We instantly fell in love with our home even though it was in a state of disrepair. Lovingly restored, we hope you enjoy our home as much as we do!
My friends and I had a great weekend here. The house was very nicely decorated and extremely clean. There's a lot of space in the house with many rooms here and there. PLENTY of clean towels, sheets, pillows and blankets are provided. And the kitchen is absolutely beautiful! However, I wish there were more curtains/blinds in the house.
I can't say enough nice things about the owners as they were extremely accommodating and were always just a call/text away. We asked to check in a day earlier very last minute (on a day another group was checking out) and they were able to make this happen for us with no problems.
The house was cute, clean, had lots of room for our two families (four adults and five kids) and was close to town without being in town. We loved the kitchen - it was nicely updated as well as the master bedroom suite. The owners were very responsive with any questions we had leading up to the trip and one during the trip. We loved playing in the yard after a snow and the kids loved climbing the hill behind the house. It was an ideal location for visiting Mohonk Mountain House and a day trip to Windham. Had other family staying in the area, and we had the better house. Someone came and plowed the driveway and shoveled the walk after a snow - that was great! The only downsides, and these are minor, was the kitchen didn't have a lot of drinking cups (had plenty of mugs and wineglasses) and we didn't see any kitchen towels. Also, the bed I slept in (middle bedroom, queen bed) was very creaky. I am a light sleeper. We would definitely stay there again if in the area.
Ronnie and Brian were attentive on email to all of our questions whenever we presented them which was nice.
The downsides were:
• There was almost no toilet paper for us when we arrived
• the mattresses/ sleeping accommodates were not terribly comfortable with the exception of the master bedroom. (The pull out couch mattress shouldn't be used at all)
• the heating system is very uneven through the house making it difficult to find a good temperature for everyone.
We absolutely ADORED the kitchen. Incredible chef's kitchen and impeccably done. It was the center piece of our time. Both cooking in it and spending time there. I see why it's the cover shot.
Our granddaughter was married at The Stone Church in Cragsmoor on Saturday so a group of us rented this house for the weekend. Perfect spot....and perfect house for a group. The kitchen is fabulous....beyond "well equipped"'....I'd like to cook Thanksgiving Dinner there! The 3 bedrooms comfortable and lots of living space spread around the house. Odd layout but it works!! We had a heater issue so I called Brian who arrived shortly thereafter and took care of it by installing a new thermostat. He was helpful and friendly and offered some advice on area attractions. Enjoyable stay and nice to have a place for the family to gather instead of a hotel!!
We stayed there for my wife's birthday weekend, and we had a blast. It was close enough to go to the town center (about 3.5 miles), where we had dinner a couple of times. Waking up was a delight, surrounded by nature in beautiful New Paltz. My favorite part was the kitchen, where made breakfast and hung out most mornings. We went for hikes @ lake minnewaska and monhonk during the day, and enjoy the cool nights by there fire pit in the house. Over all nice, tranquil experience.
Four season activities draw people from all over to the beautiful Hudson Valley. Whether looking for a place to unwind to getting your adrenaline going there is so much to offer.
