About the property

2 bedrooms plus studio, 3 bathrooms, sleeps 2-8

Le Belevedere Apartment building is situated in a beautiful, quiet location which benefits seclusion and stunning scenery, while being only 5 minutes from the centre of Courchevel 1650. Enjoy the ease of door step skiing - A simple 100 metre schuss takes you onto the Belvedere ski run - 400 metres 'blue' run skiing down to the new 1650 bubble - A beautiful 10 minute ride up to all of the 1650 runs, leading to Courchevel 1850, Meribel, Val Thorens and Les Menuires. Both the 2 bed apartment and studio are on the 1st floor with balconies, ski lockers and underground parking. The 2 bed apartment and studio can be rented separately or linked together. Therefore the Studio is ideal for a couple on their own. The 2 bed apartment is fantastic for a family. The 2 together are perfect for a party of up to 8 people.

Skiing: You buy your Ski passes and French ski school at the central station by the bubble (above the Tourist Information). You have 3 choices of ski pass - Courchevel 1650 only, Courchevel and the 3 vallees. A beginner only needs a ski pass once the free lifts of Mickey and Le Belvedere are no longer a challenge. Only fairly competent skiers should consider paying the extra for the 3 vallees pass. Note the pass allows 1 days skiing in Val D'Isere / Tignes which are a 11/2 hour drive. If you want to experience skiing in a nearby resort Pra-Lognan La Vanoise is only 1 hour drive away. Good off piste skiing (when conditions allow!) can be found at the top of 1650 and off the Chanrossa and Suisse runs. Courchevel 1850 can be reached by skiing via Chanrossa, via Pra-Meruel or by free ski bus! Walking: If you want a days walking rather than skiing, the trek down to the lake 'La Rosiere' starts just outside the apartment.

Super convenient spacious apartment

  • 5 of 5

April is really Courchevel's best kept skiing secret, great snow and quiet slopes, especially in 1650. We were surprised to hear that 1850 doesn't shut until the last weekend in April, and resorts nearby not until early May!!

We rented both the 2 bed apartment and the studio, which link easily to create a large 3 bed apartment, perfect for us as our parents came along to look after the kids, and they enjoyed the privacy of the studio. There are plenty of DVD’s for the children to enjoy and of course there is free wifi in the apartment! Another bonus for us was the blue Belvedere ski lift which is only 50 meters from the apartment. It's Free!! So is the Nursery slope below. It saved our parents 2 days of ski pass as they ventured out on the snow for the first time in 20 years! The skiing in Courchevel is amazing and now they are building a huge Spa, with pools, saunas etc which is due to open in 2015. I've never seen such a large complex in a ski resort. It's linked directly to Courchevel 1650 so we will be returning soon!!

Très chouette !

  • 5 of 5

Great apartment to spend one week in Courchevel

  • 5 of 5

Apartment is brightly and well localised in a quiet place close to firs. We were 4 adults and it was enough spacious for us. The apartment has easy access to the ski area: you need 2 minuts of walking time to access the pist named "Belvédère", and 2 minuts more of skiing time to arrive on the cabins of "Ariondaz". You leave the appartment by skiing, and you return to it by skiing.

Downtown and shops are a little far by feet, but there is also a frequent minibus service to village.

The owner clearly enjoys his apartment and was very helpful and quick to reply to our questions.

Many thanks to Phil for a memorable stay.

Location

Car: necessary

Courchevel 1650, the village itself is called Moriond by the locals is much smaller than 1850, but has a great selection of bars and restaurants (cheaper than 1850). Some of our favourite haunts are Rocky's bar, the Signal Bar, the Bubble Bar and the Space Bar (for late night revelling). Eating out we like L'Eterlou (great pizzas), Petit Savoyard (local specialities) and La Montagne (try eating in the bar end of the restaurant, same chef, but cheaper food!). Also don't forget that the unlimited facilities of 1850 are only a 5 minute drive up the mountain.

Free ski buses operate from the Belvedere apartment to central 1650 (only 5 mins ride or 15 mins walk) and to Courchevel 1850, 1550 and 1300.

Ski Hire shop 100 metres from the apartment close to the bus stop. Tell them you stay at the Belvedere Apartments and you will get a 15% Discount.

Other Activities: Snow boarding
