What a truly spectacular holiday home! We had a wonderful time in gorgeous Ballycastle, with both adults and children promising to return! The house is exquisite, meeting all the needs of our family and the surrounding area is full of activities and surprises. We have travelled across the globe but feel that the scenery and hospitality in this gem of a place is unrivalled!

Very happy with the house and the area.

Great views in a great area. Walking distance to the beach area & shopping, but uphill on the return. The weather whilst we were there for 2 wks was pretty inconsistent, with some rain occurring most days, - which created a problem with getting our washing dry. For a house that holds that many people, the washing machine is too small & the dryer on it did not work. I would recommend the owner put in a separate dryer machine. The dishwasher did break down on the 2nd day, & the owner did his best to have this fixed & then replaced it with a new one. We did string a line outside to assist with clothes drying, but this was still difficult due to the weather. The conservatory became our drying room.

These minor problems did not mar our enjoyment with our vacation venue. The roominess of the house accommodated the 10 of us very well. Bathrooms were great with really good water pressure for the showers.

Location is close to many must see sights & we had a great time. My daughter in law even had her first swim in the sea, - reported as very invigorating.

A fantastic holiday home in beautiful Ballycastle

  • 5 of 5

A really comfortable and well equipped house a short walk from Ballycastle. We were a large group of extended family and there was plenty of space for everyone. We had a wonderful week and I would definitely recommend this house.

Ballycastle is a great place to base yourself to explore the north coast. It is a lovely unspoilt town with a real sense of character great shops, bars and restaurants.

Clean, modern, very well equipped and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

We had a great time in the house there were 10 of us and the house still felt like it had plenty of room. It is a great base for exploring the area from the Glens right round to Portrush and we even went on a trip to Rathlin Island for the day, definitely a must. Ballycastle is an easy walk from the house with a good kids playground at the sea front.

On one occasion we needed to speak to the owner and he was easily reachable. It's a great place I definitely recommend it.

Thoroughly satisfied and will return asap

It has hard to find a vacation rental that checks all the boxes - location, price, quality, size; etc, but this place did it for us, and then some. It sits up high enough to really get a good view of farmland, cliffs and, most days, Rathlin Island. 10 minute walk downhill takes you to the town, restaurants, bars, shops, the harbor, beach, children's playground, buses; etc. The walk back uphill can be a little bit harder some days, especially if you have already been hiking or walking all day. However, great exercise in fresh air meant we all lost a few pounds whilst we enjoyed the scenery on the way back.

I'm from Northern Ireland (now living and working in Atlanta), and grew up along the North Antrim coast, so I wanted to show my wife and 7 year old daughter the sights and beauty of this area. They fell in love with Ballycastle and really felt totally relaxed staying at the property.

We had family staying with us the first week and some friends during the second week, but it never felt cramped because there are 5 bedrooms and three bathrooms, plus a sun room, living and dining room, big garden for the kids to run around in. The house felt spacious, airy and was always really sunny and bright. The kitchen featured a gas stovetop, big "American" fridge and came with all the coffee machines, toasters, silverware, cups, bowls; etc you'd ever need.

Neighbors were quiet and friendly - my daughter made friends the first day she arrived and played every day with them for the next 2 weeks, so she was really happy.

We took a couple of ferry day trips to Rathlin Island which I highly recommend. Very unique place - book tickets 24 hours in advance though. We also travelled a fair bit along the coast to the Giant's Causeway, Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge; etc and really appreciated how easy the drive was to get to those areas. Very short journeys along quiet country roads with spectacular scenery. Great base for anyone coming over on a "Game of Thrones" sightseeing tour as you could easily check out 7 or 8 within 30 miles of this house.

Overall, we loved every second of staying here and can't wait to come back. The owner, Ronan, was very responsive and friendly. 100% trustworthy, which is important to me when making transactions with someone new. Ronan was always available by cell call or a quick text and he really made us feel at home and relaxed. Very happy memories of this house and Ballycastle that will tide us over until we return - hopefully next year.

Ballycastle is a quiet and peaceful seaside town surrounded by some of Ireland’s most well known tourist attractions. With the Giants Causeway, Bushmills Distillery and Carrick-a-Rede Rope bridge on one side and the scenic glens on the other, what more could anyone ask for.

Apart from being surrounded by an area of outstanding natural beauty, Ballycastle is one of the few remaining towns on the North Coast unaffected by commercialism. As a conservation area it has retained much of its original character offers much flair and charm.

The property is only a short stroll from Ballycastle town centre and can be described as a paradise for sports lovers with its well known grass tennis courts, bowling green and superb 18-hole golf course flanked by the River Margy on one side (known for it’s fishing qualities) and picturesque long sandy beach on the other.

Enjoy a scenic boat trip to Rathlin Island or the whiskey distilleries on Islay and marvel at the seals and whales en route!
