About Ruth or Fred Allen (tex Ruth @732 266 5236) E-MAILS RETURNS ARE NOT GOING THR

I graduated from Johnsburg centeral in North Creek. Married a girl from NJ where we now live. Ruth is retired so we get to go to the River House alot. Most of my family live in the warren county area. Being a contractor I can shuffle my work load so we can get to the Adirondack at least five weeks a year. We want to share our vacation home with you. Hope you will enjoy the River House.

What a wonderful place, arrived a bit early and met the cleaning lady, came back a few hours later house was spotless.. Quite, just what we wanted. Got to do a lot is hiking and reading and relaxation! Short walk down to the river just a trek straight back up to house. Will definitely be back!!

Lovely Treehouse Setting

  • 5 of 5

The house sits just above the Hudson in a perfect location to Chestertown or Warrensburg for dinner. We only needed the beautiful queen bedroom view of the river, but there were actually 2 more bedrooms: 1 with a queen and twin and then a loft with 4 twins. The main living space wasn't super spacious, but I tend to think if you are headed to the ADK, then you plan to use the outdoor space. There was a nice deck, covered eating space, hammock, grill and fire pit. It really did have everything we could have needed. A lot of times you need the kitchen essentials, but even those were available - foil, coffee filters, etc. We just had to take towels and sheets. The sound of the river was so relaxing, and it was unfortunate that we had to leave early due to my husband being under the weather. I would have enjoyed one more day and night.

Cozy Cottage in Convenient Location with Wonderful Adirondack Ambience

  • 5 of 5

We recently spent four nights at the River House in the Glen, and found it to be a perfect getaway spot for our family (four adults, one toddler). All amenities were as listed- the best of these being the river views/sounds and the covered deck. We had a bit of rainy weather, and unlike at a hotel, where we'd be bored (or a tent, where we'd be wet), we could sit in the cabin or on the deck and listen to the river, just relaxing. It was so peaceful and soothing. The kitchen is well-supplied with all the necessary tools for cooking and baking; my only comment here is the lack of overhead lighting- the LED light fixture next to the stove was good but not enough to cover the entire space. We had a great time exploring the area; although there is no direct access to the Hudson off of the River House property, there is a short trail at the end of The Loop that will take you to a connecting creek, which was a fun place to play. We would definitely love to come back!

Hudson river heaven

  • 5 of 5

This is an absolutely adorable cabin, with a magnificent view of the Hudson. The owners are fantastic to work with! We have absolutely no complaints. It is a great spot to escape for a long weekend (or longer I am sure) to recharge after a long week at work. We hope to return in the future.
