About the property

Perfect family holiday location, private pool, facilities for all ages, peaceful

El Padron is situated in a completely private, peaceful and spectacular setting with views from the mountain of La Maroma to the sea and the white villages of the Axarquia. Around the house the surrounding hilly countryside is still very Spanish, with the local farmers working on their fields and groves of olives, almonds, vines, and now also mangoes.The self-catering property has its own private pool and terraces, much of which is covered to provide shade. There is an established garden providing a green oasis, with views over the surrounding olive, almond and mango trees and ancient vines. The house has facilities for the more active, with a boules pitch and ping pong table. For the less active there is a library of books, internet access and a TV and DVD player if you wish to bring your own DVDs. It is an ideal house for multi-generational families with lots of space to get away and relax, with various covered and open terraces where you can relax and sunbathe, or hide away with a book. The house sleeps 8 to 10 people, with 2 double bedrooms and 3 twin rooms, one of which is more suitable for children. There is one en-suite bath/shower room attached to one of the twin rooms which is on the ground floor, an en-suite shower room to one of the doubles and a shared shower room, all of which are on the first floor with the remaining bedrooms.

The local restaurants offer a wide range of menus, from typical Andalucian mountain food in the inland villages, to all sorts of delicious fish and seafood in the restaurants and beach chiringuitos on the coast. You will also find some Indian, Thai and Chinese restaurants in the area!

The beach is approximately 25 minutes away, there are great walks within easy reach of the property, and we are centrally located for day trips to Granada and the Alhambra, Cordoba and its Mesquita, Ronda, Gibraltar and Malaga City. For the water sports enthusiasts there are facilities in Nerja, also horse-riding near Periana and a water park in Velez-Malaga for the young ones. We can also organise guided walks in the area with an experienced local mountain guide.

The house is in a superb spot with fabulous views out over the Benamargosa valley across to the hill-top village of Comares. We loved the feeling of space and tranquillity.

"We really enjoyed our stay in Spain. Mari and Clide really made sure everything was set up for us to be able to enjoy the place. The house is fantastic, the swimming pool is nice,the views are great and the place is very well organised. We stayed longer than initially planed and we will be back!"

Superbe prestation

Nous avons séjourné à El Padron 2 semaines fin juillet début août 2014.

Excellent accueil de la part de Mary (qui parle français) et de Clive, les propriétaires. La maison correspondait en tout point à l'annonce.

La maison est parfaitement équipée (cuisine notamment, avec une vaisselle de qualité) et très propre.

Sa décoration est superbe (mobilier de famille), ses diverses pièces et espaces de vie accueillants.

Cette maison a une âme !

La vue depuis ses nombreuses terrasses est splendide.

La maison est sans aucun vis à vis.

Cette adresse est à recommander sans réserve.

Extraordinaire maison au milieu d'un havre de paix

La Vinuela est un havre de paix au sein des collines surplombant la mer. Nous avons passé d'excellentes vacances dans cette immense maison très confortable pouvant accueillir sans problème deux familles avec enfants. Sa localisation permet également de visiter à moins de 2 heures de somptueuses villes du sud de l'Espagne (Grenade, Cordoue, Séville).

la villa et son jardin est un véritable paradis !!

vue panoramique spectaculaire

magnifique terrasse

pas de vis à vis et silence garantie a part les cigales!

équipement de la villa très complet

accueil parfait par les propriétaire (anglais)

seul bémol le chemin d’accès environ 3km de pente et rampe de virage la aussi assez spectaculaire avec une vue magnifique sur lac.

"Après un long, un tortue...

"Après un long, un tortueux et pentu chemin, au cours duquel nous vîmes un magnifique paysage, une superbe villa s’offrit à nos yeux.

Et oui c’était le gîte Finca del padron.

Quand Mari & Clive nous fîmes visiter, nous avons « halluciné» en découvrant ce gîte avec sa tour toute arrondie, son jardin magnifique, sa piscine ainsi que ses terrasses et cette superbe vue

L’intérieur n’avait rien à envier à l’extérieur et c’est avec un grand plaisir que nous nous sommes installés dans cette maison décorée avec goût.

Cette semaine s’annonçait idyllique et c’est bien ce qui s’est passé.

Nous avons adoré visiter Cordoue et Grenade, ces deux villes à ne surtout pas manquer dans la région.

Nous avons également farnienté autour et dans la piscine sous le chaud et beau soleil Andalous.

Bref ce séjour fût absolument superbe.

"Séjour extraordinaire! La maison est très confortable, l''emplacement idyllique et les propriétaires sont plus que charmants. La route pour rejoindre la maison est un vrai sport,mais quel plaisir de conduite en même temps; et quels magnifiques paysages. Tout nous a semblé plus beau que prévu. Nous ne vous conseillons pas d''y aller, vous risqueriez de prendre notre place!! ;o)

El Padron is situated in the scattered hamlet of La Dehesa de Triana, nestled in the hills between Lake Vinuela and the Benamargosa valley in the lovely Axarquia region. The house is reached by a 3km country road which winds up into the hills, giving fabulous views from the Mountain of La Maroma to the coast at Torre del Mar and around to the white hilltop village of Comares. The area is central to many of the tourist attractions of Andalucia, with the lovely city of Granada, the Alhambra Palace and the Sierra Nevada only 1.5 hours away, the fascinating and compact city of Cordoba 2 hours away, and the largely ignored but interesting city of Málaga only 40 minutes away. There are two golf courses within 40 minutes of the house - Añoreta which is about 35 - 40 minutes away, and Baviera, which is 25 minutes away at the coast at Torre del Mar. There are many good beaches in the area, the prettiest being a little further east near the town of Nerja where various watersports are available for the more active. The caves at Nerja are a wonderful place to spend an afternoon, especially in the hotter months. A visit to Lobo Park near Antequera is also recommended - here you can experience the spine-tingling experience of the wolves 'night howl'.

Golf: There are 2 golf courses within easy reach of the property - La Baveira at Caleta de Velez, and La Anoreta at Rincon de la Victoria.
