Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday home in Mead - Aviator Dreams

2400 Square Foot House, With 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths And Sleeps 10 Comfortably

This lovely Northside home sits on a small quiet airport with gorgeous views of Mt. Spokane. Just minutes from downtown Spokane, just off Hwy 2 and the North Division Y.

Watch the local planes take off and land from the front yard swing and then end your day watching the sunset on the large back patio while BBQing.

The Large master suite has a queen bed and walk in closet with new carpet. The master bathroom has new flooring, a garden tub, walk in shower and double vanity. Second bedroom has a queen bed and closet. Second bathroom is located just off the second bedroom and has a shower/tub and a nice large single vanity. The third bedroom is located downstairs and has a queen bed with two sets of dressers. A twin bed can be found in a cubby in the laudryroom, perfect for a young child. The beds are brand new, firm and high quality. The linens are also new.

This property is close to civilization but feels remote. During your visit you will see wildlife like deer, quail and wild turkeys. Aviator Dreams is a open spaceous floor plan much like the property it sits on.

What ever your needs may be: Bloomsday, College Graduations, Hoopfest, Skiing, Shopping or just a little getaway; this is the place for you.

Great Location and Good Communication with Owners

  • 4 of 5

We enjoyed our stay very much at Aviator Dreams. We were looking for a place that would accommodate 16 youth group high school students, and we found it at Aviator Dreams. The owner, April, was easy to work with and provided excellent customer service. The house is older, but extremely well maintained and there are a lot of sleeping options. Over the 2 night stay we saw a flock of wild turkeys, deer and a curious coyote. We were close to Spokane so going to Riverfront Park and Laser Quest was an easy commute- less than 30 minutes away from downtown. The spacious back yard was great for Frisbee and getting energy out. If we have another retreat in Spokane, we will try to book this place again.

Aviator's Dream is a lovely home and place stay. It was a very restful place to spend a few days.

  • 4 of 5

The home is very nice and worked well for our family with small children. The open layout was very nice and comfortable for the people we had there to be able to have plenty of room. The area around the house is very scenic and was close to where we wanted to be. We would stay there again.

Nice place

  • 3 of 5

The house is nice and I would give it 4 stars. It's in a nice quiet area north of Spokane and right next to a small airport, but you feel like you're in the woods. The home is spacious and very clean, although a little dated but it's still very nice. The only 2 bathrooms in the home are in bedrooms, which is a little inconvenient for the people staying in the bedrooms when someone needs to use the bathroom at night. But otherwise, nice place.

We enjoyed the open floor plan and the country feel of the property

Very good impression of the property. Not too far from Spokane city center, but far enough to be quiet and peaceful.

Great place for the family to gather

  • 5 of 5

Aviator's Dream is a very gracious, well appointed, comfortable home. We were a family of five adults, and it was perfect for us. The three queen beds were very comfortable. The two twins (trundle) were in in a separate room, but access was through the master. I don't think I realized that, but it wasn't a problem for us. Location was terrific--very close to highway 2, but removed from any noise. Near shopping. We appreciated seeing the menu for Frank's Diner--I had Yelped it, and seeing the menu was a reminder. April was quick to respond to questions. I highly recommend a stay here.

Cool location, dated home, limited sleeping, large living area.

  • 3 of 5

While the living area of this home was sufficient to host our family throughout the week as people came and went for our son's wedding, I would not book this home again, though my wife says she would. It is very dated (though well maintained and very clean), from the lighting to the toilets to the kitchen appliances to the central HVAC. In fact, the HVAC is so bad at cooling the house that the owners added a stand alone unit to the living area, which required my attention at least six times to drain the water from the evaporation system, which I was told to do by the owner. We were here in the heat of summer (July 19-25). Without a/c this house would have been miserably hot, as it was on several occasions when we returned to find the stand alone unit turned off due to needing draining (the unit automatically turns off when the water hits a certain fill level, which is a mystery).

My wife also felt that the layout of the home was awkward. There are only two bathrooms, but both are accessed through a bedroom (the master and the bedroom off the kitchen). So, the bedroom downstairs (my sons called it the dungeon) is isolated with the laundry room, which contains the one twin bed that I cannot imagine having anyone sleep in and storage for toys and games.

Realistically, this home is good for six people (though two more could sleep in the spacious living area) mostly due to the limited bathrooms. As for hosting a party, there is plenty of space in the living area, just make sure you drain the stand alone a/c unit ahead of time so that it doesn't turn off in the middle of the festivities.

As for location, my little nephew loved being able to walk down and look at the small planes along the air field. I also appreciate the family history associated with this property and the air field.

If I had it to do over again, I would probably rent one of the newer homes down by the Spokane River Gorge, even though I picked this house to be closer to the wedding venue. Though, as I've already said, my wife would stay here again.

Owner's Response: The house was built in 1986 and has been well maintained over the years, so things like lighting, and a kitchen remodel have not been done. The pictures show this. That being said, updates like new furniture have been done. Not to mention replacing the mauve carpet that was in the master bedroom and bathroom. ;) Many homes in Spokane do not have central air and neither does this house, in the amenities there is no mention of AC as I don't want to over sell. When groups larger than 4 book the house I always call the potential renter and explain the layout of the house and the bathroom set up. Your reservation stated that there would be only 2 guest.
