About Dee Dee Lee

Andy purchased this home in 1998 and it has undergone several renovations along the way. He grew up in West Texas and fondly calls this area of Texas home though we currently reside in Central Texas.

Why Dee Dee Lee chose Texas

This home is located in the middle of nowhere which is the perfect backdrop for family time. Our grown children travel for hours to reach this destination to be able to reconnect with each other and de-stress from their hectic lives. When they bring their friends in from the city they are amazed at the brightness of the stars and the beautiful sunsets. We hope others will find the same peace and relaxation when visiting.

Fantastic getaway!

  • 5 of 5

it was clean, comfortable and well appointed, stocked with all the necessities. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. We loved sitting by the fire, looking at the stars and roasting marshmallows. The outdoor gas grill was perfect for burgers and hotdogs. It was a great location because we had family from DFW, Lubbock and Abilene. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of them. Amazing appliances in the kitchen. Everything was perfect. Hope to stay again.

Nice and Quiet

  • 4 of 5

Good time with family. Plenty of space for all of us and the place was clean, well stocked with a variety of supplies, games , towels, etc. Had fun with pool table even tho it was a bit shakey and unlevel! Enjoyed the firepit and slowed down pace, for a short time anyway! Thanks Hope to be back next year!!!!

Amazing and peaceful getaway

  • 5 of 5

Very nice home for two families to spend the weekend. We had fun shooting skeet in the backyard, very cool to be staying so close to a wind farm. They did a great job renovating the interior of the home, in the kitchen as well. Well-stocked pantry and coffee was a plus. The kitchen had absolutely everything you could possibly need, supplies spices utensils. Great fire pit with plenty of wood available for us to use. Owner was very accessible via text and quick to respond.

Peaceful family getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in Nolan for our family reunion this year, and we all loved it here! We were looking for somewhere quiet and secluded, where we wouldn't feel the need to have to leave to find entertainment, and we could just spend time together as a family. This place was perfect. The inside of the home was spacious and clean, and we especially loved the big game room where we spent a lot of time. We appreciated that there were games, volleyball, football, a pool table, etc. already there for us to use. There is a fire pit and a grill outside, which we used both. We had 3 of our family dogs with us also, which we really appreciated being able to bring them, and all the space outside and the seclusion worked out perfect for them as well. There is a large outside yard, so playing outside games, frisbee, boche ball, etc. works great. If you are looking for a place to just enjoy each other and enjoy the peacefulness, then this is a wonderful spot. We hope to come back next year for our next reunion!

Spacious, comfortable, unique

  • 5 of 5

If your travels are taking you to the Abilene/Sweetwater area and you want to stay somewhere other than a chain hotel right off the freeway, this is a fantastic spot that feels remote, but is not too far out of the way. We were on a slow road trip crawl from Austin to Palo Duro Canyon, and needed a place to stay along the way but wanted something different with room to move. We were traveling with two tween girls and two dogs, and this place was great for all critters, including the parents. So much space, well-provisioned kitchen, fantastic game room with fireplace. Kids played pool, kicked the soccer ball around in yard, and explored outside. Everyone enjoyed the sunsets, which in this terrain, surround you in 360 degrees of beauty each night. Near historic and quirky Buffalo Gap and Abilene SP, which we did one day, and then on our way up to Palo Duro, we went into Abilene for some Texas history. Thanks to the owners for providing such a welcome place of respite!

We enjoyed our time in Nolan.

  • 5 of 5

We have stayed at the Nolan house before and really liked the renovations they have done since our last visit. There was a brand new refrigerator, dishwasher and stove and a nice update to the kitchen. This home is a great place for our extended family to get together. The owners have provided plenty of kitchen supplies, microwave and coffee makers to fix a few meals and it is near enough to Sweetwater (about 15 minutes) and several good places to eat there. We had some delicious burgers at Heff's and picked up some groceries at Walmart. We have family in Abilene and it is a nice drive for them to come visit or for us to drive in to Abilene. I think it was about a 45 minutes drive. If you go to Abilene you might enjoy shopping at LaVilla which has Mexican Pottery and imports, furniture and a flea market type vendor mall. I certainly do appreciate the owner's willingness to work with us and help us schedule and make us feel welcome. They were very accommodating and I would recommend this vacation rental. It is a sweet, relaxed farmhouse with interesting and clever updates and lots of the old character too. There is plenty of room for everyone to gather around and visit or find a peaceful area both indoors and outdoors.
