Fancy a holiday on the stylish Cote d'Azur? Then why not stay in beautiful Nice in a privately owned apartment close to the famous Hotel Negresco and only a 1 minutes leisurely walk to the Promenade de Anglais and its famous beach!

This one bedroom, 4 bed, lovely 1870s listed 'Belle Epoque' building in a designated preservation area (Le Carre D'Or) forms part of a recent refurbishment of a neoclassical building (inc Lift/Elevator) on the Rue de France.

The accommodation offers one bedroom sleeping two with a further two beds available from the quality sofa bed available in the lounge. Also included is a fully fitted kitchen, marble bathroom (with Power Shower), Air Conditioning, Washer and Wi-Fi (Internet).

Old Nice is only a short 8 minutes walk away with its vibrant markets, exquisite restaurants, and cafe culture. The apartment is also only a short and leisurely 12 minute walk from the central train station making the attractions of Cannes, St Tropez, Eze, Menton, Antibes, and the glamorous Monte Carlo readily accessible.

Our Contact Rosa offers Nicoise cooking courses in her own home, using organic produce bought from the Cours Salya old town market which you purchase in the Morning with her. She will advise on the produce, what's in season and what's not. This market and wine cellar tour, along with nicoise cooking is fantastic and we can arrange this for you. We had a great time, especially sampling our efforts afterwards with several glasses or two, of Rose Bandol and Provencal Wines.

Yoga/Relaxation retreats: We also have details of where to find that perfect calm, health and relaxation.

Fantastic location and apartment just as described. Excellent directions from the airport and so easy to find. No car needed as public transport by bus or train is very reasonable. Great winter sun location and the Christmas market was excellent.

Excellent apartment, clean and tidy, and excellent location. We went as a group of 4 and the accommodation was large enough for us. We all loved it and are already in the process of arranging a return journey. Highly recommended!

We get many guests with either families or couples, elderly or even wheel chair bound. Our kichen has all the modern applicances and including washer/washing machine for your clothes, if you are staying longer than a week or more. This is at no extra cost to you. Perfect location

Great location for the beach, old town, restaurants and visiting nearby resorts. Apartment is well equipped with excellent facilities. This is our third stay in this apartment and each stay has been enjoyable. Look forward to visiting again. Richard is an excellent host and makes the booking process uncomplicated.

Extremely convenient location in Nice!

The apartment in Nice was so conveniently located! An easy walk from the train station, easy walk to the Old Town, quick walk to the beach -- loved it! The apartment is small (we had three adults and that really is the max) but had everything we needed. We are not light sleepers so the noise in the street below did not bother us. However, for a light sleeper you may need to close up the window and use the air conditioning instead because there was a lot of street noise. Richard was kind and quickly answered any questions we had. Richard included suggestions of things to do while in Nice. We scheduled the cooking class with Rosa and had so much fun with her! This was our first VRBO experience and everything went smoothly. (Paypal was a bit slow at returning our damage deposit, but we did get it.) Our timing in Nice was unfortunate due to the tragedy -- our hearts go out to all of the victims' families and people of Nice -- we look forward to visiting this city again in a happier time and will contact Richard for use of his lovely apartment.

An easy walk from the train station, easy walk to the Old Town, and beach. We get many families stay of 4, and 5 by arrangement, usually a baby or small child. The apartment is situated off a quiet side street, as Nice is a city by the sea, and can be noisey at night, espeacillly if you have experienced a stay in the old town. Our guests and their holiday time is important to us, as we appreciate maybe more than other owners, that time is a precious resource, so we thank you for always choosing to stay with us. We have many partner contacts for our guests to take advantage of, i.e cooking courses and cheap secure parking. Paypal can take some time to refund, but this is usually not a problem, and we will always intervene if there is an issue with bond refunds. Our hearts and prayers go out to all those families and friends whom suffered, life is back to normal, and security is even tighter. We have many new bookings and confidence is high. I know you have booked to come back soon, so see you all again soon. Bonne Holidays! Richard, Kim, Ruby and baby Zachary! :)

Excellent apartment in good location

We had a really good holiday in an excellent apartment.this was as we expected .very clean and fully equipped. In a super location, use local shops for provisions locals very friendly and helpful.Richard sent all information needed before we set off and was very helpful, as was MArgareta whilst there. All in all would not hesitate to use again.

