Stay in one of the finest and most luxurious villas on Lake Atitlan! Private and secluded waterfront property with a spectacular view of three volcanoes but just a ten minute walk from the bustling village of San Marcos. Amenities include the only heated pool available on the rental market along with lush botanical gardens, a spacious waterfront deck and private pier with swimming ladder, large hot tub with adjacent outdoor fireplace and lounging area, multiple terraces, and three floors of spacious living verandas overlooking the Lake and spanning the length of the house. The house itself is very well appointed with fine Guatemalan antiques and outstanding examples of local ceramics, textiles, crafts, and an exceptional art collection throughout including works by Palma, Guillermo, and Maldonado amoung others. Plush towels abound and high thread count bedsheets complement high quality mattresses, multiple pillows, and fine bed linens. Wifi throughout the house and extending to patio and pool areas, satellite DIRECTV with U.S. stations, and a fully equipped kitchen ( and we mean "fully" including spices and many condiments), and twice weekly house cleaning with optional laundry services available round out the house amenities. AND we offer full CONCIERGE SERVICES- transfers to and from the airport in Guatemala City or Antigua and the house, chef services, food shopping services, on site massage, on site language lessons, private daily boat rental, and the booking of a variety of activities around the Lake ranging from volcano climbing to horse back riding to paragliding. We may not be the cheapest alternative around the Lake but there is a reason for that. This house has everything and is designed for relaxation and comfort. Why not the best?

THE BEST HOUSE ON THE LAKE! AMAZING VACATION!

  • 5 of 5

WOW, WOW WOW! OUR EXPECTATIONS WERE FAR EXCEEDED WITH THIS HOUSE, IT IS SIMPLY GORGEOUS, THE VIEWS ARE INCREDIBLE, AND THE STAFF ON SITE WERE SO KIND AND WONDERFUL. HAVING A HEATED POOL AND HOT TUB WAS A SUPER PLUS AS IT DID GET COLDER AT NIGHT, THE PROPERTY MANAGER ON SITE ALWAYS EAGER TO PLEASE. ANYTHING WE NEEDED...A CALL TO THE TUK TUK FOR A RIDE INTO TOWN, OR TAKING THE POOL COVER OFF, HEATING THE SPA, ETC. THE FURNISHINGS AND DECOR ARE GORGEOUS IN THIS HOUSE. WE SIMPLY HAD AN AMAZING VACATION, WE DID TRAVEL TO MOST OF ALL THE OTHER VILLAGES, AND SAN MARCOS WAS OUR FAVORITE, AND I AM 100% SURE I CHOSE THE BEST HOUSE ON THE LAKE!!!

Little slice of heaven

  • 5 of 5

This home is very beautiful in every respect....furniture, amenities, staff, location...sit in the jacuzzi and stare across the lake to the distant volcanoes, paddle out on the water and go for a swim, walk into town for dinner....you will return home completely relaxed!

Found our new favorite place in all of Central America!

  • 5 of 5

You cannot rave about this place, or the region, enough. The house was fantastic and Antonio and Edgar were top notch stewards for the property. Antonio was also our personal tour guide for several adventures, including tours of many local communities and climbing Vulcan San Pedro. They both speak a little English but if you can communicate with them in Spanish, it opens up a whole new arena of options. Most of the region speaks their local Mayan dialect or Spanish; it's a plus for them if you can speak to them in their language but you can get by everywhere around the lake with English. We had Maria come and cook breakfast for us every day and dinner one night and the food was other worldly. I spend a significant amount of time in Central America and this was by far one of my best trips. You definitely need to go see San Juan, San Pedro, and Santiago de Atitlan. You need to go see Edwin at Happy Tacos in San Marcos. You also need to kayak over to Hotel Jinava (you can see it form the house) and have the Mojitos and chicken fajitas; both are the best around! But by all means, spend as much time as you can/want lounging at the property. The grounds are spectacular; the pool, jacuzzi, fire pit and random sitting areas must be enjoyed. Blaine was fantastic to work with in setting everything up and super responsive. We coordinated a car and driver and boat and driver to get us to and from the airport; highly recommended as a car is not needed. You can Tuk Tuk or boat everywhere, or take a nice walk. We're already planning a return trip back! Our one universal recommendation...BRING EAR PLUGS or run a fan or use a noisemaker as our friends did! Do this and you won't hear a thing. Although the location and setting are perfect, it's right against the road so road noise can be a bit loud. We had seen this in previous reviews but having plenty of travel experience in Central America dictated that we bring them anyways (dogs and chickens don't ever sleep). I toyed with writing an awful review to ensure the place would be available any time we wanted it because IT IS THAT FANTASTIC. Thank you Blaine and Stephanie for one of the most relaxing and recharging vacations we've had in a very long time!

This is a Magical Location!

  • 5 of 5

I think this might be the most scenic location on earth! The best part of our stay was waking up every morning to the view of the lake and listening to all of the birds singing. It doesn't get any better than that! We appreciated the beauty of the house and gardens, and the antique furniture and house decor created by local artisans (weavings, embroidery, paintings, carvings, etc.). We did a lot of kayaking, some swimming, bird watching, walking to neighboring towns, hiking, and taking the water taxies to other towns. We enjoyed the heated pool, and especially the hot tub! San Marcos is a great little village, but if you eat meat buy it in Panajachel or San Pedro (Smokey Joe's!) because San Marcos is a vegetarian enclave. The onsite caretakers (Edgar for a couple days and Antonio for a week) were great! Antonio even took some of our group on hikes, as well as getting the kayaks out and getting the pool and hot tub ready for us whenever requested! He also guided us to a shoe repair shop in the next town so I could have my sandals repaired (thank you, Antonio!). Our stay here exceeded our expectations - we hope to return for a longer stay next time!

Bridesmaids Dream!

  • 5 of 5

I rented this house for my 8 bridesmaids during my Wedding here on Atitlan. It was the most amazing place ever to put up my 8 queens. They never stopped talking about how incredible it was. We even hosted a 25 person brunch, and the owners were so chilled out about it. I really appreciated this house so much, the night before my wedding they drew me a bath upstairs and put out rose petals for me...it was the best way to unwind and get centered for our big day. I will always recommend this house for any groups or family coming to visit...mostly so I can come over and feel like its mine! Thank you so so so so much!

Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your very kind review. And we are happy that we played a small and indirect role in your big wedding day. The rose petal jacuzzi sounds very nice. I will remember that come valentines!

An incredible home that leaves you wanting for nothing!

  • 5 of 5

From the moment we arrived, we knew we were in the best possible place on the Lake. A short walk from the village of San Marcos, yet totally private, this home is more than special. Edgar, Felipe, and Antonio made sure all our needs were met. We will, most certainly return. Thank you, Blaine and Stephanie, for sharing your wonderful home.
