Built in the 17th century, Le Mouli d'en Boix will cast its spell on you from the moment you arrive. This beautiful 25 acre property is situated high in the Vallespir Valley where it nestles into the hills, with only the noise of the river and waterfall breaking the silence. Either you can spend away your days on the terrace or take wonderful mountain walks with spectacular views. Wildlife abounds; butterflies and birds by day and wild boar at night. If you're lucky Roe deer may appear in the morning. St. Laurent de Cerdans is a 15 minute drive away and offers the usual French bars and festivals, especially in July and August. Restaurants in Coustouges and Tapas (Spain) are a short drive away. The Mas offers 2 suites, each consisting of 2 double bedrooms with one bathroom. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are not included. If you would like any meals to be provided please request rates. Mountain bikes and swimming are available on the property and there is a top class golf course 9 miles away.

Perfect relaxing week

What an amazing place, we had a week here with our two kids and had a brilliant time it was just a shame it wasn't two weeks. Plenty to do in the lovely sunny weather, exploring with Shumba and Elba, Dave and Chris's beautiful dogs. The kids especially loved the pool. Facilties are great in the property and Dave and Chris the perfect hosts we would definitely be be up for a return trip.

A great choice

We (a retired couple) stayed at Le Mouli for the first three weeks in June.

The welcome from the owners, Chris and Dave, was exceptionally warm and throughout our holiday there advice and information added to our enjoyment.

The property is charming and spacious with extensive grounds to explore. The location is superb for the enjoyment of mountain scenery, peace and quiet, walking along quiet paths and through beautiful woodland, followed by a dip in the private pool.

Although the property is quite secluded, there are the usual village amenities a short drive away.

If we were to visit this region of France again, we would certainly consider re-booking.

Ruhe und Erholung in außergewöhnlicher Umgebung

Wir verbrachten 2 wunderbare Wochen in Le Mouli. Die Beschreibung dieses sauber und ordentlich geführten Hauses trifft in allen Punkten zu und die Besitzer kümmern sich sehr liebevoll um die Gäste. Sie geben all ihr Insiderwissen weiter, sodaß wir u.a.tolle Restaurants in der Umgebung und im nahegelegenen Spanien (z.B. El Quadro in Macanet; super Preis-leistungsverhältnis !) entdeckten.

Obwohl man in aller Abgeschiedenheit wohnt, ist man in 1 Std. in Girona, wo Ryanair landet und wir unsere Tochter abholten.

Wer mal die Seele baumeln lassen will ist hier genau richtig.

Sehr schönes Haus. Herrlich ruhig und abgelegen.

Wir haben zum zweiten Mal einen herrlichen Urlaub erlebt. Das Haus ist sehr geräumig und gepflegt. Drum herum gibt es nur Natur, den beheizten Pool und natürlich die Pferde, Hunde und Wildschweine. Unsere Kinder wollen nie mehr wo anders Urlaub machen. Die Eigentümer Chris und Dave sind sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir haben hier neue Freunde gefunden.

Amazing hideaway

We had a fantastic stay in August of this year. After a bit of a drive up the mountain you come to this little bit of heaven. The owners are lovely and very helpful. They live on site but get on with their daily lives. They are around as much as you need them. The welcome drinks on the first night was a nice touch, especially after a long 12hr drive. The kids loved playing with the dogs, building dams in the stream and generally exploring the land. The pool is lovely on a hot summers day, especially after a nice long walk around the countryside. The apartment is home from home and has everything you could possibly need for your stay. I would definitely recommend and we will return one day.

A fabulous retreat

What a lovely relaxing holiday we had at Le Mouli. From the moment we arrived we were made most welcome. The surroundings are perfect, the accommodation and grounds were enchanting, exceedingly comfortable and our week flew past so quick we longed for more time there.

There was plenty to do and see and the area is stunning. Chris and David are warm and excellent hosts, great company and we thoroughly recommend a visit. We are missing your dogs who were delightful companions. Thanks so much to you both.

The Vallespir Valley is one of the most beautiful unspoilt areas in the Languedoc-Roussillon region. Mount Canigou, snow covered from November to June, dominates your drive up the valley following the River Tech as it meanders through the delightful villages of Ceret, Amelie les Bains and Arles sur Tech. The Valley narrows and climbs and the scenery becomes more dramatic as you near St. Laurent de Cerdans.

Amelie les Bains is famous for it's hot healing springs; Ceret for being home to Picasso and of course, it's wonderful Saturday market. Arles sur Tech is dominated by a Medieval Abbey and Pratts de Mollo by Fort Lagarde, both of which hold entertaining festivals throughout the summer. If you should want to tear yourself away from the tranquillity of Le Mouli, it's possible to cross the boarder and sample the Spanish restaurants all within easy driving reach. During the summer months the local villages are alive with traditional festivals, always welcoming visitors.

The guest accommodation at Le Mouli consists of two suites, each having two double bedrooms, bathroom & separate toilet. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area/satellite TV. The kitchen opens onto an enclosed terrace with a seating area - perfect place for small children to play. The main terrace is situated in the front of the house overlooking the swimming pool. - Perfect for relaxing over long lunches, dinners or a BBQ. The pool is 11 x 4m – a good size for those who like to exercise and great just to have fun, The pool is alarmed and there are child-proof gates installed. If you enjoy walking there are numerous tracks and trails offering wonderful mountain views. If you are a golfer the beautiful Domaine de Falgos is 15 kms away & we have golf clubs for hire if required. We also have mountain bikes for energetic guests and horse riding is available nearby. The house is suitable for families & friends together & note we only have one family/group at a time
