If you're looking for the ultimate in a relaxing vacation visit Watch Island, Tupper Lake, located in the beautiful Adirondack Mountains of upstate New York. The summer climate is wonderful and the island is basically a private theme park where you can relax and read while enjoying scenic lake views, fish from shore, from a kayak or boat. We fished the coves and reeds and it was great. Lot of sun, perch and large mouth bass ranging from 1 and 1/2 pounds up to 6 and 1/2 pounds. Something was always biting. We enjoyed cruising the lake on the pontoon. There is a 50 foot water slide the kids loved !! The master cabin has a stunning view of the lake and is well equipped with nice kitchen / dining facilities and comfortable den area. The bunk houses are clean and have comfortable beds. Very nice NEW bath house and laundry.
There are lots of activities available nearby off the island (we didn't pursue any because we were just SO RELAXED and HAPPY on the island) and grocery shopping is just minutes away in town. For me Watch Island will be hard to beat !!
We loved our stay on Watch Island! We search every year for the perfect spot for our large family reunion. We will look no more!! Grandparents, parents, kids and dogs have found their heaven! Thoughtfully stocked and furnished, very attentive and communicative owners and a friendly, helpful caretaker made this our best trip yet! Thank you for a week of relaxation and fun!
Great set up! Love the many docks, that's nice for guests to have time to get away from the rest of the group for a bit. And the scenery is just gorgeous. I do love the kitchen cabin and deck area. It was an awesome week and you've done a wonderful job with the upgrades.
I'm happy to read that there will be another "outhouse", it was inconvenient to only have one bathroom when it was shared the room with the shower. That'll make a huge difference.
Great stay and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Island to another family, especially with dogs.
This is an amazing place!! The lake is beautiful and the cottages are awesome. The place is just as the owner describes. The lake is so quiet it's almost like a private lake! We went with 4 adults and 5 kids (age 6-11) and had plenty of room. We had fun swimming, boating, kayaking, canoeing, sliding!, and more. I highly recommend.
We have rented several camps in Tupper Lake but none have rivaled this one. We were a little worried about renting an island bit this one has everything you need to make your stay perfect and is just a short (5 to 10 minutes) boat ride from the main land. The cabins are very clean and nice. The bathroom is very nice as well. The main cabin has new appliances and beautiful views. The rental comes with a pontoon boat which would be very expensive to rent (and there are no rentals in tupper lake). It also comes with canoes kayaks and more. The owner and caretaker were very accommodating and responsive. If you want to experience the Adirondacks I would highly recommend you give this place a try.
