About Stuart Ingwell
The owners are a retired couple. Stuart - a retired Squadron Leader, and his wife Bridget - a retired primary school teacher, live near Reading but they spend most of June and September living in Labenne and are able to keep the house in tip-top condition.
Why Stuart Ingwell chose Labenne-Océan
For three generation, my family have enjoyed holidaying in Labenne and we still find things to surprise us in the local area. Biarritz and St Jean de Luz are elegant & chic, some of the border villages are quaint - others stunning, and the whole coastline is magnificent from the sand-dune of Pilat in the North to the foothills of the Pyrenees in the South.
What makes this Chalet unique
This accommodation includes off-road parking and features its own private garden and outside (covered) BBQ area. The master bedroom on the ground floor is large and located opposite the cabin room which has two bunk beds. The twin room on the mezzanine is an attractive wood-panelled area especially loved by the young and the young-at-heart.

Great location in Labenne Ocean
We had a great week in Les Bruyeres. The house is really well equipped and the private little garden was lovely to come back to for BBQs in the evening. It’s a perfect bolt hole within easy walking distance of everything - great restaurants, water park, beautiful beach, bike hire... The area is brilliant for safe cycling with kids, and the beach had life guards on duty during the day. Our kids had lots of fun jumping in the waves! Stuart was so helpful before and during our stay. Highly recommend!
Great location (beside the beach), great house, with lovely outdoor dining area
The house is great - only a short walk to the beach. It is also very close to the zoo, a brilliant zip-wire park and a water park, to name but a few local attractions.
We eat all our meals in the outside dining area - on the patio beside the garden. Lots of shops and restaurants nearby, also lots of places to rent surfboards and bicycles nearby. There is a vast bicycle path network nearby.
We managed without a car - there is a free bus service into Labenne town, and onto other areas such as Capbreton. The train station in Labenne serves lots of areas from Bordeaux to Biarriatz.
Wonderful property very well maintained . Enjoyed our stay there.
The property is very well maintained we were impressed.
Everything we needed was available
The beds were comfortable and linen was of a good standard
One of the best properties that I have stayed at for some time.
The beach is minutes from property and lots to do locally even a trip to Spain was possible as well as the Pyrenees. Highly recommended

Good value sizeable property with outside space and privacy, close to amenities
We are a mature couple on driving tour and this property suited us very well with close restaurants, bars and a small supermarket. The beaches in the area are outstanding. There are many cycle tracks safe for families. Nearby towns are well worth a visit and despite slow traffic there was ample parking. Biarritz was a special treat for us and the central car parks not unreasonable for the security they offer. We especially liked the outdoor evening dining this property lends itself to.
Had a great holiday in Labenne
The holiday flat is great for a family with children, as it offers enough sleeping possibilities for everyone, especially sleeping in the loft is exciting for children. The flat is within a short distance of the ocean. We enjoyed eating breakfast or supper on the terrace. We enjoyed our stay!
You're right the accommodation is ideal for 2 adults and 2/3 children.
Canadian /English Translation: Flat = Studio/Chalet; Loft = Mezzanine; Terrace = Patio.
Enjoyable cottage and area
We enjoyed our stay in Labenne. Even though the weather wasn't perfect we still had a fabulous week. Near great areas to visit such as San Sebastián Spain, Biarritz, Espelette and of course Hossegor. Waves in Labenne were too big for our daughters to swim this week.
The cottage is clean and well equipped. The backyard is very well kept. Perfect for a family of 5. The only downfall is the uncomfortable sofas for our rainy days and movie nights.
The owner Stewart is very helpful and pleasant.
All in all great week,

Labenne is easily accessible by air, land & sea and is quite close to the airport at Biarritz. AIR - Ryanair and Easyjet fly to Biarritz (often at bargain basement prices) and the airport is only 40 minutes away by (hire) car or taxi. Also the major airines have scheduled flights to Bordeaux and Bilbao - each is about 2 hours away by car. CAR - the drive through France from the Channel ports takes a full day and so, depending on ferry times, you may chose to break the journey with an overnight stop. The Loire valley makes a rewarding stopover since it is approximately halfway and offers an opportunity to visit the magnificent chateau/castles along the river. TRAIN - Bayonne, which is within taxi range, is on the main rail route for fast trains (TGV) and the overnight sleeper service from Paris to Spain. SEA - the ports of Blbao and Santander are used by Brittany Ferries and are only a 2 and 3 hour drive (respectively) from Labenne
Golf: There are literally dozens of first class golf courses within a 45 min drive of Labenne. The nearest championship course is at Hossegor only 10min drive to the north. It is a par 71 links course established in 1930 and includes many challenging features. Slightly further north is Seignosse which frequently figures in the top 25 Courses in Europe. It threads its way through pine forests and cork groves over steeply undulating terrain and daunting water hazards.
The 'Golf Pass Biarritz' covers 5 major courses in the area: Le Phare in Biarritz itself, Seignosse & Moliets (within 30 mins drive up the coast) and Arcangues & Bassussarry a similar distance in the other direction (within 30 mins drive southwards). All are championship courses with many challenging features and interesting contoured greens (often multi-level). The European Challenge tour is an annual visitor to Moliets which is ranked amongst the top ten courses in France
There are two excellent nine hole courses within easy reach: one at Port d'Albret (30mins) which circumnavigates an inland lake and features many taxing long holes - and also has a 'fun' driving range (using 'floating range balls) directly across and into the water; the other at Ilbarritz with a huge range area and an exciting nine hole course with half the holes situated on the cliff side with magnificant views of the Atlantic and the other half (down a steep buggy track) at sea level and featuring many water hazards.
