The bedroom areas boast a large wide corridor gives access and privacy to all The rooms the main bedroom has a parisian balcony.The common area has a large spacious lounge and kitchen area with two large french windows with parisian balconies.

A fine bakery can be found below the property with a tempting array of bread and pastries .

The property boasts a balcony area where you can relax before heading into the historic Old Town of Menton, which is also home to an array of exquisite

restaurants, museums, bars, all within walking distance from your holiday home aprox 150.mtrs.

About Joanna Courtney

I was born in Eire but brought up in London.

I lived for many years managing a small hotel in Italy (hence my love of France and Italy.

I returned to the UK and owned a Restaurant in London.

I then went into the Universities and became a General Manager of the SU in the London Universities.

I purchased the apartment in Menton for the beauty/tranquility/and easy access to many other places.The apartment has been refurbished to a very high standard as a large well furnished home.It is over 100.sq mtrs giving space for 6+ people without feeling crowded.

I now live in London but visit frequently.

As a young woman I travelled very often to the South of France and Italy and fell in love with this part of the world for the feel good factor.The food the people the markets selling wonderful local produce the fantastic climate and the many interesting places to see and visit with easy access to by car or public transport to many other places

What makes this apartment unique

I am not sure whether I love it more in the winter or summer every season brings something new.

The christmas decorations in Menton are something to behold

The orange festival where the whole town seems made of oranges and lemons

The wonderful feeling of safeness which makes the place ideally suited to everyone young or old.

This is an extremely large, beautifully and tastefully furnished period apartment. The kitchen is fully fitted and tiled. A large balcony services the lounge and a separate balcony services the master bedroom. The separate toilet is also a wash room. Portable air-conditioning in main central areas.

The apartment was perfect. Near to the sea, center, train and bus. Large, fresh and spacious apartment that I would highly recommend to stay in. The only drawback was that the curtain on the toilet only covered the window halfway.

Owner's Response: Many thanks for your review,the curtain issue has never been raised before as it faces a blind wall but I will inform Micaela and it will be addressed . However I must say as you know myself and Micaela tried to answer all of your requests I know you have acknowledged this to Micaela. You locked yourselves out of the apartment one night as one of your friends had taken the two sets of keys.You emailed me as a matter of urgency three times,when I recieved and read the email I emailed you back and asked to confirm all was well, as soon as Micaela recieved your phone call (she was at a family dinner birthday party she responded immediately however in the meantime your friends had returned with the keys so all was well.I pride myself that we do everything to ensure the comfort and safety of our guests,I would have thought it just courtesy to inform me all was well.I rang and asked Micaela who had no idea that you were also ringing me in London. I am glad that you enjoyed your trip and as now this has all been resolved hope to see you another time Best wishes Joanna

Convenient - especially good for elderly

A very convenient location with bakery (fantastic bread) fruit and veg shop and butcher next door. One block in from the sea front and a lovely walk in to town. Flat has everything you need and is big - plenty of room for 6 with 3 decent sized bed rooms.

My husband and I, together with friends, have stayed in Joanna's apartment twice during the Monte Carlo Rally in May. Menton has a peaceful environment only 10 minutes away from the husle and busle of Monte Carlo.

The apartment is very comfortable, light and airy , has all amenities, and has a great location. On the ground floor there is a bakery, grocers, butchers and florist. Excellent as we made many meals at home. 2 minutes away there is a supermarket and 5 minutes into the old town you can find the indoors market where you can buy wonderful fresh french produce. There is an abundance of resturants both in the near vicinity and only a few minutes away in the old


Even though the apartment is close to the train station (10 mins walk) we found it much easier to take the bus which

stops almost outside the building. 1 euro is the price and

that takes you all the way to Cannes. We hired a car the

first time and then found out that it was not necessary -

only for day excursions.The apartment is parallel to the

beach and only a block away. This of course is the public

beach - if you need more comfort use a private beach which is only 10 mins walk away.... towards Nice "Elsa Plage" or the next one of which I can't remember the name but you cannot miss it as it is the only building on the beach with a dome. Here you pay for private beach chairs and the surroundings are more luxurious. Both beaches have their own restaurant, exellent for lunch, and with very good food.

We were met by the local manager who was extremely helpful both on our arrival and departure.The apartment was very clean and well maintained.

Disadvantages - no dishwasher -

Some noise from the street but as there is double glazing

this is not a problem and the evenings and night time is

completely quiet. The French are very neat and tidy and like their streets to be so too. Therefore the "street washing" machines start quite early in the morning. If you

become irritated over this just think how wonderful it will be

later in the day to go out in a town which is clean and tidy

and free from garbage!!

We enjoyed our stay very much and will be returning soon again. We highly recommend this apartment not only because of the location but it has a great atmosphere.

You know when you find class!

IMy familly and I have stayed at this lovely apartment on four occasions, all seasons except high summer. The situation is perfect, within easy walking distance of many restaurants and the beach. It is situated above a first class Bakery, for those morning quoissants and baguettes.

The accommodation itself is a roomy, high ceilinged apartment, furnished with exquisite taste by the owners. The furniture is a tasteful blend of contemporary and antique pieces, which ooze comfort, coziness and style.

I would recommend this destination to anyone as a classy, comfortable base in which to luxuriate between trips to explore the local area. On a practical level it is on the bus route to Nice Airport, and a 10 minute walk from Menton Railway Station. We found that it was not worth hiring a car, as the transport facilities are first rate, and most places are within walking distance. The old town and hilltop cemetery are a must, as are the cathedral and harbour. All in all, I cannot speak too highly of the apartment and the town. Bon Vacance!

Gorgeous place

I stayed here with my boyfriend and mother for a week long break in Menton. It was just what we wanted- a stone's throw from the beach, spacious, cool and comfortable. All the rooms are large, with good sound insulation and have lovely French furniture. There is a handy washing machine and the kitchen is very well equipped. The balcony is nice for early evening drinks and the restaurants are all a short stroll away. It is very convenient for the train station so we didn't need a car to get around. Don't miss the coastal path towards Monte Carlo for stunning natural scenery and the cemetery for an incredible view.

Great location, great apartment, great holiday

My wife and I spent a wonderful autumn week in Menton at this lovely apartment. It's classic French, very stylish, uncluttered, and absolutely huge, with a big kitchen/dining/living room, and three big double bedrooms - the bathroom is big and has a good shower. All the furniture is very tasteful, with some nice antiques, and overall a sense of relaxed southern French style. It was cool in the day, warm in the evening, and surprisingly quiet. The apartment is really convenient for all the shops and restaurants in Menton, and less than a minute's walk to the beach. We were able to cook a full meal for some local friends, and then go for a night-time promenade on the sea front...
