Beautiful traditional wooden chalet situated on the hillside 300m above a picturesque alpine resort of La Clusaz. Loved by groups and families who enjoy a real home from home environment with comfy well-appointed furnishing. South facing with stunning views of the Aravis mountain range.
Chalet Fan La Bise sleeps up to 12 in traditional alpine wooden clad bedrooms of different sleeping combinations to suit every need.
Relax by an open log fire, soak up the fantastic views in the hot-tub or just lounge on one the south facing balconies or terrace and fill your lungs with fresh mountain air...
The chalet can accommodate up to 12 including children. The twin bedroom has a lowered ceiling and is not ideal for adults.
Everything on the ground floor up is available to guests, including the terrace and garden.
I live downstairs with my small family. Therefore I am on hand should you need assistance during your stay. I am more than happy to come up for any reason, just give me a call or text.
We aim to provide a high standard of personal service at the chalet which is often neglected.
We can help you plan your holidays and recommend high quality local companies to provide all the extra services you may need.
If you need airport transfers, catering, childcare or even a birthday cake, we can help you arrange everything in advance for you to make sure your holiday is as stress free as possible.
The chalet is situated above the village. It's in a very peaceful area with uninterrupted views of the stunning Aravis mountain range. It is surrounded by fields and boasts a large garden. A perfect location to relax.
A car is recommended to make the most of the area but there is a FREE bus to/from the town from mid June to mid September and late December to mid April.
It is possible to walk to town however I would not recommend walking in your ski boots. It's about a 15-20 minute walk into town and takes about 20-25 minutes to walk back. It takes about 5 minutes by car to get to the village and 2 minutes by car to get to the nearest ski lift. There is a free shuttle bus that runs throughout the winter season and summer holidays. It operates during the day and passes right by the chalet.
Other things to note
A €1,000 security deposit is included in the price. This will be taken with the second payment (if booking more than 8 weeks in advance) and will be refunded after an end of stay inspection.
Every holiday maker staying in a holiday rental in France is obliged to pay the “taxe de sejour” to the local mayor’s office. The tax is used by the commune to fund promotion of the area, upkeep of footpaths, set up free activities, the free ski buses etc. I will collect this obligatory payment of €1.50 per person per night for all over 14 years of age, on arrival, and provide you with a written receipt.
In return each member of your party is eligible for “la carte d’hote” a free card which is your bus pass and entitles you to offers and reductions at various establishments/for various activities throughout the communes of La Clusaz, Le Grand Bornand, St Jean de Sixt and Manigod. I will have cards ready for you when you arrive at the chalet.
The carte d'hote is only available during the winter season and summer holidays.
It is the perfect location to unwind from the hassles of everyday life.

Andrew was super helpful in arranging our stay. The chalet was lovely with stunning views, off the beaten track but very accessible. The chalet is spacious yet cosy and very comfortable. There were a few tiny issues during our stay which were very quickly dealt with and we would all go back again. Be aware that the roof (and door) is very low in the adjoining twin room, our children loved it, it is suitable for amenable adults but just be aware one bed is right in the eves. Also had a ski boot drier (downstairs not in the bedroom!). It was as it appeared on the internet.
Ten of us stayed at the Chalet for three days at the end of January 2011. Sam and Dave made us welcome from the moment we met and they looked after us with fantastic food, great service for equipment hire, well stocked honesty bar at very reasonable prices and transfers to and from the piste at times to suit us. The new outdoor hot-tub is a real bonus after a long day on the piste. The chalet location is high up overlooking the village with great views of the (approx) 200km pisted area. There is a warming open fire in the chalet, two large comfortable seating areas, one with a TV/DVD setup. Sam and Dave were always on hand to help out whenever we wanted and are fantastic hosts. We organised a transfer with them between Geneva airport and the Chalet and they were waiting for us on arrival, and dropped us off exactly when we wanted for the return journey. A great Chalet and great hosts, I will definitely look to go back again!
La Clusaz, is just one hour from Geneva and Chambery airports, and 1.5hrs from Grenoble. Oozing Savoyard charm, it is one of France’s best kept secrets. This picturesque town has retained much of it's original charm and style. La Clusaz is one of the oldest ski villages in the French Alps, it is very friendly and offers plenty for skiers and non-skiers in thw winter, with an abundance of activities in the summer for all ages. Including guided walks, biking, rafting, parcours, tennis, archery, sailing, kayaking, wake boarding, climbing...., the list is endless.
In winter the Aravis resorts offer an extensive ski and board area of more than 220kms of piste, with board parks, excellent off piste and 70kms of cross country runs and fantastic restaurants are dotted around the mountains. Chalet Fan La Bise is situated between the La Balme ski area and La Clusaz town centre, 2 minutes from the slopes of La Balme and 150m from the ski bus stop which runs every 15mins and later on weekends
Other Activities: Snowboarding, cross country skiing, snow shoe walks, ice karting, ice skating, dog sled rides, winter paragliding
Golf: Therea are two nearby courses on La Clusaz (5 holes with driving range 2km from the chalet) and Le Grand Bornand (9 holes) or there are a selection of 18 hole courses further afield in Annecy, Aix le bain and Chamonix etc.
Ski: La Clusaz has its own extensive 130km ski area and coupled with the neighbouring village of Le Grand Bornand, offers 220kms of fantastic skiing covered by the Aravis ski pass. The majority of runs are north facing, explaining the excellent snow record enjoyed by the resort, but the area is also well served by artificial snow making machines. Many lower slopes wind gently through the pine forests, while higher up the mountain, skiers can enjoy the impressive sight of Mont Blanc.
For those wishing to try cross country skiing, you will find 70kms of scenic trails from which to choose, on the Confins (1450m) and Beauregard (1690m) plateaus. Real sport enthusiasts can try out their skating technique on a special run (3km); and by taking the Bellavarde (10km) black run you can join the Grand Bornand area. The Nordic ski area of La Clusaz is classed 'Quality Plus' by France Cross-Country, and is a renowned cross-country site with exceptional views and unspoilt natural surroundings.
