|Minimum Stay||2 nights|
Remodeled Craftsman house, old world charm with elegant modern interior in a quiet neighborhood. Private yard. Walking distance to Downtown Olympia. Close drive to Evergreen State College. Co-op/health food store one block away.
Home features hardwood floors, tile bathrooms, gourmet kitchen, new cozy queen beds, large dining area, and a comfortable spacious living room.Up a spiral staircase in the hallway there is a large kid room with bean bags, games, two twin beds and plenty of room for playing.
We love the quiet, well established neighborhood filled with old beautiful homes. We also love the Olympia Coffee Roasters just a couple blocks away, and we enjoy the West side co-op just down the street for getting great healthy food (2 blocks away).
The home is at the head of the Garfield nature trail. It is a nature trail that meanders throughout a five-acre ravine from West Bay Drive to North Rogers Street. It is a nice way to head downtown!
From the little yellow house, it is awesome to walk in to the city center and have dinner or breakfast, then after to stroll around Capitol Lake. You can visit the art galleries, the shops, and walk along the bay.
If you need to shop or want to see a movie, we are less than a mile from the Westfield Mall. This is a great home in a great location.
We are happy to help you enjoy your stay in Olympia and are available via phone/email for questions, or help, but we are not on premises.
You have the entire home, with private yard, and parking.
Bus lines are nearby and there is free parking in the back of the home, convenient and off street.
We are a growing family, that loves to travel...We like to have the experience, when traveling, that has a more comfortable, and more local feel than a hotel. That has lead us to many VRBO properties, and even more memories made.
Ahtumn Delacroix purchased this house in 2013
We found this home and bought it to resell, but while remodeling, we fell in love with the home, and its character, not to mention the location! We then decided to keep it as an investment, and a vacation spot for when in the sweet Olympia area.
We loved our holiday stay at the Little Yellow House! The home is warm, comfortable, surprisingly spacious, and fully stocked with everything we needed to feel at home. The owners are responsive and a delight to deal with. We cannot recommend this place highly enough. If you want to visit Olympia and the surrounding area, you won't find a more comfortable, inviting, perfectly located place to stay.
This is our second time staying at this house. The location is just perfect and we feel right at home here. We will be back for sure. Thank you!
A great place, wonderful owners, couldn't have been happier with our stay at "the little yellow house". The perfect place for a family with young children...Ahtumn provided high chairs and pack and plays, and several toys to keep our one year old twins occupied and happy. I highly recommend this home and hope we have a chance to return one day!
We so enjoyed our stay at The Little Yellow house. It's in a great location, and it was sure nice to be able to park our 2 cars in the back, not in the street.
The interior has been remodeled beautifully, yet maintains its character. We were a family of 6 adults, and all had our privacy.
I definitely recommend staying here when in Olympia. Should my travels take me back, I will stay here again.
We were three adults - one couple and a single - who spent 4 nights at the little yellow house, using it as a pied à terre for forays into the Olympic National Park, Mt Rainier and Seattle. It is conveniently located for that, in a nice quiet neighborhood. There are lots of grocery stores nearby, as well as a large shopping mall (we didn't visit there). Everything in the house is nicely updated. The kitchen is extremely well equipped, with not just the minimum, but a variety of cooking utensils and a complete set of knives. The owners were careful to point out that although there are 1.5 baths, both are off the main hall, rather than being en suite. This wasn't a problem for us, but we did appreciate that they made sure that we knew. The grill and back patio were nice touches. Would definitely stay there again for a similar trip.
We fell in love with Olympia and with Ahtumn's little yellow house.
We didn't want to leave.
Close to everything ... walk to town, shop at the co-op, lunch at Hart's Mesa, Trader Joe's, Target ... everything you need is close by.
We are a Vegan/Vegetarian family and there were so many options available.
Everyone in Olympia was so friendly and welcoming. We felt right at home from the moment we arrived.
The downstairs bedrooms are so comfortable and the upstairs was the perfect space for our college "kids".
There is plenty of space in the living room for everyone to hang out and lovely outdoor spaces in the front as well as the backyard.
The kitchen has everything you need to prepare meals in house, but with so many options in town you may not ever need it.
Bring comfy shoes - you'll want to walk everywhere. The nature trail is right across the street!
Tumwater falls is a must see - salmon running upstream was quite a sight to see, and the walk is beautiful.
We will definitely be back.
Thank you Ahtumn for sharing your wonderful home!
Down town, (just a ten minute walk down the hill), has much to offer! Some of which are, the farmers market ( biggest in the state), art galleries, restaurants on the water, the marina, the Capitol (set above the beautiful capitol lake which is a great spot for a walk), coffee houses, live theaters and many shops. Percival Landing has 1.5 miles of boardwalk with artwork and interpretive displays outline the history of the harbor. The Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge offers miles of level trails for those interested in Puget Sound Wildlife, especially birds. To help capture your findings, they are complete with viewing platforms and photo blinds. Also, the Hands-On Children's Museum, a state-of-the-arts educational playground for kids of all ages. It's right next door to the Wet Science Museum. It showcases the water cycle and how we humans participate in both polluting and cleaning our water. There is still so much more in Olympia!
