Why Molly Karp chose Monmouth
Wilson Pond has crystal clear water and the peace and quiet we were seeking. Summer fun for our family means lake fun.

Great cottage and great location
We had a great time. I will be back
Our time at the Wilson Pond-Camp Karp
This property site allows for direct access to the pond. The views are very pretty morning and night. This camp is a classic Maine camp. The owners provide everything you need to be comfortable, without many extras, which was perfect for us. Wifi, cable tv, even a land line is available. Camp Karp is a perfect get a away, yet not far from restaurants, the state museum, and assorted amenities. The fishing is adequate, it may take a couple of days to figure out where to cast & what to use for bait but once you do you will reel them in. We caught some really decent large mouth bass, a few pickle, white perch and the ubiquitous sunfish. All in all, we had a great time. We will consider a return trip to Camp Karp.
We had a great experience getting together with family. The cabin had ample room for conversations, game playing, and eating. It was, also, very convenient to interesting places to visit.
We all loved being on the pond and hearing the loons. A very peaceful setting.
Our only concern was that cabin needed more thorough cleaning.
Very clean and comfortable. As promised. Beautiful setting.
We plan to return! Owners responsive and good to work with.
Columbus Day weekend in Maine
This was long weekend of Columbus Day I really dreamed about!
Nice and cozy fairy tale style house among astonishing autumn landscapes.
Lake view you can not forget. SILENCE away from it all. Beauty of a simple life. You and Mother Nature.
This lakeside setting offers the beauty of woodland Maine and comfort of a rustic dwelling.
Our review describes this property off-season, that is mid-September. If this fits your calendar, we recommend it enthusiastically. The rustic cottage with its large screened porch sits on a rise overlooking Wilson Pond. Ample living space is fully equipped from kitchen to bathrooms, from bedrooms to a large sitting room with a grand iron stove and plenty of dry white oak logs for burning. We have never experienced such silence. An occasional puff of breeze stirred the shading trees; one evening a solitary loon called; no sooner had we settled into the comfortable bed, than an overflight of ducks signaled their time for migration. Little else broke the quiet of this delightful hide-away.
The setting is Maine’s lake and mountain district, easily accessible from the Interstate. In an exploring day trip, we delighted in small towns with quaint shops, in countless tree-lined ponds and lakes, and mountain scenery. This is quintessential rural Maine where hearty people live close to soil surrounded by dense woodlands, and all wear pleasant faces of contentment.
The owners are most cordial and accommodating which made our initial planning and our stay entirely welcoming.
Wilson Pond provides the ultimate Maine lake experience, with many fishing and bird siting opportunities. Heron, eagles and loons are frequently sighted from our dock.
There are many interesting towns in the area with feature a variety of vacation experiences.
Monmouth is well know for the theater and museum. Nearby Winthrop is convenient for shopping and dinner. Hallowell has a summer festival, antique and art shops and many interesting restaurant choices which also highlight local musicians. Augusta is the state capitol with a museum and state library. Belgrade has interesting shops; fun on a rainy day.
