Overview

About the property

Experience Nature At Its Best, Without Giving Up Comfortable Amenities

Come relax and let all your worries float away as you relax on a private deck while listening to a babbling creek. Warm your toes with a crackling fire, as you watch the sun slowly dip behind the mountains.

Keep your eyes keenly attentive to the many opportunities to see wildlife at its best. It is very common as you pour your first cup of coffee, to see a bald eagle perched in a tree across the creek. Nearby a deer is going about it's daily activities unaware of your presence, and trout finding its first meal of the day in the clear water just off the edge of the bank.

This cottage features a fully equipped kitchen with many on hand ingredients ready to whip up your favorite meal. Comfortable living room with a leather sleeper sofa, large flat screen T.V., as well as a gas wood stove to take the chill out of those chilly nights. A cozy bedroom with a queen size bed, nice size bath with freshly washed towels and linens.

Attractions: Centrally located to many interests, Finger Lakes Wineries, Breweries, High class restaurants, Trout fishing, Hiking, and endless amount of state land for hiking and bird watching. There is also two kayaks/ life jackets, and fishing gear available to make your stay that much more enjoyable.

Why Nate and Tara Potter chose Owego

This home is perfectly situated to enjoy wildlife, as well as swimming, fishing, kayaking, hiking, shopping, and many more activities.

What makes this cottage unique

When we first saw the natural beauty of the surrounding area, it was love at first sight! It has been said, we have the nicest view of Owego Creek, and we would have to agree. The sounds of nature, and the creek, have a nice calming effect. You will enjoy it as much as we do!

Wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

This is the sweetest property! Beautiful surroundings. The cottage itself was perfect! Very tastefully decorated! The kitchen has everything you need to feel at home. The view of the creek and the soothing sounds are wonderful! Sitting on the deck with a fire was priceless. The added bonus for me was the faint sound of a train in the distance. I love the long slow sound of a train whistle! The bed and bedding was comfortable especially the extra thick comforter from the armoire in the living room!😁 Nate and Tara thank you for sharing a bit of heaven!

Very nice cottage in a lovely setting. A perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle. The running creek adjacent to the property is mesmerizing.

This cottage is simply wonderful!

  • 5 of 5

My family of 4 spent 4 nights at the Potters’ cottage in mid-August. I grew up nearby Owego, and it is so cool to see how the town is marketing itself as a tourist destination. There are so many things to do nearby Owego and beyond, and a lot of information in the cottage to guide you. You can also just hang out, enjoy the cottage’s countless amenities, and relax. The cottage was beyond immaculate and so comfortable. We really appreciated the attention to cleanliness and organization throughout the cottage. The kitchen had everything to include a Kitchenaid mixer which we used to make chocolate chip cookies on a rainy day. My parents live nearby and loved visiting. The Potters were so gracious to check on us during the incessant rain one evening, and we were grateful and just fine. Rain and shine, it was a lovely getaway. The scenery and bird-watching were awesome. We appreciated all of the timely communications in advance with Tara. We will certainly be back again. And PS - we loved it and thank you!
