Overview

About the property

3 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms, Sleeps 8

Dig your toes in the beautiful, sugar-like sand situated in front of our luxurious beach home. Effortlessly walk down the boardwalk from the yard, and nestle yourself in a chair on the dunes to enjoy breath-taking views of the subtle waves and the ever-changing sunsets, or grab something to drink and hang out on our covered porch with breathtaking views. Easy travel to the two great beach towns of Apalachicola and Port St Joe.

Bask in the endless sunshine and cool off in the warm waters of the gulf of mexico & cape san blas. Stroll the miles of beach, ride horses along the tides, or drive your vehicle to the end of the cape to see this beautiful place in all directions. At night, cozy up to a bonfire on the beach and enjoy a margarita!

Our relaxing beach home offers serenity at its finest and desolate beaches galore. Bring your friends and family for a weekend of combing the beach for thousands of seashells and keep an eye out for the playful dolphins or the two beautiful bald eagles that frequent our beach, all while relaxing on the screened lanai listening to the peaceful waves.

Our newly renovated home features an entirely updated interior and exterior, all new furniture and beach-themed décor. With two master bedrooms, showcasing king size beds, and a guest bedroom providing a full/twin size bunk bed and trundle bed, there is enough space for everyone. Both master bedrooms feature private decks overlooking the beach. With a quiet entryway suitable for reading and relaxation, as well as a desk and study area, the beach home offers a place to unwind. Vaulted-ceilings and an open floor plan consisting of the large living room, upscale dining area, and optimal kitchen space, make our home perfect for conversing and entertainment.

Park your vehicles under the carport, big enough for two vehicles, and plenty more in the driveway. Rinse off the sand from your feet and the silt in your suit with the outdoor shower, leaving behind any potential messes outside.

Get all your food and supplies in port st. Joe or apalachicola at one of the several grocery stores and convenience stores. Dine at one of the local restaurants offering a variety of selections or sip on some wine at the local wine bar. Cape san blas is a short drive away, where you can check out the scenic beaches, and enjoy the surreal sunsets. Also, nearby is the quaint town of apalachicola, providing great shopping where you can purchase art, décor, souvenirs, and silly knick-knacks. Don’t forget to purchase fresh seafood, and to take a scenic stroll along the tree-lined streets.

Only 5 miles away, enjoy a charter fishing boat and go deep sea fishing where you can not only see dolphins and sharks, but keep the fish you catch and eat them for dinner. Looking for more to do? You can also take a shuttle to the remote island of st. Vincent, where you may see the exotic sandbar deer and numerous species of birds and wildlife. Try to identify the extensive array of vegetation and explore the rugged terrain with optimal views of the forgotten coast. With panama city beach, less than an hour away, feel free to explore the city during its quiet season or set out to watch spring breakers party.

With a variety of options, you’ll have a chance to peacefully enjoy the beach from the home, or set out to explore new towns nearby.

This newly renovated home is certainly a real treasure.

Guest access

Beautiful beachfront home with direct access to the beach with miles of sand right at your feet.

Interaction with guests

We help guests with everything that may need before, during and after their stay with us but let guests enjoy their stay at the home without interruption.

The neighborhood

It is peaceful, quite, and the beaches are deserted. Even in the peak of summer, our beach isn't crowded because most of the homes in the area are second homes and not rented. If you are looking for lots of action on the beach, this isn't the place for you. If you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing vacation with a dog-friendly beach and friendly neighbors, this is the place you want to be.

About Kate & Garrett

My husband and I are serial entrepreneurs currently living in the Silicon Valley. While we have traveled all around the world, the Cape San Blas area and beaches create a sense of tranquility and seclusion, which is unlike any other place. When we're not working feverishly, we're on the beach enjoying the sugar-like sand, watching for dolphins and eagles from our porch, and dipping into warm ocean water during the summer. We also LOVE the 'off season' because it's quiet, relaxing, and there's always a good sunset to catch- it's the best time to visit the house.

Kate & Garrett purchased this house in 2013

Why Kate & Garrett chose North West Florida

We bought our home near Cape San Blas in 2013 and immediately started renovating and remodeling the home, bringing all the luxuries of home, to our beach home. We fell in love with ocean, the tranquility, and the amazing sunsets years ago, while visiting my husband's family over the holidays two years ago. While we have traveled all over the world, we've found that the Cape San Blas area is one of our favorite places to be! Owning this home is our dream come true, and we look forward to sharing it with your family!

What makes this house unique

With the gorgeous and surreal daily sunsets, an unforgettable view of the beach and ocean, and the opportunity to see wild dolphins, countless species of birds, and the ability to comb the beach for sand dollars and shells at a moments notice, buying this home was one of the most satisfying decisions we made.

Guestbook comments from the manager

We had a wonderful time. The house was perfect for us - everything about it was exceptionally nice. I loved the well appointed kitchen with nice appliances. The screened in porch was awesome. The view was spectacular and the beach was inviting. We had perfect weather, and even took a horseback ride on the beach.