Owner's Response: Siamo appena tornati da una vacanza 9 giorni in appartamento bord de la mer.aparment è molto invitante ed è completamente attrezzata con tutto il need.it è situato in una posizione molto buona, a 2 minuti dalla spiaggia, a 10 minuti dalla città, e su una strada sono stati tutti i negozi locali si trovano ad acquistare tutte le disposizioni, e la gente del posto è cordiale e helpful.Richard inviate tutte le informazioni necessarie prima della nostra vacanza, e Margareta è a portata di mano se avete problemi mentre there.Nice è una città grande e vibrante facilmente percorribile con i mezzi pubblici, basta andare alle informazioni turistiche per le rotte e advice.we erano lì per euro2016 e questo ha fornito una buona atmosphere.all sommato una vacanza meravigliosa e non esiterei a visitare di nuovo l'appartamento.

NICE - Appartement Bord de la Mer

Nice and the surrounding countryside in May is a wonderful time to visit and the Appartement Bord de la Mer provides the ideal base to explore. The Appartement is very convenient for local shops and the Promenade des Anglais. The local bus and tram services are only a 10 min walk away through one of the main shopping streets. The Appartement is well furnished and clean. The bathroom and kitchenette are pleasant, and have all you need. The accommodation is suitable for 3 people comfortably, or 4 if necessary. The owner provided all the necessary information relating to the appartement and the local ammenities.

As the Appartement is on the second floor, the only concern was the lift which worked erratically, possibly making it difficult those less able who would have to use the stairs We had a great two weeks in Nice and would recommend the appartement to anyone who wants to explore Nice.

Owner's Response: Bonjour Guests, Thank you for this great review, your stay is truly important to us. The lift is being fixed, and I am informed that it is working well. As the apartment is only on the 2nd floor, it is only a few flights up, but we understand that the feature lift is useful for suitcases and etc. We try to beat the lift, via the stairs, when we send up our bags! Most apartments in France, do not have lifts, so we are blessed with this lift. We are a family of 4/5 and find the apartment very well suited, we also get some mixed groups to stay. Just to let other guests know we have installed a lovely new shower, and kitchen oven top. I would like to thank all our repeat guests for coming back year after year. Just image yourself sipping a cold glass of Rose wine or drinking a fresh ground French Cafe, relaxing and watching the world go by? In this perfect cosmopolitan near beach front location. This much sort after fantastic central location, near a local french bakery on Nice's famous first old road, the Rue de France, situated in the 'Golden Quarter' (Carre D'or) in Nice. Literally a leisurely 1 minute walk to the sea front & beach. Situated on a quiet side street, but close to all the best restaurants, cafe culture, street entertainers, designer shopping boutiques (like Chanel, Armani, Karen Millen, and many more), famous museums (Matisse etc) and transport links. Le Carré d'Or, or 'Gold district' is the elegant section of the pedestrian zone of central Nice, which begins at the Promenade des Anglais and extends to the tree-lined Boulevard Victor Hugo. Look for street names like Paradis, Alfonse Karr or Longchamp in order to identify this chic quarter of Nice.The 'Gold District' is the Mayfair or Park Avenue of Nice,on the gorgeous French Riviera Coast.

Other Activities: Shopping, Festivals, Art Galleries, Architecture, Canoeing, Wildlife (inc outside Wolf Sanctuary watching), Photography, Restaurants and night-life.

Golf: See Owners Website for excellent Golf Courses nearby on the French Riviera!

Ski: Winter skiing & Snow boarding is easy; Isola 2000 is a large modern resort, very popular, with good lifts and well maintained runs for all abilities. It is 2,000 metres high and usually has good snow from before Xmas to March. It's about 1hr 30 minutes drive from Nice, or there is a ski-bus service from central Nice (10 minute walk from our apartment). Auron, Valberg, Greolieres, and a number of smaller resorts are lower altitude and hence have snow for a shorter time, they are about the same driving time from Nice. Limone in Italy is prettier and about the same size, it is about a 2 hour drive.

Situated on the second floor of this lovely bijou conversion on the Rue de France, the apartment is accessed via the street into a classic marble hallway with feature staircase and building lift. Upon reaching the second floor the apartment is found to the side of the building and off the main street yet getting the sun in the afternoon and evening. Upon entering the apartment there is a hallway with solid oak flooring and access to a brand new high quality marble bathroom offering WC, sink, heated towel rail, and shower cubicle incorporating a power shower. At the end of the hall is the main living accommodation comprising: A fully fitted kitchen including fridge, microwave oven, 4 ring cooker and washing machine; Dining area with cast iron tiled table and chairs; A sitting area with a convertible sofa bed (with hotel quality mattress), Cable TV, Internet / wi-fi, DVD player and CD stereo; Wall heaters for the winter and air-conditioning system for the summer.
