is well equipped to make your stay here a trip that you will never forget. A perfect place to stay in beautiful Girdwood, Alaska.
This property is special. You truly feel as though you are alone deep in the forest while being only a couple minutes from the resort and all the fun Girdwood has to offer. The architecture and design of this house is perfect. Just out your back door are the Virginia creek falls and there are views from every room. Sarah does an excellent job of accommodating guests through quick communication and flexible scheduling. We will definitely be back here.
We would definitely return to this property.
The home was very nice in every way. Using the garage was a bonus, it was raining off and on. We had two couple vacationing together and spend the bulk of the day together on activities. When we returned there was plenty of spaces for some separate couple time, so we weren't with each other constantly. Kept the trip upbeat.
The Bedroom views are great. We had sunny, cloudy, rainy weather and the mountain was right there, then disappeared, then back again and it feels like you can touch it.
I liked I could get up early and work on business correspondence and calls without disturbing others, letting others sleep in, and be done and ready for fun when everyone was up.
We rented the mountain house for the week of my wedding for several of our friends to stay with us and we were so happy we did!
The house is beautiful and an amazing place to host friends. We had ten people staying with us and it never felt too crowded. There are only two bedrooms and then various pull out couches in the living room and upstairs lofts.
The house is full of modern amenities like a steam shower, six person hot tub, and beautiful kitchen that made it fun to cook group meals.
The wide open spaces were put to good use as we frantically prepped for the wedding the night before. It was a mini wedding sweat shop with irons and steamers going full blast.
The path to Max's Mountain and Virgin Falls is right out the back doors.
Sarah, the property manager, was very friendly and easy to work with. She was so kind to offer us late checkout since it was going to be the day after the wedding and there weren't any guests immediately checking in.
My only regret is that my husband and I didn't get to lounge in bed longer. It was all late nights and early mornings, but we did take time to admire the view one afternoon, which is stunning.
We stayed here three nights to enjoy skiing and a small birthday party for our young daughter. This place is huge and wonderful in virtually every way. The only "problem" I can think of is the fact that there are only two bedrooms in such a cavernous home. The sleeper sofas worked fine for our extra guests, so not a huge deal for a short stay such as ours. However, large parties seeking a longer term stay may want a place with more private bedrooms.
We will very likely book again to stay here in the future. We have rented many homes in Girdwood, AK and this is the only truly private home (huge property - no neighbors to see) that we have found. Awesome.
We rented this property for a photography retreat and had the most amazing time.
The property manager Sarah went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care of, including making a trip to Anchorage! We'll be coming back here again and again.
Girdwood is a year-round ski resort community in Alaska. It lies in a valley in the Chugach Mountains near the end of the Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet, 36 miles (61 km) southeast of Anchorage proper.
It is surrounded by seven permanent glaciers. Summer activities include hiking, fishing , rafting and mountain biking but Girdwood is best known for winter skiing and snowboarding at Alyeska Resort on Mount Alyeska. Girdwood has the northernmost rain forest in the world. Many visiters choose to base their Alaskan vacation out of Girdwood because of it's small unique mountain side community.
