Villa Sociedade is one of the few properties on Cape Cod offering two amazing homes (main house: property #692098 & guest house: property #562848). It is the ideal solution for extended family, friends, and Fido to vacation together. Each house can be rented separately or together. Both homes are private from one another. They are spacious enough to enjoy each other's company and yet have your own privacy. There is subtle luxury, warmth, and inviting charm throughout the homes and grounds.
The Villa is nestled on one of the highest points of Truro hills. Three beautifully landscaped acres on it's own private road makes it a tranquil and picturesque setting with spectacular views of Truro. The beautiful grounds will awaken all of your senses.
Upon entering the ''guest house'' the views from the floor to ceiling sliders are breathtaking. This is an architecturally designed home with air conditioning, beamed ceilings, and a spacious open floor plan.
There are expansive decks on this 4 bedroom, 2 bath, air conditioned contemporary home. The flowing floor plan allows for quiet relaxation or wonderful entertaining.
The main level consists of: living, dining, a fully-applianced galley kitchen, an office area, and two private bedrooms. There are two private bedrooms on this level each with king size beds. A full bath with tub, shower, and loo joins these two bedrooms with access from either bedroom.
A spiral stairway leads to a lower level ''separate apartment'' consisting of: a kitchen with sitting area and laundry room, two private bedrooms: one with two queen size beds and the other with two double size beds and a twin size bed. The Jack and Jill bathroom can be accessed from both bedrooms. There is a private loo and sink for each bedroom with a tub and shower in between for shared use.
The separate and private levels of this home make it ideal for large families. Separate entrances are great for early and late risers. An added perk for children is that they can enjoy the lower level for themselves.
In an ongoing effort to boast our 5 star rating for providing a well-appointed and pristine home, touchless flush toilet systems have been installed.
There is a private and very big outdoor shower, ping pong table, hammock, and tree swing. Linens and bedding are provided. These are a few of the amenities available to you at no extra cost.
Wellfleet and Provincetown are about a 10 - 15 minute drive, and it is perhaps a mile or so to either Corn Hill Beach on the bay side or Long Nook Beach on the ocean. Walking and biking trails through the Cape Cod National Sea Shore are nearby.
Dogs are allowed only with permission.
I was born on the island of Sao Miguel, Azores, one of the places where heaven meets earth. The unspoiled beautiful nature and the gracious hospitality of the Azorean people are a part of my heritage.
We immigrated to the Ironbound section of Newark, New Jersey when I was four years old. The Ironbound is populated with people from various European countries thus facilitating our acculturation to western culture and yet maintaining our Azorean roots.
I learned many valuable teachings in our bi-cultural home: love of family, the value of consistent hard work, how to make a house into a loving home, but the two messages that resonate deep are: do what you say and do it whole-heartedly; and honor your heritage and family surname.
I completed my doctrate in 1995 in counseling psychology and became a licensed psychologist in 1996. My love for and commitment to my heritage is why I brought my clinical skills back home to the Ironbound.
My immediate reaction when I first encountered Cape Cod in 1990 was: 'I have arrived.' I have traveled to many beautiful places but what I felt when I stumbled upon Truro was a connection between mind, body and soul. Whether walking, biking or driving through Truro, I knew someday I would own a home on the Outer Cape.
Ten years (2000) later I bought my first home in North Truro. As fate would have it, this home was sold in 2009 during a tumultuous time of my life.
In 2011 on a beautiful fall day I purchased my piece of heaven on earth: Villa Sociedade. Much like the Azores, the unspoiled beautiful nature of the Villa is where heaven meets earth.
The passage of my Azorean roots with Villa Sociedade was nothing short of a divine occurence. The first home in North Truro was my 'holding ground' until I was ready to receive the gift intended for me:
Villa Sociedade: A place for integration of heritage and passion for creative hosting of traveling families who want to create memories with each other on the Cape.
