My husband, who is Dutch/Irish, and I ( I am Puerto Rican descent) met 20 years ago. When we first met, he asked me when was the last time I had been to the Island. I was born and raised in New York and only had a faint memory of visiting when I was a toddler. So he purchased tickets and off we went to the motherland and we fell in love with it and have been treking back to Puerto Rico every since. We always find something different to do, and enjoy our stay every time.
Lillian and Peter Schermerhorn purchased this condo in 2008
We stayed in Dorado Beach when the thought hit us that we might as well buy a condo since we enjoyed the Island so much. However, everywhere we looked, the properties were sold out. A friend had just come back from Puerto rico and told us about this property. Not having much time to furnish and decorate the place, we decided to purchase the model. It was the best decision we have ever made.
8 minutes from the airport. Close proximity to many recreational activities and shopping. And , of course, the beautiful beaches!
My husband and I planned a last minute getaway and wound up staying for 10 days at Puerta Del Mar. The apartment was absolutely beautiful, clean and well maintained. Close to the airport. We went snorkling, skating, did a day trip to the Camuy Caves and even managed a trip to the Zoo. In between we lounged on the beach or by the infinity pool with its spectacular view of Crash Boat Beach. Great Vacation!
Our family enjoyed every moment we had in Puerto Rico. The condo had everything we needed. We would definitely do it again.
We were hoping for an ocean view apartment with a bigger comfy bed. We were very impressed with the fully equipped kitchen and cleanliness of the apartment. Lillian was very helpful with our schedule. Early check in was so appreciated!!! :)
We picked this property because of the beautiful view from the infinity pool where we three couples spent a lot of our time watching the gorgeous sunsets. The property is spacious, clean and beautifully decorated. It had everything you needed for a great stay. Crash Boat was great as were several of the other beaches we visited. We're planning on going back!
We have been renting out the Schermerhorn's beautiful condo for the past 4 years on family vacations. The unit is always clean and they are quick to answer any questions that we have had. The condo is spacious and near crashboat beach. The infinity pool is breathtaking. I will continue to rent and recommend this condo to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation in Aguadilla. Thank you Mr & Mrs. Schermerhorn.
This is my fourth time staying at Puerta Del Mar and just love it! It is very relaxing and love how friendly most people are either that live or work there. This property was nice, it has everything you would need on vacation, e.i towels, beach chairs & cooler. I noticed the cleanness was not so great, there was bunnies of dust in the bedroom floors, the bathroom sinks were dirty with what it looked like to be other people's water and toothpaste splashes when brushing teeth, and the AC in the living doesn't work. Also most of the kitchen utensils to cook with were burnt with old oil so we really didn't do much cooking, and by cooking i mean at least breakfast because there is way too much delicious food places around to go eat! The location of the parking spaces was excellent, I was told by Lillian we would find another set of keys for the unit inside but there wasn't, so had to plan out with the in laws since they would leave to do their own activities, I contacted Lillian right away but didn't receive a response.
Unfortunately this time around the infinity pool which is the main reason we love it so much was "under construction" and was out of service the whole time we were there, not that it's the owner's problem but i feel that there should be some communication between the property and owners when stuff like this happens especially if its going to take a week to fix.
