Just a short walk to the private Mink Meadows beach (access to which is included with each rental), this 3-bedroom home is perfect for young families and comfortable for everyone. The first floor contains an open living room and dining room wrapping around to a full kitchen. There are sliding doors off the living room to a large deck along the entire west side of the house and wrapping half way around the north side as well. At the end of the deck, next to the back door is an outdoor shower. The first floor also contains a half bath and a coat closet. On the second floor there is one bedroom with a king bed, the other has three twin beds. There is a full bathroom on this floor. The third floor is one large open bedroom with two twin beds, but with plenty of room for a crib or for other children to sleep on the floor. There is a full basement with washer and dryer. The house is simply furnished and designed for carefree, comfortable summer vacations. The floors are painted plywood (easy to sweep) with area rugs in all rooms. There is a color television with cable and internet access provided. Outside, in addition to the large deck is a small, nicely landscaped yard and garden. There is ample parking in the driveway. Golf Club Road leads to the Mink Meadows Golf Club one-quarter of a mile from the house, and to the beach about one-half mile from the house.
We have been renting on Martha's Vineyard for many, many years. This is by far the best rental we have had. The house is large and open, clean, well maintained and comfortable. The owners are very gracious and accommodating. They provide clean linens and towels which means you don't have to lug them along. The location is fantastic! There is a short walk to a beautiful private beach and lagoon. Great to swim in. West Chop is a great location. Amazing sunsets. Very easy access to all the towns. Can't recommend highly enough!! Hope to be back next year!!! Thank you Jon.
Staying at this house exceeded my expectations, and without a doubt enhanced the experience of my family's week on the Vineyard. Owners Abby and John ensured a smooth process and enjoyable time. My wife and I brought our two daughters, another teen, my wife's mother, and our dog. There was more than enough space for everyone. The full kitchen and charcoal grills allowed us to make great home-cooked meals, which we enjoyed around the table, or on the spacious wrap-around deck. The yard is nicely wooded, giving a sense of privacy. A short drive, bike ride, or walk is rewarded with access to a beautiful private beach (dogs allowed before 10am, and after 5pm). The accommodations and beach are so nice we didn't even need to venture out to enjoy your time. We did venture out, of course, and the location makes day trips easy. Shopping, restaurants, and beaches, are all within minutes of driving. The house is perhaps 15 minutes from the ferry in Vineyard Haven, which was a relief when arriving, and when it finally came time to leave. I especially recommend this location for families and dog owners, but really for anyone looking to enjoy their time on the Vineyard.
Nice large home, privite and close to nice owners beach. Not far from town, but far enough to get away from the summertime madness. I would definitely stay here again.
This very comfortable home is well situated for anyone wanting to drive around the island, go to the private beach, or simply hang out and listen to birds on the deck. We had horrible weather the first two days, but we enjoyed cooking in the kitchen (which seems to have all the appliances and tools one could require) as well as playing board games which are abundant in the foyer closet. The house is a classic Martha's Vineyard home--nothing fancy but well constructed, very spacious and very comfortable. The owners are helpful and responsive to any questions one might have. We had fabulous weather the last three days, and the location of this home really shone during that time. The private beach is beautiful, and we walked all around the peaceful and lush neighborhood. The wifi is fast and the cable is basic but appreciated on the newer, large television. There were four of us there, and we always had hot water and great water pressure. Everything in the home functioned beautifully--we had a truly spectacular home away from home on this charming island.
I don't know where to start. Firstly I managed to get the dates mixed up and was a day late, in a blind panic I emailed the owner expecting the worst, but that was not the case. John, was fantastic telling me not to worry and have a safe journey.
I don't think there is any thing possible to express how magical this property is, my words cannot do it justice. The photographs, whilst wonderful and drew me to the property the reality was astounding. Clearly a cherished family home and I feel honoured to have spent my holiday there.
It was my full intention to rebook in June 2015, unfortunately the dates have already been snapped up. I am so envious, but know they will enjoy whole heartedly.
Everything you need is a stone throw away, although not to close to cause distraction. Also if you're lucky you will have a squirrel join you for breakfast!
John, thank you so much for opening your home to us and I can only but apologise for taking almost 6 months to write this review. Your home is gorgeous and I'm sad I will miss out on it next year.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. We've been visiting the Vineyard for many years and have rented in several towns. This house is very simple, just the way we like it - think painted plywood floors and recycled furniture. It was clean and just as pictured in the listing, and six adults were able to use it without feeling cramped. It has all the basic amenities you'll need - linens, washer/dryer, dishwasher, charcoal grill, ceiling fans, basic TV and cable, puzzles and board games - but no luxuries (no A/C, no gas grill, not much yard) except one: access to a private beach. That was pretty special! You'll need a car to get around - walking to the beach is possible if you're up for a brisk walk, but getting to town was too far (at least for us). All beds but one are single, so this is a great place for kids. We like Vineyard Haven for strolling, window shopping and eating - it's home to a great bookstore, a good library, some interesting shops and plenty of interesting food.