Paula Sociedade, Ph.D. purchased this villa in 2010
It is very difficult to find a home on Cape Cod which can accommodate a large group, let alone a property that has all of the amenities Villa Sociedade offers: in ground salt pool, tennis court, basket ball, ping pong, pinball machine, outdoor shower, hammock, air conditioned, monogrammed bed sheets, vegetable garden, just to mention a few of the many amenities you can expect during your stay at no extra cost. The Villa is also registered with the town of Truro so you can enjoy the benefit of paying only a small fee for your car decal giving you access to all Truro beaches.
Guests describe it best:
"The only problem with the villa is it is so relaxing and beautiful, that it was hard to venture out and explore the Cape."
"This is the by far the best rental home..."
"No expense was cut...will not disappoint..."
"This is the fun house!"
"Pristine and dreamy..."
As repeatedly stated in our 5 star reviews: THIS PROPERTY IS LIKE NO OTHER!
This is the ideal vacation spot for the entire family to experience an authentic Cape Cod adventure.
As your host I provide you with the convenience of dealing directly with me...in part as your concierge, your friend, and your insider expert of the Cape. I want there to be inherent trust between me as your host and you as my guest.
Hospitality and attention to detail is what you will encounter. I do not "just rent to a renter" rather I host my guest because I want you to feel at home on the Cape.
If you have any questions feel free to ask me.
This was my family's 5th year at Villa Sociedade and it was the best yet! Each year this magnificent place gets more & more beautiful. There is nothing to want for at all. The house it imacculate & inviting and the setting is magical! We cannot wait for next summer!
It's heaven on earth!
For our group of ten, we rented both properties at Villa Sociedad. Would highly recommend the combination, if it's available, b/c the guest house provides a lovely, large, secluded sleeping space (air conditioning works great, it's not too sunny and the beds are very comfortable), and the big house has dramatic vistas, an enormous deck and a beautiful salt water pool to play in. It's like having your own private estate near the beach. You aren't aware of any other houses, the sunsets are spectacular, the landscaping is very attractive and the location isn't far from beaches, town, etc. Also, Paula, the owner, was very responsive and helpful, and gave us great recommendations for places to eat and shop.
Rented Paula's lovely home for a family get together for my mother -in-law's 87th birthday. What a beautiful house and location. Plenty of room, beautifully decorated, close to amazing beaches and the location is fantastic. Had a great week and loved staying in Truro!! Highly recommend!!
My extended family stayed at Villa Sociedade for one week this summer and, except for not being within walking distance of the beach or bay, this property is perfect. It is very nicely decorated and yet still feels very comfortable and homey. There was plenty of room for us all to gather as a large group or to find our own separate and private spaces when we wanted to. The beds are very comfortable--got a great night sleep every night while there. Although the house is well stocked, renters should be aware that they will need to provide their own toilet paper and paper towels. We used the bedding that is provided at Villa Sociedade; however, next year we would probably bring our own linens as it was difficult to wash and dry everything before departing by 10am. So, although it's a nice service, it makes for a hectic departure. If you are looking to rent a house in Truro for a large group, I highly recommend this property. Paula was very prompt in answering all my emails and providing any information that was needed or helpful. It was a wonderful vacation--but makes it so difficult coming home!
My family and I rented this house for a month in July and it was lovely - great house, tons of room for guests, beautiful yard and outdoor space. We've been vacationing in Truro for 30 summers now and it's one of our favorite houses we've stayed in. Highly recommend!
Eight adults and two kids were thrilled that we found Paula's beautiful guest house. It's comfortable, clean, full of amenities situated in a peaceful setting and, for us, ideally located near a sandy ocean-side beach that is in easy biking distance. Paula was truly the most attentive landlord we have ever experienced and she clearly intends to ensure that her guests have the most hassle-free vacation imaginable. If I had one concern it would be...um...let's see... um...nope, I got nothin'. If we're lucky, we'll get to book it for next year.
Villa Sociedade is ideally located close to Provincetown, Wellfleet, ocean and bay beaches. Truro Vineyard, local markets, biking and walking trails.
