Comfortable and cozy...4 Br/2-1/2 Ba Log Home with Views of Kachemak Bay!

Wild Shore Escape is a tri-level authentic log home built in 1983.We are available year round for rental! The three floors are connected by an elegant steel spiral staircase. It provides that cozy Alaskan ambiance with wide open views of Kachemak Bay and the Homer Spit. Our cabin gives you the rustic Alaskan feel while providing modern creature comforts. If the weather is rainy, you will feel snug and comfy here. If the weather is nice you can open up the french doors and enjoy the fresh air and beautiful views.

About Kim Winslow

My husband, Eric and I bought our property with a dream of building a log cabin in 1983. As our family grew, so did the cabin! Eric is a commercial Salmon fisherman, so while he is busy with the Fishing Season, I run the vacation rental! We are happy to share the cabin with you, our special guests!

Kim Winslow purchased this cabin in 1983

Why Kim Winslow chose Kenai Peninsula

We love our location because it is out of the hustle bustle of town, but just far enough. It is a short 10-15 minute drive from Homer and the World famous Spit! And only 1/2 mile from Fritz Creek General store/deli, and The Homestead Fine Dining restaurant. (We highly recommend both!)

What makes this cabin unique

You will fall in love with our views of the Bay and Mountains in the daytime and the twinkling lights on the spit at night. It is quietly situated away from the hustle and bustle of life. Sit out on the deck and take in the beauty and clean air!

Our stay at Kim and Eric Winslow's beautiful log home, was perfect. They are great hosts, and it was a wonderful setting. We hope to come back and stay there again.

Great views

  • 3 of 5

Private setting with great views way out of town. Enjoyed the stay but the downstairs odor was offensive. Dogs apparently live in the downstairs when not rented. Enjoyed speaking with the owners. Property was as advertised but the downstairs was not enjoyable.

Owner's Response: I have never had a complaint about the basement before. I am sorry that you found it offensive. In an effort to address this problem, I have purchased an Oreck Air Cleaner. There are no animals living in the basement at any time, and the carpet and pad is new as of April of this year.

Loved our stay!

  • 5 of 5

Couldn't have asked for more during our stay in Homer. The views were amazing right from the deck and we had a cow moose and her calf in the yard every night. Everything we needed to be comfortable was right there in the cabin. The Winslow's were very hospitable, Very nice people and hosts. Thanks for making our stay that much better.

Alaskan Perfection

  • 5 of 5

Our stay was absolutely perfect. We had 2 couples with one 12 year old son. There was plenty of space for all of us with 4 bedrooms and 2.5 baths, kitchen, living room, dining room, mud room, etc..

Eric & Kim are wonderful hosts and we so enjoyed the beautiful house and surroundings. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to fulfill their Alaskan Adventure.

We will definitely be staying here again on our next Alaskan Trek!!!
