Gorgeous River Getaway

  • 5 of 5

Amazing place. The scenery is gorgeous and the property is really spectacular. Kris and Mike take such good care of the place and attend to small details that make it feel like a resort. Best ever.

Beautiful setting

  • 5 of 5

What a great place, this whole property is amazing. You can swim in the river, hike, pick berries, or just relax and soak in the views. Super efficient space in the yurt and gazebo. Super private! And the hot tub was a bonus! Kitchen has condiments and basics which is lovely. We went with two young kids and it was perfect for them to be able to explore a bit on their own, totally safe and perfect for young families. My son wants to go back often. Lots to do nearby (within 1.5 hours - from Cresent City beach, Caves at Cave Junction, Trees of Mystery, Jedidiah Smith hikes could be a daily activity as they were for us it's so close). I would highly recommend not driving in all the way - just take the walking bridge.

Beautiful Surroundings!

  • 5 of 5

We recently had the opportunity to stay in the yurt at Middle Fork Ranch and absolutely loved it. We loved that we were somewhat secluded and right on the river. It was beautiful. The yurt has all the amenities you need for a very comfortable stay. My son had a blast with his new sling shot down by the river. We loved the bridge, the views and the easy convenience to the surrounding area. We visited the Oregon Caves, hiked in the redwoods, took the botanical trail to the insect eating Darlingtonia plants. We loved coming back and using the hot tub each night. Are family of 4 truly enjoyed our experience and the owners were terrific. I am looking forward to a return visit!

Cannot recommend enough. Beautiful, relaxing, private. I was sold after looking at the pictures, and it was even better than we expected.

So blessed to have stayed here!

  • 5 of 5

It's taken me awhile to write this review because I couldn't think of words to describe what a wonderful time we had at the yurt. My kids loved it, especially the loft bed. My husband and I found it to be just the relaxing get away we needed. I look back on our photos and smile every time. Making s'mores down by the river, sitting around the campfire, petting the owners dog, and listening to the sound of the river were just amazing. The fog would slowly creep in at night, up through the trees on the side of the mountain. We'd watch it while sitting in the hot tub, and honestly, it felt like life couldn't get any better.

The kitchen had everything we could possible need. We brought groceries in with us from Crescent City. The beds were comfortable. No problems at all using the compost toilet. Our first day there was unusually hot, but the A/C worked great to cool the place down. Kris and Mike were thoughtful, perfect hosts. They truly care about their guests and will do anything they can to make sure they have a great time. Thank you both for allowing us the chance to experience this special place.

We enjoyed nearby attractions such as the Oregon caves, horse back riding on the beach in Crescent City, the Redwoods and Trees of Mystery. Lots to do in the area. The Smith river is incredible.

I would love to go back and stay again someday, and have already recommended this place to several of my friends and family members. Oh, and to many of my husband's coworkers who previously had never heard of a yurt! Do yourself a favor and book a vacation here. You won't regret it.
