the usual things you'd expect, so you do not necessarily need a car.
