A hilltop slice of heaven!
We've had two days to recover from the journey home (more from the M6
and its blessed roadworks than the entirety of the French motorway
system!) and wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay at
The villa and pool are fantastic. We had to pinch ourselves each
morning looking at the view whilst eating breakfast on the terrace and
again each evening having a glass (or two!) of wine before dinner. Driving back up to Llauro, from all directions, emphasised what a beautiful position
it's in. The village is gorgeous and we enjoyed having a stroll round
on several occasions!
James' thoughtfulness in sending so much information beforehand was very
helpful and we made good use of it. Ceret market was incredible and we
came home with rather more than was necessary! When we got back to the
car and looked at all that we'd bought we weren't entirely sure it
would be humanly possible to eat the amount of cheese, ham, olives,
fruit and tapenade that we'd bought but we did! What a wonderful place
We managed to fit in trips to several beaches, Carcassonne, wine tasting
in Terrats, the lake and Barcelona in between days relaxing by the pool. A
truly wonderful way to spend a holiday.
Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us (and a home it is and
feels like rather than simply a rental property) we feel very lucky
that we found it!

Thank you so much for your very complimentary review.
My aim is always for total satisfaction, I consider this as my reward. Thank you.
Fabulous Holiday at Villa Marguerite...
Lovely well equipped Villa with stunning views from the balcony, very peaceful too.
Fantastic size swimming pool.
Enjoyed our stay...
So pleased that you enjoyed your stay at Pur villa, it's always a bonus to hear that all went well & that you had a nice peaceful vacation
The setting is perfect, mountains all around and a short walk to the local village where you can buy fresh, delicious croissants and bread each morning. Breakfast on the terrace, with the awning down for a bit of shade - heaven! The swimming pool is excellent, our 2 kids were very happy playing in it as long as possible and it was immaculately clean and well looked after. Francis was extremely helpful and on hand for any minor issues (thunderstorm on first night messing with the electrics in the whole village!). James was available by phone and email and extremely helpful and friendly during the entire booking process&stay. The villa is comfortable, well equipped, wifi, TV, comfortable beds. It ticked all the boxes for our family (age range 4yrs old to 74yrs old!). The area has something for everyone - beaches, museums, castles - we especially enjoyed taking the kids to Plan D'eau (lake near St Jean Pla De Corts) and a visit to Castlenou. What a wonderful holiday, something for every member of the family. Was very hard to leave and we WILL be back! Thank you James.

Always pleased to get a nice review, the preparation, planning & information is very much rewarded.
This was our second holiday and we have booked to go back next year. The property is clean, comfortable, very well equipped - the kitchen has everything in it you could ever need - there are English books to read - boules - scrabble - a dvd player and Wifi. We can't recommend it enough. The pool is warm and clean (we appreciate the cover), the sunny terrace lovely (awning appreciated, the sun gets so hot!). The owners are very friendly and helpful, and have emailed me throughout the year recommending places to visit. Francis, who looked after the pool, was friendly. St Thomas' and its spas were magical. Le Racou beach is lovely. Ceret and its market, Collioure - lots of places. Llauro is itself a very pretty village with a shop which we found very useful. Cannot recommend it enough and we are going back next year (and probably the year afterwards!) Thank you for letting us stay again! Ginny and Richard, Warwickshire
It's always a pleasure to learn that a holiday went according to plan, to hear that a return visit is planned gives me great incouragement and the drive to continue with ongoing improvements which are necessary for relaxed, comfortable and safe vacation.
Wonderful french country home
This was a stab in the dark for us. Both a new region of France as well as a new home to rent. After an expensive yet amazing trip to provence last year we decided to try the slightly more affordable region of Longduc Rousillon. Villa Margueritte was a wonderful place to base ourselves. It's situated between Ceret and Thuir. And there are many exceptional places to explore most well within a 30 minute drive. Ville-Franche de Conflent, Colliure (sea&beach) Eus, Castlenou, even Spain and San Pere de Rhodes is not too far. Once we even stretched it and drove an hour to Carcasonne. So much to see. Great area. Ceret is 10 minutes away and has everything including the not to be missed saturday market. Fourques is 10 minutes in the other direction and there is a wonderful bakery and chacurterie (sp) there. The house itself is warm and inviting. It's fully stocked and very easy to cook your own meals or sit by the pool and enjoy a glass of Rose while watching the kids play. The grounds are beautiful and the view is wonderful and peaceful with the Sea in the distance. The town of Llauro is certainly small but very pretty. There is a small general store and a very good new restaurant/pub (great pizza) and beautiful old church. Honestly the town could use a few more attractions but it really is pretty. The house is about a 5 minute walk down the road. The owners James and Vincent were wonderful hosts and very helpful ambassadors of the area. We took them up on most of their suggestions and were glad we did. The place has the feel that it's well loved but not precious which is perfect for people traveling with kids. There is a very nice terrace just off the kitchen that is perfect for meals. If we ever find our way back to this wonderful region of France, and we certainly hope that we do sooner than later, we will certainly use this lovely old country cottage as our home away from home again. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and would highly recommend it.
It's so important that the visitor's vacation is as care free as possible, to get compliments is a real bonus and gives one the ego to try even harder. Thank you so much.
Our best holiday ever in Villa Marguerita, Llauro
We stayed with our four children age 14 to 6 for a fortnight. The villa was the best equipped we have ever had, the pool was lovely, the views were magnificent (especially at dusk). The villa is a short walk from a lovely village shop, open every morning except Wednesday. The owners were very helpful, emailing us photos and advice for days out etc over the six month period between booking and staying. Although it is by a road, the main traffic was cyclists! Our six year old loved it and called out BONJOUR BRADLEY WIGGINS to each one! We were devastated to discovered it is booked next August so are booking for two years' time - that's how much we liked it! Can't recommend it highly enough - the villa, the pool, the views, and the village. Ginny and Richard Marsh, Warwickshire
Thank you for your review, it is always nice and reassuring to know that all well for you. Sorry, the dates you require for next year are already booked, however, I can confirm that these dates for 2014 will be reserved for you.
A hillside location within 15 minutes of the beautiful town of Ceret. Llauro is recognized as the 'balcony' of the Roussillon plain and this is reflected in the beautiful views. The property offers an excellent base to discover the beautiful region of Roussillon. Places to visit could include the St Tropez of Languedoc; Coullioure, the stunning scenery of the Cotes Vermeille, the Arts and Craft Centre of Ceret or the lovely Spa resort of Amelie- les- Bains, a haven for nature lovers and walking enthusiasts. The Golden sandy beaches of Canet, Argeles or St Cyprien can be viewed from the balcony and are approximately 30 minutes drive from the property. Village of Llauro 5/10 min walk.
Other Activities: There are various other activites such as white water rafting nearby
Golf: You have a choice of courses the nearest is at St Cyprien or Falgas approx 35 min drive away. Many go across the frontier into Spain for a good choice and where green fees are cheaper, this would take approx 35 min.
Ski: A good choice of Ski runs approx 75km distance direction Andorra.
Rental Rates include towels and bed linen, and although a cleaner will prepare the house for the next guests we would ask all guests to leave the house in a clean state.
