Overview

About the property

Better than the best hotels in the area; 1224 sf rustic style, beauty, & comfort

Watch the first pink rays of sunrise light up the rim of Bryce Canyon as you gaze out the lofty windows of this spacious second-story vacation suite. Situated in the heart of peaceful Henrieville valley, this large farm home is nestled between its own little creek and mini-wilderness area on one side and tranquil farm land on the other.

Just off Scenic Highway 12, down a private gravel drive and past grandpa’s old pasture, you’ll pass through beautiful flower and vegetable gardens and park in the rear of the home. You’ll have private outside stairway access to the suite with its many windows and panoramic mountain views. The entire 1224 square foot second floor of this large home is yours to enjoy.

The suite’s open floor plan creates a casual, relaxing atmosphere that will accommodate your entire family or group in comfort—or keep the entire suite for just the two of you! Vaulted ceilings, faux antique walls, knotty aspen ceilings, and rustic post and beam accents provide a spacious, homey feeling throughout. You can cook your own meals in the fully furnished kitchen, or eat out at one of several seasonal restaurants a few miles away. You’ll find the two full baths and washer/dryer handy for cleaning up after a long day of outdoor excitement.

When you return to the house to rest from your adventures, curl up on the comfortable couches in the great room to watch a favorite movie on the flat-screen TV and DVD player, or surf the web and send pictures of your unforgettable experiences to your friends and family at home using the free wi-fi access.

The grounds around this home include a large, grassy area for your recreational use. Kids will enjoy playing games on the grass, going down the sixteen-foot tube slide, or exploring the nearby creek. Soak in the ambiance of warm summer evenings around the outdoor fire pit as you toast marshmallows and watch the stars appear. Your memories of this rural home setting will make you want to return again and again!

Located in the center of Utah’s red rock country, you will find some of the most breathtaking views in America within easy driving distance. In addition to seeing the wonders of Bryce Canyon National Park and the Grand Staircase National Monument, several interesting State parks are nearby. Many outdoor activities are also available in the area, such as hiking trails and slot canyons, biking, canyoneering, horseback riding, fishing, wildlife viewing, and ATV tours.

Here is what a recent guest had to say:

"Located quite close to the entrance to Bryce Canyon National Park, this inexpensive accommodation is a rare find. Although it is visible from Route 12, you have NO sense that you are anywhere near a highway once you arrive. The panoramic scenery is complex, sweeping, and riveting. Stellar jays with bold blue bellies, jet black magpies with stark white wings, and tangerine meadowlarks greet you as you drive along the country lane to Sunrise Hollow. Cottontail rabbits dot the lawn, and the moonlight on the landscape at night is mesmerizing. And stargazing on moonless nights here is fabulous!

Once you are inside, you have the entire top floor of a large house to yourselves. The design is original, highly sophisticated, expertly realized, and meticulously finished. Milt and Brenda Rose, most gracious hosts, designed it themselves and completed most of the work on their own. The results are stunning. You are far from the madding crowd, briefly experiencing life on what is literally an extended family farm with every modern amenity at your fingertips. Yet you can jump on the highway and be at Bryce in a nonce. Skip even the 'better' hotels in this area for a genuine and deeply satisfying stay at one sweet slice of heaven. -Dr. Gina Higgins, Marblehead, MA · May 2015"

Why Milt and Brenda Rose chose Henrieville

We built our initial home here in 2009, and the upstairs addition was finished in 2014. Our home is located on what used to be the Rose family farm of approximately 70 acres. I (Milt) grew up here, working the farm as a youngster with my dad and brothers. The farm has long since been divided up among family members, and the old corrals and barn in the hollow next to our home (Sunrise Hollow) had to be torn down, but the area still retains its peaceful atmosphere. Most of our 20 acres lie to the south of the house and consist of wild thickets and brush. The property is bounded 1/2 mile to the south by Henrieville Creek and is bisected near the house by another small creek locals refer to as Henrieville Wash.

Terrific home, very close to Bryce Canyon, loved our stay

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at Milt and Brenda's home. It is conveniently located off Rt. 12 about 25 minutes from Bryce Canyon. The home is very comfortable with many beds and 2 full baths. Milt greeted us upon our arrival and made us feel welcome. I believe if we had needed anything, they would have done anything they could to assist us. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need and there were many supplies available in the refrigerator and pantry. We highly recommend this house and would definitely stay again.

Perfect location for our activities.

  • 5 of 5

We used Bryce canyon, Escalante, Kodachrome, Wilis Creek, Petrified Forest, in the middle of all of them. Modern facilities, very clean.

What a treat to come to this home after a long day of incredible sites and vistas at Bryce Canyon! The home was fully equipped, clean and very comfortable. And what a site - as the night drew longer - the sky was filled with brilliant stars! Unexpected surprise just adding to our vacation. If we make it back - this will definitely be our choose to stay!

This is a lovely retreat from a day at Bryce!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at Sunrise Hollow. There is plenty of room, a well appointed kitchen, gorgeous view, and fire pit/place to sit outdoors. Viewing the stars from this home is fabulous since there is little light interference. Milt and Brenda were quite gracious and friendly. We would definitely stay here again and will recommend it to others we know traveling to SW.
