|Minimum Stay||3 nights|
Holiday House Gilda is located in a quiet and green spot along one of the most beautiful coast in the south of Italy: the Amalfitan Coast.
In a very favourable position, the house has a breathtaking view over the old fisherman village of Positano, 1.5 km far from the crowds of the center.
You’ll be facing the famous island of “ LI Galli “.
Holiday House Gilda has a private covered parking which will be available on request.
Straight from the house you can walk down a stairway which leads you to the quiet and relaxing beach of Arienzo.
We lucked out renting a room in this gorgeous location by chance. Not knowing anything about Positano, we chose this place at random...and we couldn't have done it better. The hosts were warm and helpful; the views were simply spectacular; and having off-street parking was a bonus. We were able to stay only 3 nights on our tour of Italy...this is a place to stay for a while and relax.
On arrival we were upgraded to a larger suite with a stunning view of Positano because it was available. The suite was clean, comfortable, and well maintained with a small kitchen and eating area. The location allows you to walk into Positano and walk down to the public beach for a swim in the sea. Be ready for lots of stairs and steep cliffs through the area. Our hosts made excellent recommendations for dinner and arranged for a shuttle to pick up and drive us home, gave us advice and information about our activities for the day and helped us celebrate a 50th birthday. Rosa and Daniella made us feel like family and were very warm and gracious hosts.Thank you for making our first trip to Positano so enjoyable, we hope to see you again!!
Staying here absolutely made our trip to Positano. The hospitality was amazing and they really do make you feel like a relative coming to visit. We have delicious breakfasts with an incredible view every morning. It's a little bit of a walk down the stairs to get to the beach below, as it is everywhere along the coast, but the beach below was worth it. It was a lot less crowded and nicer to swim at than the main beach. It's a short walk into town - about 15 minutes along a windy road - easy enough to do, even at night after dinner it was fine with a small light. If I come back to Positano it will definitely be my first choice to stay!! You will love staying here.
The views from Holiday House Gilda over the Sea to Positano blew us away but it was the friendly, helpful manner of Rosa and Daniela that made it the best accommodation we experience on our holiday in Italy. The breakfast of cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit and pastries was terrific but an added bonus was Daniela who cooked us eggs anyway we liked. Thankfully we were able to park our rental car inside their garage which is very rare in this area. Rosa was a wealth of knowledge and we appreciated all her fantastic advise such as getting a ferry to Amalfi and then a bus to walk the" Walk of The Gods" which was absolutely stunning, to organising a free boat pick up for our day trip to Isle of Capri. Rosa suggested great local restaurants and organised for us to be picked up and dropped back at no cost. She was always on hand to contact for help when we got lost. The family really made us feel welcomed and made our Positano holiday one we will never forget. We have already told all our friends about this holiday house and hope to get the opportunity to go back again.
Now that I am home and by my computer, it's an added bonus to be able to write a review and reminisce about such a wonderful stay at Holiday House Gilda! From communications prior to our arrival to the final arrangements for departure everything was professional, friendly, warm and welcoming. Rosa is a treasure in both her ability to connect with guests and her wealth of knowledge about the area and how to make the most of the time in the area. After a busy day of travel and a later arrival, it was wonderful to be able to clean up and enjoy a shuttle ride with another couple to a local trattoria for a delicious meal, all arranged by Rosa. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and equipped with all the right tools and basics in the pantry to make preparation of a meal easy, which we used for one night with great food picked up from a small grocery and deli in Positano and enjoyed on the terrace. The terrace was also a lovely place to be for a relaxing morning of watercolor painting while my husband rested up from our travels before we ventured down the steps to the Arienzo Beach Club for lunch and a little beach time, where there is shade up against the rocks later in the afternoon once you are tired of the sun. A short water taxi ride over to the main beach of Positano was a great way to get to town and then we could wander around to our hearts content as the stores and galleries opened in the later afternoon. There are several galleries with quality collections of contemporary art work, which I had not expected to see. It is an easy walk back to the apartment, and the bus is also easy to negotiate. It was a pleasure to meet Rosa, Daniela, Gilda & Guiseppe, and I truly do hope to be able to return to Positano and Holiday House Gilda again someday!
We stayed for a week after being in Holland and Rome. As others have stated, the apartment was simple but all that we needed. The view was great. Our hosts were very warm and helpful. They assisted with any inquiries and set up a number of shuttles and trips for us. They even arranged for our groceries to be delivered. The scenery is awesome and we enjoyed having our dinner on the terrace as much as going out. Rosa recommended several nice places to eat and called for free shuttle service. You can go very high end or stay with an excellent family run restaurant. Breakfasts included were very good and really helped us to get our days going. We used the private beach, several hundred steps below, almost daily and enjoyed a fresh fish lunch one day. Beds were comfortable and they provided housekeeping every 3 days or so. The atmosphere is friendly and safe at the Holiday House. We felt like old friends and can't say enough about Rosa and Daniela....awesome vacation. The walk down to Positano is about 20 minutes where there are many clothing shops and a place to pick up some ready made pastas and deserts for a simple but good meal. Path of the Gods was nice and follow Rosa's advice on how to tackle it. Buses are nearby to check out more of the coast. We found it very relaxing and you cannot get tired of the views. We would certainly return to stay and unwind all over again!
