This newly constructed detached villa is located in a quiet residential area, within walking distance from the beach, shops and restaurants in one of Menorca’s most delightful resorts. Binibeca has been popular with visitors for many years. Besides the gently sloping, safe sandy beach there are many other delightful attractions such as the quaint fishing village, with its narrow streets, the array of shops and the many restaurants, some offering family entertainment during the evenings.

"Good location - near the airport but that does mean some noise. There are no real sea views" - just a glimpse above a cement mixer and scaffolding tower. There was building work around the villa on three sides and the outlook was a building site at the back with two unfinished villas to either side - however the work was not noisy nor very active when we were there. We were disappointed with the welcome - no welcome pack as we've had elsewhere - no cleaning stuff provided for example so we had to buy these things. The villa was new but some things were poorly finished - towel rails, loo roll holders and curtain poles falling off the walls and no basin plug for example. The air con unit in the main bedroom didn't work properly.

The local rep. was unhelpful and off hand when we asked if we could leave later as we had a late flight and she then advised us not to go back after it was cleaned as previous customers had done - suggesting that we were not to be trusted. The villa was well laid out and compact with a good sized clean pool although some of the tiles were missing in the pool and loose on the patio. It is convenient for Binibeca for eating out, although the food there was disappointing and expensive compared to elsewhere on the island. Binibeca itself is very busy and has no atmosphere or authenticy. There is no real beach - just rocky shoreline.

Although having good access to the pool (ramps), wide doors and being a bungalow the villa doesn't have the additional things which would help people with disabilities. We travelled with an elderly person and she couldn't use the bath as it didn't have hand grips."

OK but nothing luxurious

A nicely laid out, simple villa that was clean and neat - it is new, so would expect this. It is furnished with basic furniture and a well equipped kitchen. The pool was clean though had some tiles missing, but water was always clean. The villa has three building sites out of the four sides and whilst there was not work going on, it did spoil the view somewhat and it was the spanish holidays when we were there, so if there was work going on, it may be a problem. The overall feel of the villa was OK but nothing special.

The local area is very nice, restaurants looked after the children well, and it all has a nice feel about it. It is quiet, no resorts and popular with the spanish, which tells a story in itself. A really nice part if the island with some beautiful coastline.

Binibeca is in the Golden Triangle of Menorca away from busy hotels yet only 15 minutes drive from the port side restaurants of Mahon and Es Castell. Well worth a visit too, is the nearby town of San Luis with its many fine restaurants and market square. The resort of is made up of two separate areas; Binibeca Vell, which was designed by the famous Catalan architect, Antonio Sintes, in the 70’s to look like a genuine old Mediterranean fishing village with a maze of narrow alleys, Moorish arches, whitewashed houses with sun-soaked patios, and a little harbour. It’s a quaint, quiet and laid-back place with restaurants, bars, shops and squash courts. In contrast, Binibeca Nou has a gorgeous, sandy beach with sufficient space for sunbathing. It is 130m in length and 180m wide having fine golden sand and still waters, making it ideal for children. Low mountain vegetation surrounds the area and it is well sheltered from the sea by a large jutting rock and sand dunes to the rear.
