A small swimming pool and hot tub are shared by these three homes, a rare find in southwest Montana.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION: The Ennis Homestead is a first-class historic estate in the center of downtown Ennis. The estate is composed of three cabins, which can be booked separately or reserve the entire estate for your large group or family reunion. You'll be walking distance to restaurants, galleries, shopping, and more.
BEDROOMS AND BATHS: The main house on the Ennis Homestead has three bedrooms each with queen size beds and luxurious linens. The master bedroom is on the second level of the home and is very cozy with a gas fireplace. There is a television in the master bedroom with satellite service. It also has a spacious master bath with a soaking tub and separate shower. There is a second bedroom upstairs with a small attached bath and the third bedroom is on the main level.
KITCHEN: The kitchen is fully equipped with all the amenities and nice serving ware.
LIVING ROOM: The comfortable living room is well appointed with comfortable western furnishings situated around a beautiful rock fireplace. The living room is open to the kitchen and dining area. The dining area has seating for six guests. Just off the living area is a small bar, perfect for entertaining if you have a large group or seating for a few extra guests just off the dining area. There is wireless Internet throughout the house and a television with satellite is located in the living room.
OUTDOOR AMENITIES: The estate has lovely grounds with mature trees, plenty of space separating the three cabins, a swimming pool and hot tub. Each of the cabins have their own outdoor grill and a small deck with outdoor seating.
SERVICES AVAILABLE: The rental rate includes an end-of-stay cleaning. Guests staying two weeks or longer will enjoy a weekly "spiff up" cleaning during their stay. Additional housekeeping can be arranged with a bit of prior notice.
ACTIVITIES NEARBY: Fishermen will have plenty of choices of where to go: the Madison River, in Yellowstone National Park and on the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. Other great activities include hiking, mountain biking, shopping and dining in the small western town of Ennis, and visiting historic Virginia City. For an especially memorable experience in the park, book a specialized private tour with our sister company, Greater Yellowstone Guides.
What a beautiful stay at the Ennis Homestead Main House. The home is one of 3 in a compound just a block from Main Street, yet it felt very private and serene. We did not use the pool, but the hot tub was wonderful. The pool and hot tub are for use by all three homes, and are very nicely done. A deer and her fawn rested by our home (literally) every day. The home itself was a beautiful old log home, formerly owned by a doctor in the town, and relocated here. It was beautifully decorated and extremely comfortable. Two of the three bedrooms were small, but very functional. The master was larger and very nicely appointed. What made our stay, despite the beautiful home, furnishings and surroundings was the obviously generosity of the owners. The home was extremely well stocked and you could easily serve dinner to 12 or more. There were abundant spices, coffee, etc. The toiletries were high quality and full sized. There were fresh flowers, fruit and cheese to greet us. Danette, who cares for the home, was wonderful to deal with, and very accessible in case of any problems. You will feel like you are staying in your own home. Enjoy, we did.
The Ennis Homestead (Main House) was the perfect base for our first trip to Yellowstone. The house itself is huge, very clean, well supplied and comfortable. During our trip the evenings were cool enough that we were able to enjoy the gas fireplaces. The beds were firm but comfortable and there is more than enough room for a large family to spread out. Wifi signal was strong and I was able sit out on the beautiful deck, have my coffee and check on emails without losing the signal. The hot tub was actually the right temp for us but could be adjusted for personal tastes. The heated pool was very nice and there is a security fence. The property is in the village of Ennis yet the natural landscape creates a feeling that you are in the woods so you have the best of both worlds--convenience and privacy.
There is a small, nicely stocked grocery in Ennis (we chose to shop at the larger Safeway in Bozeman--more selection for our week stay). The Sunday brunch at Yesterday's was very good, especially the Eggs Benedict. One thing that I think is important when using VRBO is the owner or management company. In this case, it is Mountain Home Vacation Rentals. Suzy and her staff went out of their way to make sure the house was clean and well prepared. They even left some starter foods and a vase of beautiful wild flowers. Communication with them was prompt and easy and the only issue I had (how to retract the pool cover--don't laugh) was handled immediately. I highly recommend this property for anyone looking to visit Yellowstone and be away from the hordes or wanting a private oasis for skiing, rafting, fishing etc.. NOTE: There are only 2 steps up to the porch, one into the house and there is a first floor bedroom and bath for those with mobility issues or small children.
Had a wonderful holiday at the Ennis homestead. House was super clean and above expectations. Fantastic location and walking distance to shop and restaurants. Would highly recommend !
