Very good location. Shame about the building work.
The location was great, as we expected, having stayed in Salem Street in 2015. 2 weeks before we were due to arrive we were told of building works across the street which may affect our stay. In fact, it turned out to be right next door. There was no mention of this when we booked back in March. Next door was an empty space with a JCB on it. This started up at just gone 8am! Noisy to say the least. I contacted Zoe to complain that we should have been advised of this previously as such large building works should have been arranged long before the 2 week notice and we could have arranged alternative accommodation, but, obviously, by then it was too late. Zoe said they would arrange a refund as we'd agreed, which was news to me as we hadn't agreed anything. When I queried this they said they would pass this on to the owner. To date I haven't had any replies.
As regards the apartment, it is in a good location and is sufficient for 3, 2 adults and a child or 2 small children. The air con is good but there are steep steps up to the apartment on the 3rd floor. There was a Fishermans Feast going on all the time we were there from 17 to 21 August and there were foods and entertainment on offer, so this is a good time to visit. If you get time and have seen all the sights, go down to the Mirabella outdoor swimming pool next to the Coastguard Station and overlooking the Charles river for a nice refreshing dip.
