About Dale Bollinger

Hi my name is Dale Bollinger. I am a life long resident of Bladen County. I spend my life with my wonderful wife Rocio and our 3 year old daughter Amanda Belle. I love nature and the river which led me to acquiring this property several years ago. Our cabin was fully renovated by us over the last few years. We are still adding new features yearly to our property.

Dale Bollinger purchased this cabin in 1990

Why Dale Bollinger chose Elizabethtown

I love fishing and this cabin by the Cape Fear allowed me to spend time doing the things I enjoy most.

What makes this cabin unique

The ever changing views of the foliage that surrounds the cabin and the Cape Fear River and the serenity of the area. Watching the multitude of wild life.

Beautiful place that seems incredibly remote despite being conviently located. House has all the ammenities as well as quite a few perks like the decks and the view of the river. I had a wonderful time there.

We rented THE RIVA 181 Getaway with the expectation of getting some rest and maybe do a little fishing. It rained all Saturday so we just lazed around and watched old movies. It was perfect and the place was perfect for it too. We enjoyed the quiet and the space. The place was beautiful in all the Fall colors outside and the inside had everything we could need or want. Cable TV up stairs and ROKU down stairs. We bought a pizza and some takeout and just enjoyed each others company. My wife really loves the place and we both plan to use it again soon. I would like to bring the kids and grand kids there over the summer. I strongly recommend THE RIVA 181 Getaway for both quiet time and fun time. Thank You Dale

Quiet peaceful relaxing

  • 5 of 5

The property was great! We absolutely enjoyed our time here. The drive down is very steep but we made it through no issues in our truck and trailer. The hot tub was great and very enjoyable. Would RECOMEND bringing your own corn hole bags, and no electronics. We never had service in the house through att and absolutely loved it! Great property will definitely stay again. Next time just bring my quads down with me. And some fishing poles! Amazing property and owners. Everything you need is there!

Very nice and peaceful

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful relaxing time. The view is great, the hot tub fabulous and the vibe is everything you could ask for in a low key vacation. There are a lot of stairs and no way to enter if you can't handle stairs which made the toddler with us a little precarious but he did well and actually thought they were quite fun much to our dismay lol. We would go again for sure!

The cabin is remote along the river on a dirt road that 4wd may be needed at times of heavy rain.

  • 3 of 5

The cabin has nice tile work through out the entire place, tv's are very tricky to use, decking and sitting areas are nice, hot tub is small but nice, light switches need to be labeled for the outside lights, don't leave food out because the ants will get it, water smelled funny, cabin needs a good cleaning, inside for cob webs and general cleanliness, dishes and utensils are sparse, fire pit and wood provided by owner was nice.several lights do not work, neighborhood was trashy, probably would not return.

Owner's Response: We like everyone who stays at our property to enjoy it and we’re sorry it didn’t meet all your expectations. We did check each area of complaint: our road is unpaved but rarely needs a 4x4 (if one is needed we provide transportation), our tv’s use standard remotes, upstairs is star cable and downstairs is a roku with Netflix, Hulu and amazon prime, the hot tub is a standard 6 person, we replaced one light bulb and we meet every guest and walk through our entire property and show them where every light switch is, we have our property serviced quarterly by a pest control specialist who sprays for ants and spiders but we do not recommend leaving food sitting out, our water is supplied by a deep well and may smell funny to some guests who are used to county water, we personally spend 8-12 man hours cleaning the property between each stay, during the spring and fall when pollen and leaves are falling the property is clean on arrival, (keep in mind this property is in the woods), we provide place settings for 8 along with utensils (if anymore are needed the guests will need to supply), the cabin is equipped with pots, pans, bowls, spoon, and necessary items needed for cooking but it is not a gormet kitchen, while we cannot be our neighbors keeper (there are a few summer cabins that are rarely stayed in) our property is well maintained. Our property offers a unique chance to getaway from it all but is not for everyone. We want everyone who stays with us to enjoy there stay and we are available to make that happen. If there are problems that need to be addressed we are a phone call away. Dale and Chio

The pictures look wonderful, but there is no comparison to seeing with your own eyes. The view is breathtaking, the home has all the essentials and luxuries you could ask for, and the outside areas are setup perfect for relaxation. This was one of the most enjoyable trips I have taken. Our group went on a guys fishing weekend, and by the first night we started discussing coming back. Mr. Bollinger was the most courteous rental owner I have ever met. I look forward to renting this enjoyable retreat from him again.

Amazing property

This property is everything you could ask for and more when looking for a vacation to get away from everything. The dock is a gray place to relax with plenty of other areas to spend time. I would rent this property again for sure!
