Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Valencia Province - The View

2 bedrooms, bathroom, 2 wcs, large lounge/diner, 2 terraces, wifi, sleeps 4/6

Spacious house high up in the old town area of Oliva.

Oliva is an unspoilt market town which is in the 'Oranges and Lemons' region of Valencia, midway between Alicante and Valencia. It's on the southern tip of the Costa del Azahar - 5 miles away from the beginning of the Costa Blanca. The house is just 5 minute's drive from the magnificent uncrowded beach, which stretches 10 kilometres.

Upstairs - the terraced house has one large double room, another room with 2 single beds, and a toilet. Downstairs - there's a large front room/dining room (with a wood burning stove for the winter), a modern kitchen and a modern bathroom with toilet, bidet and bath/shower. Marble tiles throughout. The front room contains a bed settee which can sleep another 2 people.

Wifi is provided.

The 2 large roof terraces have good views over the town, Oliva castle, the mountains, and can also see the sea.

75 km from Valencia airport, 100 km from Alicante Airport.

Townhouse with roof terraces and lovely views across old town
average rating of 4.3103447 based on 29 reviews

Really spacious inside, we enjoyed sun rise and sun set on the roof terrace.

A great base to explore the beaches of Oliva, we were looking for a beach where you can take a dog and we found an almost empty stretch where it it is basically allowed , a 15 minute drive away. The house is great, authentic Spanish or Valencian barrio. Gail who met us was lovely.

Great Location

  • 4 of 5

This typical Spanish house is located in Old Town Oliva. It is in close proximity to a very good and welcoming Spanish Bar/Restaurant and a neighbourhood English bar with other eateries just a short walk away. A 5 minute walk to the Paseo places you in the downtown area where an assortment of shops, grocery stores and restaurants/bars await your discovery.

The home is two stories with a rooftop terrace that provides a place to enjoy the Spanish sun. It also offers panoramic views and a bar-B-que.

The home is equipped with 'Sky' T.V. and Wi-Fi so that it is easy to stay up to date with world events (if that is necessary) and in touch with family and friends who only wish that they could also be in SPAIN.

The local property manager was very informative and during our 3 month stay dropped by occasionally to see if we were in needed anything.

We are counting the days until we can once again return to this townhouse in Oliva.

An authentic Town House in the old quarter

  • 3 of 5

If you want 'real Spain' then book this house - it is right in the old Town, with large sunny terraces with views in all directions. It's big, well equipped, with comfy beds.

If you want luxury then get an apartment or Hotel but we thoroughly enjoyed our time and the house was more than adequate for our needs and we would book again.

Too hot to sleep

  • 3 of 5

As such I agree with the other reviews .... you will get to know original Spain / working class kind of area, old town, superb restaurant near by, quite spacious , location ....

The only caveat ..... there is no air conditioning in the house and the fans as provided don't cool down the rooms in a way to make it possible to sleep. So the only chance is to get up to the roof terrace, which is lovely. We did this and enjoyed it .... unfortunately you get stung by mosquito quite a bit.

Really would recommend to the owner to get air conditioning at least in the sleeping rooms and then a 4 star rating would be fair.

A lovely old townhouse in unspoilt Oliva.

  • 5 of 5

Our townhouse in St Marcos was much bigger than I had anticipated. It was spacious, comfortable and well provided with linen, towels, kitchen equipment etc. Situated in Oliva old town, we enjoyed the delights of navigating the labyrinth of little streets and stone steps, leading to church squares, little bars and castle ruins. Oliva is still very Spanish, so full of character and it hasn't as yet been ruined by tourism. The roof terrace was great place for observing the sights and sounds of the old town. Oliva beach is about 40 minutes walk from the house and is just beautiful, with a shallow gradient and fine sand. It is quiet, compared to the coastal resorts further south. There is a nice riverside walk through a nature reserve to the beach. Lots of good restaurants around. The Friday market is great, although the town has 2 large supermarkets as well as small local shops. Having a car is worthwhile to explore the coast, but also the stunning mountainous areas and inland villages. However there is a good bus service to Denia and Gandia. Valencia is a gem not to be missed and can be reached by bus, or train from nearby Gandia.

Spacious home with amazing roof terraces

  • 5 of 5

The pictures online do not do this house justice. It is huge, with two amazing roof terraces with views of the town, the surrounding hills, and the sea. The house was spacious and comfortable, perfect for a relaxing holiday. Sitting on the roof terrace watching the sunset was priceless. The town of Oliva is gorgeous and there are lots of British owned restaurants and shops around, so if you don't speak Spanish you can still easily get by. The sea is close by, a quick drive, but I recommend walking as the majority of the walk is through gorgeous orange groves. The smell of the orange blossoms be carried by the sea breeze was incredible.

I definitely recommend this house and I hope to come back and stay again!

Nearest Airport
50 Miles
Midway between Alicante and Valencia
Nearest Beach
3 Miles
Car: not necessary

Oliva is in the 'Orange blossom coast' of Spain. Within a few minutes drive from the house you will find orange and lemon groves, mountains, miles of beautiful beaches and many lovely towns and villages. If you fancy something more 'touristy' you could drive south towards Benidorm and Alicante, where you will soon find many facilities for tourists, including a large theme park. There are plenty of more sedate activities nearby, including golfing and yachting. Going north from Oliva will take you into Valencia, which is Spain's third largest city and is well worth a visit.

The house is on a quiet cul-de-sac. The street is too narrow for parking but there are spaces on surrounding streets. The town centre is 5-10 minutes walk from the house, down a gentle hill that may be a little too steep for elderly or infirm people or very young children.
