This one story lake home is located on beautiful Clear Lake, Lake City South Dakota. This is an older warm feeling lake cabin with over 60 foot of beautiful lake front property. A sandy landscaped area is located about 10' from the shore and has a campfire pit and paved patio with a table and chairs, close to the water. A quiet place next to the water to have campfires and watch satellites cross the night sky. The cabin faces the lake to the west and has beautiful sunsets that are picture perfect. There are steps with a railing to get you down to the shore, or walk in the grass if you prefer. There is a nice large back yard to play games on and to park your vehicles. The largest oak tree in Marshall County gives plenty of shade over the deck attached to the cabin, along with several other trees. Use the outside patio furniture and picnic table or if its raining, not a problem, go inside and use the all-season room facing the lake. There is a full bed and dresser in each of the 2 small bedrooms, 2 sofa beds in the living room , and a set of bunk beds in the all season room. The kitchen has a electric range, refrigerator-freezer, microwave, water cooler, counter top and sink, and small kitchen table. If the group needs more seating area, then put the food on the kitchen table to serve buffet style and go sit at the 10' picnic table in the all season room. A stool, toilet topper and self standing vanity sink is located in the bathroom. The shower is located in its' own room along with a small towel rack. The cabin has 2 air conditioners and a electric fireplace. Catch bass, perch, crappies, bluegills, walleyes and northern from the aluminum dock. A perfect family retreat that will make memories to last a lifetime.
My dad, son and I, along with three of my nephews very much enjoyed our recent stay on Clear Lake. Don't let the aged look of the cabin deceive you. Yes, it has some years on it, but it was a fantastic place to headquarter for a fishing trip. The place was perfect for us, and more than adequate for a group of hardcore anglers targeting the area lakes. Everything we needed was there, including fish cleaning facilities. We easily parked our three boats on the property, and we were able to plug our onboard charges into power each night.
The view of the lake is spectacular! Great fire pit. Plenty of chairs and tables outside too.
We had the opportunity to meet Lorrie and Carla, the owners, when they stopped by one evening, and they are the nicest people! I will definitely be back and wouldn't hesitate to bring my wife to this sweet little cabin.
When we arrived, we were met by Lorrie and Carla. Both of them were extremely nice and showed us around.
The view and sunsets from the property are just fantastic. We enjoyed gathering outside by the picnic tables and firepit. We also made use of the big table in the porch the one evening that it rained. Our stay with 6 adults and 3 children was comfortable and relaxing. The fishing on Clear Lake was excellent while we were there. We have a couple of meals of fresh fish and we also froze fish to bring home and enjoy.
I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a relaxing stay on a wonderful lake. We would definitely rent it again.
We rented this cabin for a family fishing trip in June of 2015. The owners met us at the cabin and were very helpful telling us about the area and making us feel welcome. We stay at cabins often and this cabin was better stocked than any we have stayed at. There were plenty of towels, kitchenware, extra pillows and bedding. Having a dock at your doorstep is heaven for boaters. In years past, we stayed at a hotel that was 25 minutes away so we were forced to either eat cold lunches on the boat or hook the boat up to the trailer again and drive to town for lunch which took up a huge portion of the day.
The best things about this particular rental:
1.) The dock (of course): I can not tell you how nice it was to be able to tie up for lunch or take a quick nap and then easily jump back in the boat and fish again. It made switching out fishermen a breeze.
2.) Deep water and good fishing: We must have caught and released at least 40 fish over the course of our trip and some of the best fishing was literally within 300 yards of the dock.
3.) The family-sized table on the enclosed porch: It was large enough to accommodate all of our party comfortably with bench seating, and we always had a superb view of the lake. It was cold and rainy for part of our trip so we spent many evenings here playing games and laughing.
4.) The fire-pit on the beach with plenty of chairs for everyone: We brought chairs just in case but found we didn't even need them.
5.) The grill: There is nothing that compares to grilled fish, caught just minutes earlier.
6.) We liked the fact that the shower and commode were in different rooms, it made it quicker and easier to get the fishermen ready and out on the water in the morning.
7.) A good set of stairs down to the beach: It is an easy walk. We couldn't tell this from the photos; it was nice not to have to walk through grass down the hill.
This cabin is not fancy. We had seen the pictures before hand and so expected it to be dated and unfinished looking but it exceeded our expectations and we all agreed it was nicer than it looked in the photographs. It has a rustic appeal and the location more than made-up for any shortcomings. If you are looking for a modern, condo vibe, this isn't the place for you. But if you are looking for good views, good fishing, the convenience of a dock, and a place where you can all eat at the same table, this is the perfect place. We look forward to renting it again and again.