Lovely peaceful getaway.

Beautiful beach view just makes this place. Love the decks with the option to enjoy the ocean view from the shaded screened deck or the sunny open decks. Was nice to have ample dinnerware and utensils for cooking. Beautiful place!

Another Great Week on the Forgotten Coast

  • 4 of 5

This was our 4th year to CSB and our 2nd year to stay here. We arrived the night before tropical storm Colin, which, thankfully, was pretty tame. It stirred up the water pretty good, though. It took only 3 days for the water to return to its normal sea-green color. I did notice that the water washed out some of the other boardwalks to the beach just down from us, so we were blessed not to have had that to deal with.

I wrote a review last year about how great a house this is, and only noted two issues we had. The sticker thorns in the grass (which seems to be throughout the whole neighborhood) and the air not getting cold enough. While the stickers were still present this year in the grass (not super great for the pup or us as you really can't go without shoes), the air conditioning worked better this year. When we first arrived, we had an issue with the cable not working in the living area, but Sarah had someone out to fix it within 36 hours from the cable company, which is very impressive for any kind of service call (this was really more of a concern for my husband, as I could totally do without the television for the entire week). They had it working again in less than 30 minutes.

I'd say that one of the best things about staying here is the Sunday to Sunday lease. Most people rent Saturday to Saturday, so while everyone else is gone by 10:00am on Saturday, we really have the whole beach as far as you can see to ourselves. It's wonderful! This year, a large pod of dolphins showed up on Saturday morning to fish and we got a front row seat for about 2 hours. It was an amazing thing to witness.

The only other piece of advice I'd give is that you bring a portable mattress topper if you don't prefer a hard mattress. The master bedroom has one, but the 2nd king room doesn't and it's not too comfy. Otherwise, this home is definitely worth staying at. Very nicely appointed, the kitchen has everything that is needed.

Pretty Place - Perfect Porch

  • 5 of 5

This was our first visit to the Cape San Blas area and loved the area and the house. Spent many hours sitting on the screened in porch reading and sipping margaritas. Every day we saw dolphins, sting rays, many different species of fish and birds. We wanted a quiet and relaxing week and that is just what we got. The house has everything you need in a beach rental and is obviously cared for compared to other beach rentals we have stayed in. You will not be disappointed if you decide to stay here.

Clean and comfortable

  • 2 of 5

We have stayed on this street for the last three years. The house we inquired about was not the house we got. We know this house because we have rented next door. I always google the address I inquire about. This was a first and definately the last. The house was clean, furniture inside was comfortable. Kitchen cabinets outdated and painted. Bring you own pans . Had to wash all kitchen utensils we wanted to use ending up just lining the pans with foil. Television never worked. Patio furniture had old cushions and very uncomfortable.

The house is for lack of a better word, shabby, and uncomfortable.

  • 1 of 5

Very disappointed in the house. The kitchen has no storage for renter's groceries, and the cookware is worn out. The bedrooms are tiny and not connected to the bathrooms. In the description of the house this is very misleading. Lack of carpet in the bedrooms, even if small rugs by the bed, would help one to dust sand off feet. There is not access to the house other than front steps. When we arrived, it was raining profusely, and we had to unpack running up the stairs in the rain! There was no phone number, and took calls to VRBO to find a contact number in order to talk with Sarah about the house.

Must say, doubtful I will ever use vrbo again.

Owner's Response: Hi Judy, Thanks so much for taking the time to review our home. We feel that this review pretty unwarranted - considering that this home was renovated in 2014, shabby isn't a word we (or any of our other guests) would use to describe our vacation home. The description on VRBO is accurate, and we do not state anywhere that the bathrooms are en suite - however there is a bedroom/bathroom on each end of the house, and only a small hall separates the two, so it hasn't been an issue to any of our other guests. As far as carpet - we generally don't keep carpets in the home for cleanliness reasons. As you can imagine sand and dirt are plentiful when a home is directly on the beach. We've taken your request and will add a few small rugs in the bedrooms. Most homes in this flood zone are on stilts - due to the flooding that can occur. As such, there is only one entrance to the home (up a short flight of stairs). We are sorry that you had to carry your groceries up in the rain, we understand that is frustrating! My phone number is included in the pre-arrival instructions, guest book in the home and is also listed on the VRBO listing - and I returned your call 5 minutes after receiving your voicemail. I'm sorry you felt like it was hard to track down my number! Overall - while we feel terrible that you didn't enjoy your stay- your review doesn't reflect the quality of our home. The owners put a lot of time and thought into the renovations to make it as comfortable and enjoyable as possible and are proud of the final result! We wish you the best on your future trips. Sincerely, Sarah Property Manager

Wonderful Family Retreat

We stayed here at the house for the second year in a row and just love it. Everything about the place is wonderful. The beach, the beds, the layout of the home. If you are looking for a great family vacation home this is the one.
