Great Lake House!!!

This house was great. Very close to Jamestown, had a ton or room to accommodate multiple familes and the beds were very comfortable. How nice it was to wake up each morning and have coffee on the deck and see the beautiful view of the lake. The owners were also fabulous to work with. We would definitely rent this home again.

House needs serious updates. Refrigerator did not cool very well and ice maker did not work. Stove old but works. Needs some more plastic containers with lids for storing foods. Upstairs middle bedroom mattress needs to be replaced because it feels like sleeping on springs. Each TV has multiple controls with no instructions. Had to make our beds on arrival which I was not thrilled with after a long day of traveling. Frayed cable wire in downstairs bedroom, had to unplug. Outdoor grill was dirty. Out door furniture and cushions for master bedroom were filthy. Plenty of gas for grill, after we cleaned it worked great and we used it several times. Plenty of out door seating on lower patio. View from patio was beautiful. Distance marina was good. Owner was good to respond to my questions before the trip. For cost and condition, I would not rent again. There is a sign up as for sale by owner.

Owner's Response: We're sorry to hear that the amenities in our lakefront home didn't meet your standards, but are glad you enjoyed the view and location during your getaway! Thank you as well for the feedback. As you mentioned in your review, we do try really hard to respond completely and timely to all questions before, during, and after our Guest stays so we will do so here as well... although I am limited by characters in this response. The refrigerator is cooling and freezing just fine. The ice maker was disconnected several years ago after repeated issues caused by the door not being closed completely. This is why we provide 6 ice cube trays and ensure that they are filled between Guests. Plastic containers for leftovers are replenished several times a year. Unfortunately these items sometimes hitchhike home with our Guests, so we ask our cleaning staff to check/replace as necessary. I was a bit confused about the comment related to the age of the oven so I double-checked the pictures that we have posted to make sure that we showing an accurate look at the home, view and amenities. The only items that I see that have changed since pics were posted are the projection TV was upgraded to a large flat screen, the shutters painted to match front door, and an extra loveseat was added to the living room. Though it isn't new, the built in stove is just as pictured... it is clean, safe, cosmetically sound, and all controls function as designed. I'm unclear as to the frayed wire reference, but I do understand that some cable remotes are more confusing than others. We try to label remotes as best we can. Upon inspecting all TVs, we couldn't find any frayed wires or any other problem. While all beds have thick mattress pads, we understand that "too firm" vs "too soft" is always a preference that we simply cant satisfy for everyone. We checked the mattress that was mentioned and couldn't find any areas where springs were obvious. We have gone back and forth over the years about the bed making. We have come the consensus based on guest feedback that it's nice to know clean sheets are provided each time which is why we do not make the beds beforehand. And as for the grill, yes grills get dirty after every guest that stays. We could spend 4 hours cleaning the grill and then one cooking it's messy again. We do provide grill brushes for cleaning the grill although those seem to walk away also. I do hope you were able to have an enjoyable vacation; that is our goal.

Excellent for family getaways

Very good for a multigenerational family. Kitchen well stocked and comfy sofas led to good family time together. Excellent deck with view of lake. Ceiling fans throughout house help keep us all comfy and AC efficient.
