Vermont 10 is a beautifully renovated spacious apartment with the most amazing views over the ski pistes and mountains. The apartment is located in 'La Domaine de la Residence'. This is Villars's most exclusive residential area (home to many of the Formula 1 fraternity) and it is very easy to see why. It is set in private parkland (only residential and lots of picture-postcard chalets, no high rise !) which has the best views in the whole resort, it is a few minutes walk to the ski piste which takes you down to the gondola (if you prefer you can ski-out from the apartment, it's gentle off-piste), yet it is only 4 minutes by car from the centre of town. You are in the middle of the Alps with incredibly beautiful mountains and woodland surrounding you while at the same time being only minutes away from all the attractions in the centre of town. The apartment has a large open plan living area with high ceilings, antique wood beams, open plan antique wood kitchen, quality furnishing.

Overall a very comfortable apartment-

We stayed at chalet Vermont mid season and used it as a base to complete daily walks in the surrounding areas.

A few points to consider -

1 You will need a car due to the location of the apartment

2 You can either hire a car in Geneva ( as we did ) or take a train to Aigle and hire a car there

3 The property was very clean and well maintained

4 The town of Villars has good services

5 Make use of all the walking tracks available in the area and the many restaurants that complement each walk

6 I would recommend this property for those people who are looking for a quiet and safe area

Beautiful apartment with breathtaking views!

We stayed in this apartment with our two children (aged 3 & 11) and it suited our needs perfectly. It was in immaculate condition and had everything we needed for our stay. The view from the balcony is incredible and there was plenty of spaces out the back and front for the kids to play in the snow! I would recommend a car as it is a short drive from the centre of the town (to get food, etc) but this suited us as it was lovely and quiet and ideal for the children. It would also be ideal for good skiers as if there is enough snow you can ski down to the telecabine which will take you directly to a great skiing area. Or you can park your car in the town and take a short train ride up the hill to ski.

We were very happy with the service from the owner, he was extremely helpful and ensured he gave us all the advice we needed on both the apartment and the area in general.

Overall I would highly recommend this apartment for beautiful views of the mountains, great location for skiing and a clean well maintained property.

Daily Telegraph October 2005: Switzerland is where you will find the definitive Alpine ski village complete with little red trains and traditional mountain huts. Villars is a pretty resort with excellent skiing for beginners and intermediates, on wide, well-groomed slopes in a beautiful setting with views towards Mont Blanc and the Dents du Midi. Villars was once a stop-off on the Orient Express route to Istanbul, and has been popular with walkers since the late 19th century. There are plenty of easy blues at Bretaye, intermediates have the widest choice with red and blue runs all over the mountains as well as glacier skiing at 3,000m. Villars is also popular with snowboarders with fun parks at Bretaye and Les Chaux - the Radio 1 Snowbombing Festival is held here. Access to the slopes is via the gondola or the picturesque mountain railway line. Other winter sports include skating, horse riding, curling, hang-gliding, sleigh rides and swimming at the massive pool complex
