Great Old Virginia House

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for Thanksgiving while visiting family. Great old Virginia house! Incredible property with pool, tennis courts, large screened in porch by pool with its own kitchen and bathroom! There’s plenty of room to spread out. Super comfy beds, super comfy living room couch. Great stay, wish we were there in the summer!

Cute and quaint but needs lots of work

  • 2 of 5

Charming farmhouse; however this place needs some serious maintenance. Tennis court needs resurfacing and grounds keeping. Home has a good layout but lacks kitchen appliances (sharp knives, sufficient quantity of dishes, only a 4-cup coffee pot). Upstairs hall bath leaked thru to downstairs hallway - appears to have been "cosmetically" repaired. Pool house was a great disappointment - screen porch was OK, but window to kitchen was broken, fridge didn't close, etc. House had roaches in kitchen.

Owner's Response: Wow, thanks for letting me know through a review about your issues instead of calling me. I live 2000 miles away so anything that needs addressing I would appreciate a call Especially about a LEAK!! I HAD a complete set of knives there in a wooden carrier maybe someone stole them. I have never had roaches there, ants sometimes but never roaches.

Great place for a crowd

  • 4 of 5

Stayed a long weekend for a destination wedding in the area. Great facility for a family gathering. Plenty of space to spread out with all the necessary amenities. Beautiful, quaint area. Lots of wildlife and walking distance to the river.

Family end of the summer getaway

  • 5 of 5

Not sure where to start, everything was just great. The house is beautiful, and it was large enough that the 10 of us could sit somewhere quiet and read a book or just sit together and play board games. The living room has a large enough sofa and two chairs for all of us to watch a movie. There is a desk in the living room as well where you could put you lap top on in case you want to connect to the out world. The dining room has a large table as well, the kitchen is nicely stocked, we cooked every night, the microwave is old ( I had seen this in another review) but it works just fine, as does the oven. There is a bedroom, bathroom and laundry room on the first floor. Second floor has three bedrooms and a bathroom. No complaints on uncomfortable beds. The pool was great and we used it everyday we bought our own floats but there is a couple in the pool house, we played tennis as well again we bought some racquets but there are some in the house for you to use. There is also a basketball hoop and that was a lot of fun as well. We even had a daily evening visitor, a deer. We didn't really explore the town or vineyards but fully enjoyed the beautiful house that has so much to offer and we just spent time together away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Virginia is just wonderful, I texted her a few times with questions and within minutes I had a response. The Oza's will definitely be back.

Wonderful stay for family of nine

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful stay! The home was beautiful and well-kept, and the kitchen was well-equipped for making meals together. We enjoyed many of these meals on the backyard deck and grilled outside as well. We also loved having the pool and tennis and basketball courts right in the backyard. Our family of nine included some who have accessibility needs and needs for other special supports. The multiple beds in several bedrooms and the bedroom on the first floor were very helpful for that. We enjoyed Front Porch Coffeehouse and the Dog and Oyster Vineyard nearby!

Perfect Restful Spot

  • 5 of 5

This home was the perfect spot for us to relax and feel like family. The pool was amazing. The beds were extremely comfortable. It felt like we didn't even need to leave the home to feel like we were on vacation.
