We stayed at this house over Christmas and New Year's. The house was well-equipped and we had a great time.
The house is part of a gated community of near-identical houses closely situated to each other and lining the street leading to the docks. It sits about three or four houses inland from the edge of the water and the communal pool, and is very close to many of the island's attractions and restaurants.
The house was clean, and the features and amenities were pretty much as advertised. We made use of the hot tub on the roof, dual ovens in the kitchen, elevator, smart TVs, washer/dryer, etc. All of the sheets and linens were of pretty good quality, and the bathrooms included convenient dispensers for body wash, shampoo and conditioner. For those that are wondering, the floors seem pretty thick, such that the sound from each floor is pretty well insulated.
A few things to keep in mind. The kitchen has an electric stove, and as is typical of pretty much every house that I've ever rented, the kitchen knives were all pretty dull. The pots and pans were nice, but because none of them were nonstick, we had to do a lot more scrubbing than we're used to. We had an initial issue with the grill, but we were able to eventually figure out that it was an issue with the regulator needing to be reset (unfortunately, not in time to salvage the really nice steaks that we had been trying to grill. We ended up cooking them in a frying pan). The owners could have been a little more responsive/helpful here. It's also worth noting that the rooftop is level with all of the neighbors, in case you're going for privacy. It would be better for hanging out there at night if there was some sort of light available too.
But all in all, the location was great, the house was clean with nice fixtures, and it was very much as advertised.
We were met at the gate by Brett, who welcomed us warmly. He showed us a few necessary things, and then left
us to enjoy our vacation. The house was PERFECT! Beautifully finished and extremely well equipped. Explicit instructions
on use of appliances. We thoroughly enjoyed the nearby pool, and especially the roof deck, with such wonderful panoramic views.
The location was perfect. We took side trips to Isla Marada and Key West, and other Keys in-between. One day was fishing; another
parasailing....both in Marathon.
We definitely will recommend this place to friends and family.
Thank you to The Thompsons for having us!

We stayed a week at this villa and enjoyed our stay very much! Brett met us and was very helpful with any questions we had. The elevator was such a relief as I am in a wheelchair and there are not many locations in the keys that have a wheelchair. The villa was well equipped and it felt as though we were staying at a friend's home. We enjoyed the pool and did hit the rooftop deck for a relaxing hot tub the first night and had dinner up there the second night, but it was so warm we did not use it much the rest of the week. The view was beautiful! This location is perfect for hitting the area attractions as we hit the beach, went snorkeling, fished on a group charter, and the kids made it to the turtle hospital and some other attractions. We also had a visit to Key West which was also a hit! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us (a party of 6). Can't wait to head back to the Keys!!
This is a fabulous place to stay in the Keys. Centrally located so everything from the mainland to Key West is easily accessible. The home is relatively new, spacious and tastefully decorated. Furnishings are complete down to a dozen common spices in the kitchen. Sheets and towels are as good as or better than you have at home. Parking is covered on the ground floor of the 3 story unit. But don't worry about dragging luggage and groceries up the stairs - there is an elevator! The community is quite and gated. Pool and dock fishing available on site. Roof has lots of chairs and recliners. Also has a hot tub and gorgeous sunset views. Perfect place to kick back and enjoy the lazy life style of the Keys. Local manager is there if you need him. Can't go wrong with this one.
Our family of 6 thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this house. The owner provided lots of helpful information about all the things to do in Marathon as well as the other FL keys. The accommodations were very nice and clean and the house had lots of supplies and amenities (even beach towels!). The location was perfect for everything we were interested in doing! The rooftop deck is great for watching sunsets and just relaxing. We used the table and chairs on the deck off the living room everyday for drinking coffee in the morning while waiting for the kids to wake up.
I would recommend the home to anyone except possibly if you have very small (toddler) children, only because of the amount of stairs. One recommendation I have for the owners is to provide a small cooler that guests can take to the beach so they can pack a lunch/cold beverages and keep them cold at the beach. We ended up buying a cheap, throw-away Styrofoam cooler - not a big deal but would be nice to have a regular cooler for guests to use.
First off, this house is great. It's a skinny town house style condo with an open garage on the first floor, the second floor consists of two bedrooms and two bathrooms, and the 3rd floor is the master suite with a kitchen and a living room. The rooftop, where we spent the majority of our nights, consists of a stand alone bar, ample seating and a hot tub. The house's location was a major plus, in a gated community off of the main drag and less than 15 minutes to the south end of the island.
My family and I solely wanted a getaway, and for up to 7 people this was the perfect vacation. Located smack-dab in the center of the keys, you don't need to worry about being overrun by the tourism. Both Key West and Key Largo are both one and a half hours away, allowing for day trips to Key West and Pennykamp. With that said all your watersports are available on Marathon and the restaurants are phenomenal. The only reason we found to go off of Marathon was to be part of the tourism and say we went there. Marathon provides fun for the whole family and enough serenity to feel like a true getaway; Sombrero Beach, Castaways, hideaway cafe, sunsete grill, became regulars for us.
Some additional things to add: The home is operated and cared for by a very compitent landlord, who was always ready to help and answer his phone. The elevator was a great ammenity as well, and ran just fine with no complications. The pool is small and practically out of the sun, I would recommend the beach or the fourth floor to get a tan or get wet. I guess now that I'm thinking about it that might be the only downside. But in the grand scheme of things who cares about the pool; It's The Florida Keys!
In conclusion, this home turned out to be a phenomenal getaway for my whole family, and I would highly recommend this destination.
