We greatly enjoyed a weekend stay at this charming cottage located in downtown Luray. The cottage was extremely well kept, attractive and clean. We enjoyed walking to downtown and the short trip to the Luray Caverns. We plan to return again soon for another weekend away!
The house was nice, clean and well kept. Anything that you may have forgotten was there (soap, shampoo, etc.). The house is located right off the main strip so everything was close by. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
Recommendations: Leave instructions on how to work the DVD/VCR. We wanted to watch a movie but couldn't figure out how to work it. The TV should sit a little higher.
My (now) husband and I stayed at this beautiful cottage during our wedding weekend in Luray - no complaints at all - the cottage was very cute and quaint, clean, and everything went smoothly. Nice location in downtown/close to Main Street. Definitely would recommend staying here!
Our family appreciated having a beautiful, clean, comfortable home to rent, while visiting the National Park. The location was ideal, too.
The owner provided an ample supply of quality towels, linens, and comfortable beds. In addition, our communications went well, and she was very kind and considerate. We will certainly rent the Luray Cottage ,whenever we maybe in this area again.
We had the pleasure of staying at the cottage at the end of October. We were visiting Luray as part of a family camping retreat with our daughter's school. We were very lucky to find Lana and her lovely home, which truly made the trip much more manageable with two small children. In lieu of camping, we rented the cottage with friends. We have a 5 yo and 2 yo. The cottage was impeccably clean (and I am very particular) and fresh upon arrival. The house appears recently renovated and newly furnished. Everything was in wonderful working order, and the seasonal decorations were a lovely touch. Lana had all of the beds made (beautiful linens!), including a toddler crib (baby blanket!), and had left lights on for us, anticipating our late arrival. There were ample linens in the bathrooms. The various toiletries (hand soap, tissues, etc) and paper goods (towels, napkins, tin foil, bags, etc) stocked in the bathrooms and kitchen made our stay very easy and convenient--we literally only needed our clothes and food items. Everyone felt right at home. The house is very convenient to town, and is located on a quiet residential street. We look forward to returning and hope to make this a home-away-from-home for our family. Lana was very responsive by email when establishing our reservation, and answered all of my questions. We love Luray! Thank you for everything Lana!
We are two couples who have traveled extensively together and have stayed in a number of VRBO properties. Our stay in Luray was exceptional. The communications to us by the owner regarding the property and our use of it were clear and easy to follow. We found the property to be clean and fresh in appearance and perfectly suited to our stay and use of kitchen and sleeping accommodations and all facilities. The location was ideal and central to our vacation needs. The house was clean and well appointed. All facilities (kitchen, bath, laundry) were current and in excellent working order. We were very pleased with the rental and if we were to be in the area in the future, would not hesitate to engage this property again.
Luray is a little historical town between the Blue Ridge and Massanutten Mountain Ranges in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We are home to the famous Luray Caverns, Shenandoah National Park, Skyline Drive and the George Washington National Forest, with spectacular mountain scenery and abundant wildlife. Canoe, Kayak, Rafting and Tubing on the Shenandoah River. Luray offers an impressive selection of recreational activities, major attractions and cultural history. Visitors are drawn to Historic Main St. where festivals, performing arts, paved walking trails, shops and eateries are accessible year round. A great place to get away from it all and enjoy our slower pace of life.
