About Kraig Mueller
This cottage is co-owned by the Mueller and Brenner families. Our grandfather was a family doctor in nearby Princeton, Wisconsin for 50 years. He purchased the property for his own family's enjoyment. The cottage has been passed down through 3 generations and has been modernized for the family's continued enjoyment.
Why Kraig Mueller chose Green Lake
Large flat property with stunning views of Green Lake and immediate access to swimming, fishing, and boating. Large sand pile by the lake is perfect for young children. Classic cottage with all the modern amenities and conveniences. 36 hole Lawsonia golf course is 5 minutes away.

Not all the owners fault. Could of had someone turn on air conditioners before arrival.
House smelled musty until air conditioning ran a day. The mosquitos are not the owners fault, but couldn’t walk outside without being attacked. Other then that could have been nice.
We open all the windows when we visit the cottage to get a good cross-breeze and enjoy the sounds of the lake. Sorry for the stale air. Glad the air conditioners were able to help. Also, we're very sorry you had such a tough time with the mosquitos....if only that was something we could control, we certainly would! Thanks for staying at our cottage and we hope you'll visit us again.
Another Excellent Stay in Green Lake!
Cannot say enough about this wonderful cottage. It's very homey! We sailed, kayaked and canoed the whole week. The cottage is adorable and the kids had the best time in the sandpile. Thanks for a wonderful week of priceless memories.
Fun on Green Lake brought some frustrations!
Summer vacation is important to everyone, especially our group! We spend a great deal of time looking for the "perfect place" with great water access for boating, tubing and floating. If the water is the only thing that matters to you, you will be happy with this rental. The pier is in really poor condition. In fact, my husband stepped on a weak board and fell through!!! The pier was repaired, however a number of other "weak" boards were marked so we wouldn't get hurt on them. The pier needs some serious attention.
The home is advertised as a 4 bedroom, but it is actually a 3 bedroom. There is a 4th bed at the top of the stairs and curtains are used to provide privacy. If your group is fine with this, you will have no problems. If anyone in your group is tall, the upstairs will not work for you. My husband is over 6 feet and the ceiling fans could have easily given him a haircut!! (just be aware of the that).
The house has potential, but many things need some real tender loving care. The dryer is missing the on off knob. There is a sign on the dryer that says "turn gently" with a needle nose pliers to suffice as the knob. There was an ant invasion in the bathroom off the kitchen. We treated the ants during our stay, but it was not pleasant having ants marching across the kitchen counters during the day. Our first pot of coffee was found covering the kitchen floor, because of a leaking coffee pot. We had to purchase our own coffee maker for the stay. The home was not clean on arrival. Thank goodness, we brought supplies and cleaned as we moved in. The neighbors on each side of the rental property were super nice and welcoming!! However, there were renters a few homes down the street who brought their children over to play in the sand and use the swing on our property. This didn't settle well with our dog. Despite our requests for them to leave, they told us that "they knew the owners and it was alright......sorry, not while we are renting!" I wish I could give this place a better review, but given the time we took to find the right place for our 2016 family vacation, we were not impressed. The weather was perfect! The water was clear and great for floating, tubing and swimming. And of course, the company was excellent as always!! Sorry, Kraig, the house was a disappointment.
Thanks for your review. We are sorry your experience was not up to your expectations. Actually, we are very sorry our cottage was a disappointment. We strive to have one of the best places on Green Lake.
Items, concerns and issues do arise from time to time. All situations can only be addressed when we are notified immediately. Our property is registered and inspected as a tourist rooming house by the state of Wisconsin. (Facility #JPUR-9GQS72)
These vacations are priceless family times for all. Families have enjoyed our cottage for over 31 years; celebrating birthdays, anniversaries and even a wedding in the front yard. We hope all of our guests want to return year after year.
Beautiful Green Lake
Our stay at this cottage was perfect. There's lots of room for family with four bedrooms and two baths. Only a few steps to the pier where we skied, floated in inner tubes, kayaked, canoed (was provided), played yard games, huddled around an outdoor fire, slept under the shade of the huge pine trees covering the large deck. Kitchen amenities were all we needed and there was plenty of parking for our family. Seven to ten of us were there during our week's stay. We're planning on staying there again next year.
We grew up with weekends at the cottage with extended family and were looking for a place to have that kind of experience with our children and grandchildren. This property fit our needs very well. What fun! It's a rambling place that seems to have grown over the years to meet the needs of the the original owner. It came complete with family pictures, which all helped to make us feel like we were part of the family. The sand pit in the front yard provided hours of fun for the kids. We had 6 adults, 2 children under 7, and 1 dog. Steps led down to the dock. Fire pit was perfect for roasting marshmallows. We spent lots of time on the deck. Lots of tables and chairs to accommodate a large group for all our meals, and it was a great place to watch the lake from. Master bedroom on the ground level had the laundry included, which was perfect for our active group. Green Lake (village of) was only a few miles away with restaurants, shopping, etc. No granite countertops or hot tubs here, but if you are looking for a grand old cottage with lovely quirks and comforts, this is the place! We look forward to going back for more summer family gatherings.
