Full of character and perfect location

  • 5 of 5

Loved its uniqueness and character. The instructions are very helpful when entering the property and the recommendations have been invaluable. The location couldn't be better, you step out onto a quaint little street with lots of food. Near to everything. Great for couples and close family/friends. Owners and manager very helpful and kind.

Thank you!

Great location, plent of space, historic building

  • 5 of 5

This was a wonderful apartment to enjoy Paris for our family of 3. There was plenty of room in the studio for 3 people, and the extra bed on the mezzanine level is a nice piece of design. The location is excellent for a short stay like ours (3 day). It is literrally possible to just walk to outside the door and enjoy Paris without going anywhere, but also well connected by buses and metro to go further afield. We enjoyed walking alonge the river at night, past Notre Dame, and walked over swathes of the 3rd and 4th district, and around the area around the Louvre. Took bus 87 up to Eiffel Tower to enjoy the night view when it was raining (and we were tired from walking all day), and then bus 72 down the Champs Elyees over to Orsay, change to 67 and back to Cluny very near apartment (one ticket will get you back as interchanges within 90 minute trip covered by same ticket) I would suggest going across the river, to Le Marais or a little further up into Saint Germain des Pres for restaurants as the area around Saint Michel seems very touristy, and restaurants don`t really have to rely on repeat customers. At the same time all friendly and convenient if you just need something to eat. The apartment inside is not luxury accommodation, but everything you need to enjoy your stay. The owners sent us lots of useful information before we arrived, and everything about using the locks etc worked fine. Thank you Claude and Violaine, and Shen, for a great stay.

Awesomely Quirky Apartment in Perfect Location

  • 5 of 5

We were a family of 4 (two teenage daughters) and La Traviata studio worked out perfectly for us. I can't stress enough how perfect the location was- you are truly in the bustling heart of the Latin Quarter, a block or two from the river and Notre Dame, multiple metro and RER stops/lines, and walkable to everything.

The apartment itself wasn't luxurious, but it felt very Parisian and cool. It had the basic amenities per the listing. The kitchen was very small, and we were never planning to do any gourmet cooking, but it allowed us to have stuff for breakfast and make lunches (sandwiches, fruit), so we only needed to eat dinners out (which we wanted to do anyway). The sleeping arrangements were great- girls shared a bed in the loft and us in the Traviata bed (both beds comfortable)- no real privacy, but no different from a shared hotel room. The bathroom arrangement was much better than some reviews had led me to believe- full, nicely working shower, toilet, and sink- the only quirk is that the room has an open ceiling (i.e., you can look down into it from the loft), but they have put up a "blind" that partially blocks the view so someone would have to be trying to sneak a peak for anyone to see you. That said, this space is much better for a family and could be a bit awkward with two couples or bringing a family friend or whatever where privacy would be more important. There's no a/c in the room, but I don't think Paris typically gets super hot in the summer and it was mild while we were there in August, so opening the huge windows worked fine for us.

Also, per other reviews, it was on a SUPER busy little street in the Latin Quarter in the height of tourist season, but with windows facing into an interior courtyard, it was completely quiet (the only exception being 1-2 times when the restaurant workers from one of the ground floor restaurants in the building closed up after midnight, opened their doors facing into the courtyard, and cleaned up with talking, banging, and music). But otherwise, it felt amazingly calm in the apartment.

Last point- owner and manager were very responsive. They send a massive (and somewhat intimidating) package of docs when you book, with a "contract," house rules, info about cleaning, info about lockbox- it sort of makes you feel like you're signing your life away, but don't let it deter you- I think they just want to be sure you don't trash the place, and the cleanup of such a small place is easy.

Perfect location for a true Parisienne stay!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here from Aug 9 - 12, 2017.

This little apartment is as close to the center of Paris as you can get! We stayed 3 nights with a young family of 5 and were very content with the space that we had. The listing, and subsequent communication from the owners, very clearly state that it is a small space, but we were pleasantly surprised with how much room we had.

The apartment itself was very clean and we had fresh linen and towels on our arrival. TV, phone and wifi were also included and worked great. Getting into the building and apartment for the first time involved some lock boxes and key fobs, but it was very clearly explained in detailed documentation that was sent to us a few days before arrival. Print it all out and it's very straight forward. Once in the apartment, a spare key and fob were available to use for the remainder of the stay so you only need to deal with the drop boxes once.

The apartment is a great place to use as a base for your visit to Paris from but also has amenities to cook meals and chill out. We made a full family dinner in the apartment on our last evening and had plenty of space to eat together (some at the table, others on the floor).

It cannot be overstated on how fabulous the location is! The closest metro (Saint Michel) is very convenient (my 8 year old knew the way there and back within 1 day of our stay). Rue Saint-Séverin is lined with brasseries, bakeries, bars, pizza joints, and more! Check out the chocolate shop on the corner, the wood fired pizza place, and wonder down to the Irish pub not more than 4 minutes from the apartment.

We found the caretakers to be very prompt in responding to text messages. We texted them on our arrival into Paris to ask when the apartment would be available to drop off our baggage, and they promptly responded that it was ready to go (3 hours before the official check-in time). Also, on our second day, they dropped off some additional towels a couple of hours after we asked for them.

This is self-catering accommodation, so don't expect a consierge, elevator, bell hops, receptionists, or a lavish hotel suite. That being said, I would thoroughly recommend this apartment to anyone looking to live in, and explore, Paris like it was your home away from home.

Apartment in Latin Quarter

  • 4 of 5

Fantastic location in the Latin Quarter very close to Notre Dame and not far from the Louvre. Close to Metro stop and easy access to other parts of Paris. Nice pedestrian area with many restaurants and some shopping. Apartment has lovely modern bathroom and was perfect for our small family. Went to a few of the restaurants recommended by the managers/owners and was not disappointed! We really enjoyed our stay and would stay here again.

Best Location!

  • 5 of 5

We actually didn't stay in this apartment due to water damage but the owners were kind enough to give us Bonjour Paris which was right next door to this apartment. Same great location. Loved the character of the apartment but the best was the location. It was right in the middle of lots of great cafes and less than 5 minute walk to the Notre Dame and Seine River. We had a small incident in the apartment and the caretaker responded right away and took care of everything. I would highly recommend this apartment and would definitely stay here again.
