Enjoy the scenery as you drive on the two mile wooded stretch of the peninsula. Look for the deer and other wildlife in their natural habitat. You don't have to drive for three hours to have the 'Up North' atmosphere. We are approximately seventy-five minutes from Mpls. and located on the peninsula of pristine West Lake Sylvia. Welcome to the cabin! We can sleep ten people. The main floor bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed. The upper level has two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed. The second bedroom has two extra long twin beds and a bunk bed which is also extra long. Each bedroom has a clock radio. The living room has a comfortable queen size hide-a-bed. The main floor bathroom has a large shower and is adjacent to the bedroom. The kitchen is furnished with a gas range, refrigerator/freezer and microwave. The small appliances include a coffee maker, electric hand mixer, electric fry pan and a four slice toaster. We have a TV with DVD/VCR receiving the basic channels. There is a portable stereo/CD player and a under the cabinet radio/CD player in the kitchen. The dining area has a table and seating for six. The family room has a table which is often used for a buffet. The two upstairs bedrooms have window air conditioner units. The main floor is furnished with one large air conditioner and six ceiling fans. We have a variety of movies and board games for your enjoyment. Outdoors, if you're not using the canoe or paddle boat you can play a game of bean bag toss or shoot some hoops. We have various sizes of life jackets and floaties. The dock has a platform on the end with a bench for relaxing or taking in the amazing view. You can watch the fish swimming in the crystal clear water or drop a hook and catch a nice sunfish. The loons may also pop-up for a visit. We have a charcoal grill for your BBQ. In the evening you can gather around the campfire and listen to the call of the loons. Have your camera ready to capture that perfect sunset! Please note my seasonal rental is only available from May through September.
It's all about location. We purchased this property because of the level lot, crystal clear water and fantastic natural sand beach. We wanted a cabin that would be great for the kids without having to go down a steep embankment to get to the beach. This cabin totally fit what we were looking for! Besides, who wants to waste time driving when you could be relaxing! Our cabin is approximately 75 minutes from the Twin Cities.
What a wonderful place on the lake to spend the last week of summer vacation!! Stayed the end of August and enjoyed the cabin with ALL the amenities!! The cabin is exactly as pictured and included everything for a week of fun! Beautiful level lot for the kids to play on and a nice area to enjoy evening bonfires. The lake was crystal clear and we made good use of the raft, canoe and paddle boat!! We have rented on this lake before and this property has the BEST location with a level yard and large area to swim with a sandy bottom. Would love to come back again next year! Thanks Lori!
I truly can't say enough about this gem of a cabin! The cabin itself is very spacious and well stocked. Everything down to the life jackets, movies and games (including bean bag toss which is one of our favorites!). The beds were very comfy. The property itself is absolutely SPECTACULAR! It has a level backyard with a small beach and hard sandy bottom. It was absolutely perfect for kids! We had a ton of fun swimming, jumping off the raft, feeding the fish and going for paddle boat rides. Every night we took a swim while we watched the sun go down-some of the most beautiful sunsets we have ever seen! The lake is crystal clear. It is so rare to find a lake this beautiful so close to the cities! Saturday morning we went to the Wright County Swappers Meet which was also super fun (think flea market, arts & crafts and food trucks)! What a memorable family vacation! Thanks to Lori for being so hospitable and for sharing her amazing place with us!
We finally found the perfect combination of cabin and lake. For the past few years we have been renting cabins in the area, hoping to find a great cabin and beachfront/lake for our children to swim, boat, fish and play right from the cabin's backdoor...this is it! The lake is amazing, espcially the gorgeous penninusula that the cabin is located on. The kids loved playing in the sand, swimming and fishing right off the dock. The cabin is spacious, and provided us with all of the other amenities we needed for a fun-fulled weekend (grill, fire pit, games, movies). We will be retuning!
Cabin living at its finest! This property has it all. A real cabin feel, with comforts of home. The setting is very unique with lake views on 2 sides! Perfect swimming for all ages, in pristine water. Extremely well stocked cabin, including outside furnishings, water toys, life jackets, gas grill, etc... My family had a wonderful weekend on Lake Sylvia! Thanks for sharing your summer home with us!
This place was great! We had 7 adults and two young children. We were fortunate to experience perfect weather and spent most of the days in the water. The cabin, yard, dock, and beach were all spotless-very clean and well kept. We brought a boat for fishing, tubing and cruising. We enjoyed the paddle boat and floating raft.
The properties are close in this area- not necessarily a negative, but worth mentioning.
Just returned from a relaxing vacation at this cabin. The owner was helpful and accommodating, and made us feel very welcome during our stay. Lake Sylvia is a beautiful location and the water was so clear! The sandy bottom of the lakeshore was great for swimming. The layout of the cabin was spacious, with plenty of room for our group to spread out. Also included was a variety of games, movies, beach toys, swim floats, life jackets of all sizes, and beach chairs for everyone. There were plenty of water activities to enjoy with the paddle boat, canoe and swim raft as well. We enjoyed having a basketball hoop to give the kids another activity when they needed a break from swimming. This cabin is located on a peninsula so the long, shaded road was excellent for taking walks or going for a run. It was so peaceful to fall asleep to the sound of the loons and waves on the shore, after an evening around the campfire watching the sun go down.
