3-Level Northwoods-Style Lodge, 6 Bedrooms, 4 Full Baths With Lakeshore View

Cabin charm meets first-class amenities in our north woods lodge, nestled on Leech Lake’s spectacular Pine Point. The lodge itself is worth the trip, complete with all the comforts of home presented with the warmth of a north woods cabin. Our back yard boasts a fabulous view of Leech Lake. A protected harbor nearby, with a boat launch and a slip to moor your boat, makes lake access worry-free.

Come for some of Minnesota’s best year-round fishing, bike trails, bird watching, water sports, snow shoeing, cross country skiing and more. There’s plenty to do year round. Or hunker down in our 5000+ square-foot home for hobby time or a relaxing retreat with a few good books.

With 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms, our home comfortably sleeps 14 people. A generously sized great room, a screened in porch, and a walkout basement with a game room and theater room means plenty of space to stretch out and be entertained even when the weather is less than perfect.

Our home is ideal for all groups: families with children of all ages; retreat and activity groups; outdoor adventures; and romantic getaways.

About Kevin & Carol Jacobson

Kevin and Carol have been married for over 3 decades. They are MN natives who live and work in the Twin Cities but whose hearts belong to the north woods lake country. They have vacationed in the Leech Lake area their entire married life. After becoming empty nesters and grandparents, they purchased the newly constructed Pine Point Lodge in 2012. It has been their dream to have a “cabin” in northern Minnesota where they can gather with their growing family and friends.

Kevin & Carol Jacobson purchased this house in 2012

Why Kevin & Carol Jacobson chose Minnesota

Leech Lake boasts about 200 miles of shoreline. It is interesting to navigate, challenging to fish, welcoming for water sports, and gorgeous to gaze upon. Of course, there’s more than lakes up here.

The charming, bayside village of Walker—accessible by road or water—provides shopping, eating, and entertainment that satisfies the interests of people of all ages. The Walker area is a very welcoming community, and after 40+ years of visiting here, we feel like locals.

What makes this house unique

Our home is located on MN's premier Leech Lake on the northeast tip of Pine Point, often highlighted as the best walleye fishing on the lake. The rugged shore line features massive rocks where the waves often crash, creating a marvelous melody of nature that can soothe the soul.

The lodge itself is worth the trip, complete with all the comforts of home presented with the charm of a north woods cabin. Its size and features meet the needs for a variety of guests, and the quiet beauty of the surrounding woods offers a setting of peace and tranquility.

Guestbook comments from the owner

We had a great weekend at the Pine Point Lodge! We left at 11am this morning and followed the check-out procedure. I will definitely be recommending Pine Point Lodge in the future, truly beautiful location and accommodations.

Great House with plenty of room!

  • 5 of 5

We had a large group up ice fishing which was great. At the end of the day there was a place to clean fish and prepare supper. Once everyone would relax there was enough space for all to go there own way without bothering others, some played pool, some watched tv, and other just relaxed. With 4 baths getting going in the morning was a breeze. Great home hope to stay again. Thanks

They Thought of Everything - Amazing Lodge with Every Detail & Amenity

  • 5 of 5

Honestly, I almost hate to leave a review because I don’t want to create competition to book this place. But I’ve decided it’s too good not to share (plus I already booked for next year), so here goes…Very conveniently located on the lake next to great fishing in Trader’s Bay and off Pine Point itself. We caught enough walleyes in one afternoon of fishing to have a great fish fry in which all participated and we still had fish leftover. It is also nice to be next to Grand Vu Lodge, which provides ready access to ice, gas, boats and a Pontoon if you need them, and cold tap beer. The owners are very organized, and provided clear check in/out instructions and a list of dos and don’ts to maximize everyone’s enjoyment of the property. Like the owners, the kitchen was very organized with labels on virtually every cabinet drawer and drawer front describing what is inside. This was terrific and made the kitchen very easy to use. I could say more here, but it suffices to say the kitchen has everything you will ever need…..everything. Really, really good Wi-Fi. One member of our group had to remote in to conduct several net meetings and he did not experience any issues. We have a multi-family group of fourteen (14) with 8 adults and 6 kids from ages 3-19 and there was more than enough sleeping space. Between the man cave, theater room, screen porch, deck, and back-yard, there is also more than enough space to keep you from feeling like you are on top of each other. The teenagers commandeered the upstairs bonus room (which also had an abundance of toys for my 3-year-old daughter which was a welcome surprise and really came in handy on rainy days) and they commented at the end of the week how nice it was to have a space in which they could, surprise, surprise…..sleep-in, without being disturbed by the first morning coffee. It rained a lot during our week. No problem, again: man cave, theater room, screen porch = darts, pool, bubble hockey, books, movies, and video games (we brought a game system just in case). Very clean and beautifully landscaped home. It is very obvious Kevin and Carol are paying close attention to the maintenance of this property: it looks brand new, it is extremely clean inside and out, and we did not run across anything that was either broken or did not work properly. If you are looking for a terrific space for a large group, stop. Jacobson’s Pine Point Lodge is the north country gem for which you’ve been searching.

Owner's Response: We have worked hard to think from a "traveler" perspective to try and provide what is needed for a fabulous family vacation. Since we also use VRBO homes when we are travelers, this has helped us to know what is "nice to have" when vacationing in someone else's home.

Great Lodge on Leech Lake for Ice Fishing

  • 5 of 5

This is our 2nd year coming to their cabin, and its been perfect both years. We have a group of 9-10 guys that go on an annual Ice Fishing Trip, & We have stayed all over on a variety of lakes over the years. Jacobson's Pine Point Lodge again is easily the best. Property is in a perfect spot, and lakefront so we can walk right out on lake. More than enough room for Large Dinners, Cards, and Movie Theater Room is great. Fishing we catch Walleyes, Northerns, Nice sized Perch etc. right out front. Its just a very relaxing place to stay, there is so much room in the house.

Needless to say, we will be heading up again next year. Like I said we really bounced around for years for Ice Fishing Trips trying different Lakes & Resorts, and its been unanimous both years when we leave that everyone wants to come back and stay here again.

Thanks Again for Letting us Enjoy your place, J Lamminen

Owner's Response: Pine Point on Leech Lake boasts one of the best walleye fishing spots on the lake. In the winter, there are multiple ice villages that populate the area around our lodge. Several area resorts also keep the ice roads nicely plowed for easy navigation. It's also an easy walk out on the lake from our lodge.
