Guestbook comments from the owner

Thank you for everything while we were with you. The house was perfect - gave us a great base to be together. It was exactly what I imagined it to be... we all loved the time there. Be sure to add me to your list of recommendations should anyone want additional information!

Meeting you was a plus...!!

Bill and I think we'd like to come back someday....probably not for a few years but we will be back!

Thanks again for the incredible, informative and outstanding hospitality you so graciously gave. Beyond the fact that you contributed so much to the atmosphere, the Mirabelle was charming and a great place to be able to 'feel' the aura of the area. Grandcamp Maisey could not have been more quaint and appealing for our expectations. The early morning trips of our grand kids to the local boulangerie for baguettes will forever be a pleasant memory in our minds.

Nice French rural property in an excellent location to visit all the D-Day landing beaches and museums, well worth the trip.

The house is cosy and warm with a comfortable seating area, nice big log fire and all facilities you could require. Functional kitchen if you want to eat in, good bathroom with an excellent walk in shower. Louise is an excellent host and very helpful. Stayed 5 days, loved it!

Lovely cosy house, very close to beaches and the town with access to beautiful restaurants and pretty harbour.

Our host was so helpful, booking restaurants for us and advising on local attractions. Her lovely dog nad cat were a bonus for our daughter.

Superb accomodation

  • 5 of 5

Stayed at Mirabelle for an Easter break with the family (2 adults 3 children 16,11,10). The cottage was just what we wanted and has a real French feel and is very well equipped. Louise was really chatty and helpful with advise about the area and arranged to have the burner lit when we returned from a long day out exploring. Maisy proved an excellent location for exploring the Normandy beach and historic towns like Bayeux.

I cant recommend Mirabelle highly enough.

Superb Location and hospitality

  • 5 of 5

Stayed for a week in May 2009 visiting the local D-Day historical sites and again in August 2009 with my young sons making sandcastles on every landing beach apart from Sword! (we have a reason to come back to tackle the final beach!!!!)

A fantastic location and the hospitality shown by Louise, the owner is second-to-none. The property is self-contained and has everything you might need including English TV and Wi-fi!!!!!

Mirabelle has my full recommendation for both adults and kids!

Grandcamp Maisy
Car: recommended

Mirabelle is situated in Grandcamp-Maisy. This is a small, friendly seaside village between the Normandy D-day landing beaches of Omaha and Utah. There are excellent choices of restaurants, cafes and bars all within 10 minutes walking distance of your holiday home. You will also find in the village all essential shops, supermarket, Boulangerie, Chemist, Post Office etc. A 5 minutes drive to the main N13 giving easy access to all areas of Normandy. It is a 45 minute drive from the ferry ports of Cherbourg and Caen. The drive time from Calais is 3 1/2 hour. Grandcamp Maisy is an excellent base to visit WW11 sites and the historic towns of Carentan, St Lo and St Mare Eglise and the beaches of Omaha and Utah.Bayeux with its medieval buildings, cathedral and theTapestry is a 20 minute drive. Many guests leave saying, they came to see the History, but would love to return as there is so much more to enjoy in Calvados.
