What a truly spectacular holiday home! We had a wonderful time in gorgeous Ballycastle, with both adults and children promising to return! The house is exquisite, meeting all the needs of our family and the surrounding area is full of activities and surprises. We have travelled across the globe but feel that the scenery and hospitality in this gem of a place is unrivalled!

Fantastic House in a great location

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for one week as a family of 6 adults and 3 young children and there was more than enough space. The property is well located, fairly new and vary spacious. The owner was very helpful with queries in advance. The local area is beautiful and we had a lovely time. Would highly recommend.

Beautiful property with lots of space for everyone, inside and outside. Short peaceful walk to beach and childrens' facilities. A bit of a foodie location with great coffee shops and artisan produce.

Wonderful family in Ballycastle

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in this lovely property for a week at the end of May We were a large family group with age range from 75 yrs to 2 yrs and we all loved staying here .The house is extremely spacious well maintained and spotlessly clean. It also has lots of garden space where the younger folk enjoyed running around Everything you could possibly require for an enjoyable stay is provided. The owner was very helpful and responded quickly to any queries.A pleasant 15 minute stroll will take you into Ballycastle where the family enjoyed shopping Maud's ice cream and taking the Ferry to Rathlin Island for a wonderful day trip . This house is ideally situated to explore the many tourist attractions in this beautiful area This is our 3 rd year to spend our family week in this property and we all look forward to our next visit and we would highly recommend this house to other families.

The house is definitely large with some nice views. When we arrived the house was very, very cold and the owners had advance notice of our arrival . It took several hours for the house to heat up. The house also lacked some important essentials such as a roll of toilet paper in each bathroom and towels and face towels for guests. When I asked about the lack of towels I was told someone would drop by with towels . This person never arrived, and then I was advised they do not supply towels. We travelled here from Canada and found the other vrbo homes much warmer and welcoming .

This aside the location of the home was good .

Owner's Response: Thank you for your positive comments on your rental. Guests are always advised to bring bath towels and I am not aware of you contacting anyone who said bath towels would be supplied. Hand towels are supplied to all 4 bathrooms. I am sorry that you found the house chilly. We are usually told that it heats up surprisingly quickly!

Great property in a lovely location

  • 5 of 5

Clean, spacious well maintained property. The family (three generations) found it easy to spread out in and settle into. Though little time was spent in the house the large kitchen and utility were well used and much appreciated. The 'boost' facility on the central heating/hot water was welcome.

It's a five minute walk from the beach and the immediate access to the forest was enjoyed by the grandchildren. Ballycastle, the harbour and beach were great entertainment (good ice cream) and the fresh sea air should be put on prescription!

No problems recommending it and certainly no problems returning.

Very happy with the house and the area.

  • 4 of 5

Great views in a great area. Walking distance to the beach area & shopping, but uphill on the return. The weather whilst we were there for 2 wks was pretty inconsistent, with some rain occurring most days, - which created a problem with getting our washing dry. For a house that holds that many people, the washing machine is too small & the dryer on it did not work. I would recommend the owner put in a separate dryer machine. The dishwasher did break down on the 2nd day, & the owner did his best to have this fixed & then replaced it with a new one. We did string a line outside to assist with clothes drying, but this was still difficult due to the weather. The conservatory became our drying room.

These minor problems did not mar our enjoyment with our vacation venue. The roominess of the house accommodated the 10 of us very well. Bathrooms were great with really good water pressure for the showers.

Location is close to many must see sights & we had a great time. My daughter in law even had her first swim in the sea, - reported as very invigorating.

Car: recommended

Ballycastle is a quiet and peaceful seaside town surrounded by some of Ireland’s best known tourist attractions. With the Giant's Causeway, Bushmills Distillery and Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge on one side and the scenic glens on the other, it is the perfect location for a holiday.

Apart from being surrounded by an area of outstanding natural beauty, Ballycastle is one of the few remaining towns on the North Coast unaffected by commercialism. As a conservation area it has retained much of its original character offering endless charms.

The property is only a short stroll from Ballycastle town centre and can be described as a paradise for sports lovers with its grass tennis courts, bowling green and superb 18-hole golf course flanked by the River Margy on one side (known for it’s fishing qualities) and picturesque long sandy beach on the other.

Enjoy a scenic boat trip to Rathlin Island or the whiskey distilleries on Islay and marvel at the seals and whales en route!
