This 110 m2 apartment, located on the third story of an elevator building on the prestigious Carrer de Muntaner in L'Esquerra de l'Eixample, has beautiful period details, including original mosaic floors, high plaster ceilings, stain-glass windows and polished wooden archways. A modern fully equipped kitchen, a modern bathroom with shower, bathtub, and toilet, and another half-bath (toilet and sink) offers the perfect combination of elegance and practicality.

There is a large master bedroom with an arched sitting area at the back of the apartment, while two smaller bedrooms, one windowed, one without, line the hallway, so that no bedroom faces the street, providing for a peaceful night's sleep. The large living room has six tall windows opening onto terraces, with couches and a television. An adjoining dining area comfortably seats 6.

Within walking distance to Placa Catalunya, Passeig de Gracia, las Ramblas and the historic districts of El Born, El Raval and El Barrio Gotico the apartment is ideally located. Restaurants, shops, a supermarket, and public parking are all nearby.

We are a NYC family. I used to come to Barcelona to shoot TV commercials and loved it, now I just visit for fun with the family. I plan to spend 6 months a year in Europe and use it as a base.

Why Owner/Property Manager chose Barcelona

We wanted something that felt like it was part of Barcelona, not just a mod apartment you could find anywhere. There's some beautiful detail, and it's in one of the best areas. It's great for families because we get a nice big master and the kids have their own rooms.

What makes this apartment unique

It is very sunny. The stores and restaurants in the surrounding blocks are first-rate. You can walk to the historic districts but you are not surrounded by tourists, so it feels more like a neighborhood you live in.

  • The full bath was renovated in December 2013 and features new toilet, sink, and bathtub/shower in the back half of the apartment. The half bath is closer to the second bedroom towards the front.

Gorgeous apartment near excellent restaurants

Our family of 5 stayed at this apartment for 4 days and loved it. The original details of the tiled floors and moldings in the ceilings were gorgeous. The living room is bright and sunny, and the bedrooms can turn into cool, dark caves -- perfect for staying on "Spanish time!" Our Spanish friends who came to the apartment considered it to be huge.

Graciela, the property manager, met us at the apartment, showed us around, and gave us all the necessary instructions. The laundry machine had just broken with the previous tenants, but they had a new one up and running for us within 36 hours of our arrival. The owners have a comprehensive folder with information about all the services nearby -- very helpful. And the apartment is particularly well-located for great restaurants within 2-3 blocks. It is a bit of a hike on foot from the apartment to the Gothic/Born/Raval districts and even from the Plaza Cataluna with young children. But taxis are easy to find. We would definitely return to this apartment and appreciated the professionalism of the owners and operators. Muchas Gracias!

Beautiful Apartment in Premier Neighborhood

My husband and I rented this apartment for the month of March and we couldn't have been happier with it. The owner, his assistant and the property manager Graciella were helpful, prompt and entirely professional; they responded to communications within hours and with detailed information on day trips, local services like dry cleaning and bike rental, and any other questions we had.

The apartment is located in what many consider the most beautiful neighborhood in Barcelona, surrounded by restaurants of every style and price range, including some of the best in the city. Rambla Catalunya, with dozens of sidewalk cafes, is four or five blocks away and we were able to walk to many of the Gaudi attractions from the apartment. There is also a large neighborhood market on the next block if you plan on having meals in; we became regular customers at the cheese, olive and empanada stalls.

The apartment itself is beautifully traditional with its classic tile floors, stained glass and french windows opening to the street and is nicely furnished with comfortable contemporary furniture. We appreciated that unlike many holiday rentals, this apartment was well stocked with basic amenities when we arrived. Two of the bedrooms are small (and one lacks a window) but both were nicely decorated and well lit. The master bedroom is quite large, with an attached dressing area. Storage there, which was particularly important for our long stay, was excellent and more than ample for the two of us to unpack a months' worth of clothing.

Even though there is some street noise in the living room, which is not surprising because Barcelona is a large, busy city, the bedrooms are located away from the street and are very quiet.

We simply loved this place and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. In fact, I hope we can!

Great location for our family when celebrating a special birthday

Property is in a great location for shops and restaurants. Owner provided very helpful information before our stay. Property manager and assistant also very helpful on arrival. Apartment is well equipped and comfortable. Would like to return in the summer for a different view of the city. Would recommend this apartment and Barcelona for anyone but in particular if you are interested in architecture and history.

Beautiful and well-located

Beautiful elegant period property in elegant neighborhood near transit and seconds away from fabulous wine and food shops. Well-appointed kitchen, lots of space, very comfy beds, fee wi fi--just like home! Easy to access in-city help from Lucia who let us in and gave us the keys--also a very helpful booklet provided by owners re: things to do etc.

Highly recommended--fair price too!

We loved the apartment! Very clean and spacious!! Located within walking distance to cafes and shops! Would definitely stay here again! Our only bit of advice would be to not judge it from the entranceway and small elevator! Once in the apartment, you will love it!!☺️👍𣐼􏏼

Comfortable apartment in a upscale neighborhood .

My wife and I ended our 3 week tour of Spain at this location for 4 nights . The apartment was difficult to locate in the building and clear signage would help . The apartment was old but very clean and comfortable . We enjoyed our stay and enjoyed the local stores where we were able to buy breakfast and dinner supplies . It is a 1 1/2 bath unit with a large master and 2 small additional bedrooms . I would recommend this apartment .
