Your Tranquil Retreat On Lake Winnipesaukee!

Bedrooms 2
Space 1,400 sq. ft.
Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 7 nights

About the property

300 Feet Of Secluded Shore W/ Private Dock. Sleeps 4-6. Wheelchair Accessible.

This little piece of heaven sits on a private wooded acreage with 300 feet of Winnipesaukee lakefront, including a large L-shaped breakwater that provides a protected harbor for your boat and excellent bass fishing. There is also a sandy stretch along the shore for those who love barefoot wading and swimming. The water is crystal clear.

The house is a 1930’s classic set under towering pines, with a clearing that can accommodate several vehicles or outdoor games. The lower half of the house (the rental) has since been remodeled in contemporary style with a fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms (queen and twins), and full bath. The entire west side of the great room is glass sliders, presenting the glistening lakefront and gorgeous sunsets. The great room has a a marvelous stone fireplace, for a chilly evening. There is also a beautiful sectional, with two recliners, where you can snooze or enjoy the flat screen television. The great room also has a dining table that seats six to eight. Or you can have your refreshments outdoors, seated on the patio furniture.

The private dock can accommodate a boat up to 18 feet and about 2,500 pounds. There is boat ramp and full service marina about three miles north in Melvin Village. There is another boat ramp a few miles south at Nineteen Mile Bay.

Beautiful Abenaki Tower is only a half mile up the road from the cottage, offering extraordinary vistas of Tuftonboro Neck and Melvin Village. Be sure to bring your camera!

The lovely town of Wolfeboro is only a 15-minute drive south, with chic shops, restaurants and lots of fun activities. Not far to the north sits the majestic Castle in the Clouds, which draws visitors from all over the world!

This extraordinary rental property sleeps 4-6 and is wheelchair accessible though the bathroom doorway is narrow. In fact, you can drive a car or van right up to the front door with no steps to obstruct you. We also accept pets, but require a non-refundable pet fee. A washing machine and dryer are always at your disposal.

If you’re thinking “peaceful isolation” rather than busy condos and tourist congestion, this is the perfect spot. A little piece of heaven on fabulous Lake Winnipesaukee!

Note: You must be 25 or older to rent this property. A maximum of two families are permitted.

Because the floors of the house are completely divided with separate entrances and amenities, the owner's presence (periodic) will pose no interference or inconvenience to you during your stay. Guests always have priority access to the yard, dock and lake front. The private dock will accommodate a boat up to 18 feet and about 2,500 lbs. There is a boat ramp about three miles north in Melvin Village and another ramp a few miles south at Nineteen Mile Bay. If you plan to bring a boat, you should bring your own bumpers, lines and other gear to safety dock your boat. Use of the dock is entirely at the renter’s risk. A tip on buying groceries: While there is a convenience store at nearby Nineteen Mile Bay and a couple small grocery stores in Wolfeboro, they have limited stock and are expensive. We recommend stopping at a real supermarket before you get to the Lakes Region, where the product variety and prices will be better.

Peaceful Paradise

  • 5 of 5

Our family of 4 (2 girls ages 12 & 14) and our dog stayed at this home for 2 weeks in August. The location is absolutely gorgeous, right on the lake with a small beach and swimming area where the kids and dog spent hours swimming. The dock was perfect for our 17' boat and we loved that it was protected from the waves of the open water. The house itself is very clean, comfortable, and stocked full with books, puzzles, and games. The sunsets at this house are extraordinary and we spent a lot of time sitting outside enjoying the view. This is the perfect spot for a relaxing vacation. Close enough to visit many of the attractions in the area without being in the middle of the touristy night life areas. We were all sad to leave and are looking forward to returning next year!

Nice week on Winnipesaukee!

  • 5 of 5

My family (4) had a great time at the comfortable, spacious cottage. The rock breakwater, wooden dock and sandy beach area were a great mix for our young girls. They were able to swim from shore, jump from the dock and fish from all areas of the water front. Blueberries on the breakwater were an added bonus. A fire pit outside provided a great setting for listening to the loons and star gazing.

Looking to get away and have fun on the water or relax on the quiet, private shoreline. Got any water crafts, bring them plenty of space with easy access.

Hoping to return again!

The nearby Castle in the Clouds is certainly worth a visit. You can take a tour through the magnificent old mansion, which overlooks the lake from its lofty peak, or spend an afternoon exploring the splendid grounds and picnicking.

We would also recommend a lake tour on the Mount Washington, a large steel-hulled boat that puts in at Wolfeboro, Alton Bay and Weirs Beach. They sometimes have special dinner cruises, jazz cruises, leaf-peeper cruises and the like.

As autumn comes on, the colors are magnificent, stretching up into the White Mountains to the north. Peak color is generally around Columbus Day. Gorgeous!
