About Dale Bollinger

Hi my name is Dale Bollinger. I am a life long resident of Bladen County. I spend my life with my wonderful wife Rocio and our 3 year old daughter Amanda Belle. I love nature and the river which led me to acquiring this property several years ago. Our cabin was fully renovated by us over the last few years. We are still adding new features yearly to our property.

Dale Bollinger purchased this cabin in 1990

Why Dale Bollinger chose North Carolina

I love fishing and this cabin by the Cape Fear allowed me to spend time doing the things I enjoy most.

What makes this cabin unique

The ever changing views of the foliage that surrounds the cabin and the Cape Fear River and the serenity of the area. Watching the multitude of wild life.

Beautiful place that seems incredibly remote despite being conviently located. House has all the ammenities as well as quite a few perks like the decks and the view of the river. I had a wonderful time there.

Beautiful Get Away

  • 4 of 5

This home is a perfect place to go to get away from it all. The pictures really do not do the house justice. It is beautiful and has everything you could need it for a weekend or a week away. The only downside was that the road to get to the house was so muddy, we had to use their truck which they graciously let us use. You could tell that the area had been damaged by hurricane Matthew, but I'm sure in time everything will be back to normal. We had a great time exploring the property and letting our dog run around! There are also two wineries relatively close by so we did that one day also. We are anxious to come back possibly in the summer when there are leaves on the trees! A big thank you to the homeowners for everything!

Quiet, cozy, amenities galore!

  • 5 of 5

This modern cabin in its rustic setting was perfect for a getaway for us and our friends. Every room we went in had something to offer. However, the most impressive part of the property was outside. From the multi-layered decks to the intimate gazebos it was so easy to enjoy the river and the awesome weather for January! We had an awesome time playing cornhole, horseshoes, making fires in the Huge fire pit, and exploring the river that was steps from the main house. We didn't want to leave to go to town for dinner! We will definitely look to come back in the summer when we can take full advantage of the warmer weather and the river access with the canoes. Thanks to the Bollingers for an amazing property! They were quick to answer our questions and showed up when we arrived to introduce us to the property and all its amenities. Couldn't have asked for more!

Away From It All

  • 4 of 5

This property is very clean and we felt very safe in the area. We were thrilled we were able to bring our dog. There are three bedrooms well spaced from each other, all with queen sized comfortable beds and pillows. The house was very clean and had everything you would expect in a vacation rental. There is an enormous amount of decking and outside seating. The fire pit, grilling area & outdoor hot tub (once it's fixed from the flood) are superb. The fishing boat and canoe are very nice. There are horseshoes and a very nice corn hole set. Nice yard to play in. The home has a few movies and family games, but maybe pack a couple extra. Good sized televisions in living room and the master bedroom. The living room has DVD player, while the master bedroom had Amazon Prime and Netflix with Roku. The main level has two bedrooms with a small full bath. The master bedroom is down below with a huge luxurious bathroom (though the huge tub does not have Jacuzzi jets). This is a fantastic place to come and unplug and have high quality family time on the river. You need to plan to do all of your entertaining at the cabin as there isn't much near there to do for entertainment. There is a winery about 5 minutes away. A Dollar General about 10 minutes away. Wal-Mart & Food Lion are about 15-20 minutes. We would suggest bringing lots of bottled water and bug spray as in getting away from it all, you get well water and little critters. The first two days the outdoors smelt just fine. The last two days though, hanging out on the deck smelt like a pig farm (I only say this as I've had lots of hog farmers in the family and it's a pretty distinct smell). We didn't notice what this smell would have come from as the cabin's dirt road is at the back of a neighborhood. Perhaps it comes and goes all the time as it did for us or has something to do with the flood that happened about a month ago. Owners were very friendly and checked on us to see if we needed anything. We drove our mini van without issue on the dirt road, but if it had rained we definitely would need to make arrangements to borrow the owners pickup truck they offered.

SHHHHHHH! Keep this place a secret! ;)

  • 5 of 5

My wife surprised me with a weekend here for our anniversary last year. I come back to the site to book for this year and realized that I had failed to write a review on this. If you are like us and enjoy the outdoors, you enjoy the sound of water flowing and being surrounded by wildlife THIS is the perfect place to get away from everyday life, pop the top on a cold beverage, light the grill, put a log on the fire pit and get to know your spouse again. I know it can be a great place for the whole family but for us it is a wonderful place to just get reacquainted. The owners are personable and very accommodating. Looking forward to getting booked again real soon! I almost hate to give it the review because I can see that the best little secret in the area is getting out and it appears it is staying booked. You won't be disappointed.

the house and surroundings were awesome

  • 4 of 5

We just came back from a week stay at the Rivah Getaway. Pictures do not do this place justice. Very secluded and peaceful. Owners were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful. Would definitely recommend to friends and family. If there was a down side I would have to say the number of steps to the main living area...now, if you have healthy knees and hips ..no problem!! Looking forward to possibly staying again in the near future...thanks again for a wonderful vacation.
