The title says it all. We had a fabulous stay in Venice. The house was well equipped with anything you may need. The pool, hot tub and outdoor space was very enjoyable. Looking forward to returning next year. Thanks for everything Susan.
We stayed here for a mini vacation for my daughters birthday and everything was perfect. The house was clean and close to all of the things we love in the area. The owners were very friendly and communicated frequently. Thanks again for everything!
The house was beautiful, clean, and had everything we could have ever wanted in a vacation rental. It is close to all of the things we love about the Venice area and the owner Susan was very on top of communication! We had a wonderful time and would definitely consider staying here again.
We rented this home as we came over from the UK and needed a base to visit our daughter and new baby granddaughter in Venice. The whole rental process including the use of the Home Away app was very simple and helpful. It was lovely to speak to Susan on the phone beforehand and this made things much more personal.
Although the house was smaller than we have rented in the past, it was just right for this visit. Everything had been thought of to make our stay comfortable and just like a home from home. We were glad of all the candles when we lost power for five hours in a terrific storm!
The pool and spa particularly were wonderful, spotlessly clean and provided a welcome cool down from the Florida heat.
Fortunately we know the area quite well having been over to the USA a number of times and it was lovely to revisit some of the places we enjoyed on previous trips. We particularly love Siesta Key and recommend the drum circle at sunset on a Sunday evening. Couldn't leave without a meal at Sharkeys either. The ferry over to the private beach was fun, found plenty of sharks teeth and saw a pod of dolphins swimming just off shore.
All in all we had a great trip, thank you so much for everything, we really hope to be back some time and would confidently recommend this holiday rental to anyone.
After so much research we were so happy we chose this house. Super clean and very well equipped, they have thought of everything. We enjoyed time at the beach and relaxing by the pool. I highly recommend this rental.
Two years ago my wife and I rented a $450,000 home on the canal in Cape Coral. That house was beautiful.
Susan's home blew that away. Susan's Venice home was clean, well maintained and properly appointed with all the amenities one needs on vacation. The back yard pool area is so private you feel that you are alone on your own island.
Our stay was not without issues as homes never run smoothly all the time. We lost water when the pump died but Bud was at the house within 10 minutes of calling him and the pump was replaced in less than 3 hours, which was a perfect time for us to visit Siesta Key 20 minutes North.
Location Location Location. This house is ideally located. 5 minutes from Walmart, Home Depot, Lowe's, Target, Publix, CVS, Dunkin Dounuts, and some of the best beaches in the area. Manasota Key offers Blind Pass Beach a mere 12 minutes south. Take a ride on the Venice Ferry 3 minutes down the road to a gorgeous beach. Sharkey's pier is close by as is Capersen Beach. Go into town for some excellent shopping and fine dining.
Susan and Bud were very accommodating. They were friendly and ready to help if any issues came up. I have recommend this home to a few of my friends and plan on vacationing in Venice, in this home, sometime in the future.
Thanks Susan and Bud. We had a wonderful time.
What to do during your stay in Venice?
The shark tooth capital of the world, Venice, Florida, is known for its spectacular shoreline. Stroll down Venice Avenue with its pink, Italian Renaissance buildings, Mediterranean-style shops and 'umbrella-topped' Canary Island date palms.
1. THE VENETIAN WATERWAY TRAIL & THE LEGACY TRAIL: Venice is fortunate in that we have TWO incredible paved walkways for walkers, bicyclists, rollerbladers, and all other outdoor enthusiasts to enjoy! The Venetian Waterway Trail runs along both sides of the Intracoastal Waterway providing a calming view of boats and dolphins making their way through the channel. The Legacy Trail, recently opened, is a rails-to-trails project that links Venice directly to Sarasota via a paved lane through several different ecological habitats.
2. EXPLORE OUR BEACHES:
You've seen one beach, you've seen them all? Oh no, not here in Venice! Each of our public beaches features its own distinct personality! Check out Casperson Beach at the far end of Harbor Drive for excellent sharkstooth hunting and enjoy the pavilions and playground that are located on the edge of Red Lake. Brohard Beach is our local Paw Park where you can bring your four-legged friends for a romp in the surf! Venice Beach is located directly at the end of Venice Ave. W. Don't miss trying a locally famous 'Jetty Dog' at Venice's South Jetty while watching the surfers (if the waves are good). North Jetty Park also has a walkable jetty suitable for fishing or just watching a sunset. The newly renovated pavilion at Nokomis Beach, along with its access to the Intracoastal is also a favorite of locals!
The Venice Fishing Pier is located at Brohard Park on the south end of the island of Venice, and is owned by the City of Venice. The 700-foot Pier is a great location for fishing and to end the day watching a beautiful sunset. Connected to Sharky's on the Pier, the only beachfront restaurant in the Venice area, the Pier offers Papa's Bait Shop, with live & frozen bait, coffee, treats, jackets, shirts, and more. Nearby are six picnic shelters, two sand volleyball courts, and public restrooms with showers. Open at all times. There is no fee to access the Pier and avid and amateur fisherman of all ages can fish from the Pier without a fishing license.
4. SHOPPING & DINING
Crossing one of Venice's bridges to the historic downtown area, known as 'The Island of Venice', instantly transports you Downtown Veniceto a place of unparalleled charm where palm tree lined avenues host an endless array of exciting things to do and see. You’re sure to find a shop or boutique to satisfy your style out of the 100+ unique shops, salons, and other businesses along the Island Avenues of Venice.
