We came for a snowboard weekend at Jay Peak and found this to be the perfect unit. It was better than described and had lots of little extras to make our stay enjoyable. Highly recommended!
This property is conveniently located in 10 minutes drive to Jay Peak ski resort.
We stayed there for 4 nights right after Christmas and it was all great.
Owner is a very kind lady and she has a rental management office downstairs, so this is a rental property upstairs above.
On downside it is a relatively steep stairs and low (really low) door into the "recreation room" next to bedrooms, but it is all manageable, especially for the price and for the convenient location.
A couple of family-owned small restaurants are in 1-minute walk, 1.5 minutes of walk get you to the grocery store, which is surprisingly well-packed for the village size.
I would recommend it and I would stay again here.
The property was gorgeous and well taken care of. The beds and bedding were very comfortable and the rooms were just the right size. Karen was friendly and sweet. I would definitely stay there again.
We did have a toddler with us and thankfully we were busy outside most of the time, since the house is not quite baby proof. (Steep stairs, small doorways that didn't fit the gate they provided and low Windows) But if we would be known and brought our gates it wouldn't have been a problem. It was fine for us but I can see it being tough if it rained all weekend. I wasn't unsatisfied at all, but I want to let the next parents know to be prepared.
We had a great experience at this property. A co-worker and I were in the area attending a conference at Jay Peak Resort and found this location to be perfect for us! Karen was very knowledgeable about the area and was very helpful in suggesting places to dine and attractions to see.
Thanks Karen! If we are ever in the area again, your property is our first choice! We will recommend to anyone traveling to this part of Vermont.
We really enjoyed our stay. The suite was clean and perfect for us. As other reviewers mention, there is no kitchen (this is clearly stated in the description) but there are multiple restaurants within walking distance. It is also a short drive to Jay Peak.
Two minor issues you should be aware of:
1. You will need to duck to get through the door to the living room even if you are 5 foot tall. The headroom in the living room itself is fine. Only the entrance is short. Be careful. :)
2. The suite is above a realty office with absolutely no sound proofing. This is a complete non-issue if you are planning on spending your day at the mountain as the office has short hours and at least during our stay no one was there all weekend. However, I would have been a bit uncomfortable if we were there with my loud children during the day on a weekday when the office was open.
Very clean with comfortable beds and lots of space to spread out in. Karen was extremely helpful and gave us great advice about local restaurants and amenities. The suite is upstairs above a real estate company, so there's no one downstairs at night to disturb or be disturbed. The layout is a bit odd, with an incredibly low doorway into the living room, so bumping your head is a danger, but otherwise it's not a problem. Montgomery Center is tiny, so you can walk to most places, with a restaurant next door, and a pub, ski shop, and full grocery/liquor store just a few doors away.
