We are retired form G.M. and live in Indiana. But we love Ky Lake. We like spending time at the lake with family and friends. And you will too.
Terry Hollowell purchased this house in 2009
This home is private and secluded with a great view right out your backdoor.
We had a long weekend stay at this property the cabin itself is well appointed with everything a family would need for a weeks stay. There is lots of room to walk around, access to the lake and almost complete privacy. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to be away from it all for peace and quiet. In fact we are planning an extended stay at this very property next spring.
We rented this house for a week with another family. The house was extremely clean and smelled fresh when walking into the house, Each room provided comfortable beds, with extra beds for kids. We had two teenage boys and two preteen girls and they enjoyed the downstairs "apartment like" setting while the adults enjoyed the upstairs. This house is well stocked with anything you might need from kitchen supplies to extra pillows and blankets. The outside had plenty of parking for our 2 boats and 2 pick-up trucks and a family car. The local boat ramps were easily accessible with only a few miles away.
This property couldn't have been more ideal for our family of 3 generations (4 adults, 2 kids).
Everyone had their own bedroom and the Grandparents were thrilled to have the downstairs to themselves (living room with large TV, bedroom, bath and direct access to the outside). Coffee in the morning on the covered front porch was a great way to start the day.
The kitchen was well equipped and we were pleased that past guests had left condiments in the refrigerator for us to share.
The beds are all pretty firm and we are used to softer mattresses, so that took some getting used to.
The property is very private with only one neighbor and they have mowed several acres around the house, so it really is like a park. If you want to access the lake, bring boots. There was a lot of rain prior to our stay, so it was pretty boggy. It was also very hot and humid during our 4 day stay, but the a/c did a pretty good job of keeping up with it ... until the power went out, due, I'm sure, to the extreme heat and the power grid just not being able to keep up with the demand. We called Terry late that night to ask what we should do and he let us know where there was a flashlight. Luckily the power wasn't out too long.
We were very grateful that Terry allowed us to bring our dogs ... it is obvious that the Hollowells are Lab lovers. We were extra careful that they behaved and that we cleaned up after them outside in the fenced front yard.
The only negative was that we didn't plan a longer stay. Hopefully there will be a next time if the Hollowells continue to make it available.
A big THANK YOU to Terry for the wonderful stay. We appreciate everything you did to make us feel welcome.

What a wonderful home. The pictures online do not do this home justice! We had such an amazing time. The home is beautiful and fully stocked with anything you may forget. The owner is very accommodating and answers questions you may have immediately. We were extremely lucky to have found this property. Full kitchen with everything you could possibly need to prepare meals, spacious bedrooms for everyone and enough linens for all. The outdoor area is fantastic! Great firepit, and fishing area. The creek on the property was really nice as well. The kids enjoyed the large yard in front of the house as well as the backyard. The property manager is right there to assist with any questions as well. Mike and Fran are absolutely amazing people. (Property Manager) Thank you so much Mr. Hollowell for allowing us to rent your home! You truly made our family tradition continue, and for that I'm so grateful!
This was our 2nd staying here, and it was perfect. This house has all the modern technologies with the rustic charm. It was quit and peaceful. We love the house and planning on coming back in a couple of months. Thanks for break from reality! I would recommend this place to anyone wanting to get a break from the pressures of the everyday life. We love the lake life!!!
We loved the house. It was only the 2 of us but the home is on a great piece of property and is decorated so cute.
The kitchen was well equipped with exception of the coffee maker which would never heat the coffee but my coffee in the microwave and got it heated up. I would suggest that although pets are not allowed nor is smoking in the house allowed, it's apparent that there has been smokers in the home. I am highly allergic to smoke and my allergies went quite crazy. We weren't there much outside of sleeping so it didn't make me too sick but if someone is highly allergic that may need to be pointed out so that they don't get sick. If I would've been there for longer periods of time, it would've been a big issue (more than my medication could handle). The neighbor who manages the house was also very helpful and friendly. Thank you for renting out your lovely home.
